I think of it like this:

Miku and the boy she loved had a complicated relationship that began to break over time, so the boy said goodbye to her for her sake, and tried following the path he had to follow and move on, and now Miku, who always relied on the boy, faces the fact that she's on her own, and tries enjoying life despite her broken heart. But thinking back at their memories together, she feels both happy and depressed,

She is older than her usual 16 in the video, and her clothes, however pretty, are themed with black for mourning. The two tracks, one stopping and one going on, suggest two parallel lives, one cut short. The words suggest an older person, parent or mentor who she misses and whose memory she promises to sustain. A very moving song.
