Slade were that oddity , in Rock' n' Roll, there was no Art School pseudo intellectual element to they're music, truly working class, it was in a way folk music, music" by the people for the people". and so why should it not be reinterpreted , for that is what folk music does, the tunes and the intentions stay the same but the lyrics and the style change..ITS GOOD !
The sadness of this song comes to the front and the fun fades away.
One can hear sadness listening to Noddy too.
