  • The older lady in front doesn't always sing, especially at the end....?

  • Beautiful! Thank you for posting!

  • I know to a lot of you out there who see this, you must think this is incredibly outdated. It may be; but, it speaks to me. I grew up in a church that sang in this style and I miss hearing this type of music in churches today. When I listen to this, I can close my eyes and it takes me back to a different time in my mind. I relish this video!! Thank you for posting this statesmenfan!

  • That is so cool to see the Big "Chief" and London Paris singing together.

  • WOW, very kewl to see these greats of Southern Gospel. This has to be the roots of what the Gatiher's do today.

  • What a great clip,I truly enjoyed it so much ...a 5***** star production for sure.Thank you and God bless.

  • How cool is this??? ;0)

  • Singin Time in Dixie and the Singing Caravan were on TV at about the same time. Gospel Singing Jubilee came later, if I recall correctly.

  • Great video...This bass row should be considered as the "Murderous Row"!...to use that famous line for the Yankees great line up of power hitters. Awsome. True Christian Gentlemens.

  • Yes I can just feel that right hand corner rumbling!

  • That´s a real treasure - Thanks a lot !!!

  • did i see mom speer down in front

  • Yes, you are correct! That's dear, sweet Mom Speer, and standing next to her, Ann (Sanders) Downing. What a group here! So many of them are now singing in Heaven's Choir.

  • Lots of the greats here. Just to name the ones I recognize: Big Chief,London Parris, Big John Hall,Jim Hill,Jack Toney,Horace Parrish,Rosie Rozelle,Jim Hamill,John Mathews,Jimmy Taylor,Bill Shaw,Cecil Blackwood and of course James Blackwood leading the Group!

  • Interesting! Quite an unusual clip. Thanks for confirming.

  • Gosh! London Parris and "Big Chief" Wetherington singing in this southern choir together. Am I mistaken, or is there a guy looking very much like Jack Toney on the left hand side of the picture?

  • Yep that's Jack Toney.

  • Such a blessing! Thanks for sharing
