    1.Hypoglossal nerve nuclei=deviation of the tongue to the ipsilateral side on attempted protrusion, caused by muscle weakness on the ipsilateral side and speech difficulty secondary to this.

    2.The medullary pyramid( and hence to the corticospinal fibers of the pyramidal tract)=limb weakness i-ehemiparesis (or hemiplegia, depending on severity)

    3.Medial lemniscus-loss of discriminative touch, proprioception, and vibration sense on the contralateral side of the infarct .

    

  • Lateral medullary syndrome (also called Wallenberg syndrome and posterior inferior cerebellar artery syndrome) is a disease in which the patient has a constellation of neurologic symptoms due to injury to the lateral part of the medulla in the brain, resulting in tissue ischemia and necrosis.
