Nightmare player must use much more his grapple moves. Nightmare is the best character to throw other players outa tha ring. The ones that must be used most of the time is: Basic grapple and the two feet grapples. + make more distance to use the powerfull moves, always the same mistakes.

There's a button that you press for grabs, and apparently its vertical. It seems easier than pressing two at once.

this is late lol and u probly fixed ur prob but when you use nightmare you have to havce good timing and predict the enemy then u have to chain his most powerful attacks togethor quickly and carefully while keeping them aloft in the air or on the ground

1:38 if you get hit right in the moment when nightmare sets off the explosion it makes like BOOOOOOOM and your opponent flies all over the arena...

believe me, it works!

try to set your AI opponent in training mode to free style and make him attack (free style settings --> attack --> *B,B* or *A,A*

after that just spam that "explosion" (A+B)

and eventually you'll see your opponent fly all over the arena =)

A+B simultaneously, though i fail to see any relevence in the glowing afterwards =S perhaps its to confuse people who may think hes insome sort or super mode or something, theres an ability like start dash which u can activate mid battle if i remember correctly, maybe its to confuse people with that.

he does no extra damage like that so i cant see any bonus, no new moves like that, he loses it after a while or when he gets hit. seems weird to me, use it if u want tho it looks cool =]

similar to the soul charging in the previous games, while he's glowing some moves become guard break attacks such as 66+b, A+B while in B+K stance, as well as 6B~b (just).

Nightmare is a perfectly capable fighter, although I consider him to be a 2ndary character and should be mixed with siegfried from time to time. The same goes for cassandra/lizardman/sophitia ( or raphael and amy )-- all capable fighters on their own, but with moves that are similar(but different) to their counterparts.

maxi has a combo that starts with a guardbreak, the second hit is guaranteed if the first one(the guardbreak) hits.. not every character is lucky to have good gaurdbreaks like this.

Guardbreaks will force your opponent to A)block the next attack or B) try to attack quickly to beat your supposed slower but more powerful attack.

if you haven't noticed yet, Soul calibur is a really complicated game. lol. P.s. nightmare is the shit!

i know what guardbreaks are, and how to use them =P ive only played soul calibur 4 for a month but i know a large amount of the game inside out, have completed all story modes )excpet yoda, i have ps3 :[ ). i just didnt see the benefit in the soul charge effect for nightmare, but its that it turns some hits into GB attacks like u said

and yeah like yun-seongs 6BB against computer AI owns, and doesnt do too bad against unexpecting humans lol

nightmare isnt at all weaker. and they are about the same speed. just different playstyles since they changed nightmare in Soul Calibur 3. nightmare started out as sigfried when he was corrupted, so they had almost identical movesets from the beggining of the series with a few differences, but in 3 they changed nightmare alot. he is way different than sigfried now. they still have some of the same moves, but with nightmare the button combos you use to execute them are different now.
