  • I felt this way this morning and though of this song.

  • you got a sick stone under your ribs, where the heart is supposed to live, sick twisted and vindictive with your windows dim....

  • This song just speaks to your soul. Sad and optimistic at the same time.

  • so sad, makes me so happy... brother ali has that effect, thanks brother.

  • all heart and no bling= a true state of being.

  • 420 likes :D

  • such a fucking nice beat and whistling in the background shit is sooo relaxing Brother Ali is such a real nigga unlike all the mainstream rappers nowadays

  • I wish that artists now had as much heart as this. This is talent, but now talent is how much sex, drugs, and alcohol you can mention in one song. "Artists" now, don't sing. They use a computer and say random stuff. Brother Ali on the other hand as heart, talent, and soul. The three things that you won't see today.

  • @shadowalien21 "Artist's" now....stop listening to the radio you pretentious fuck and maybe you will discover that there are a shitload of good artists out there in the "now". Pull your head out of your ass you fucking chimp.

  • @Hamgammy I know that there are a lot of good artists, but I'm talking about the main stream artists. People like Jay Z or Kanye West, pretty much everyone of their songs are about sex and drugs.

  • @shadowalien21 Who gives a shit about the mainstream? If you actually care about shit like that then shut the fuck up. No one's an idiot here. The truth is being spit right here and you are complaining about the shit on the radio. Fucking idiot.

  • This song has inspired me to finally learn how to whistle. I am 20.

  • It amazes me how people always gotta bring stuff up about other artist. Seriously listen to the music that's being played and just take it in. Ali is Poetry let it soak in your soul and just relax! I mean how could you be talking about another artist, when what you're listening to right now i just pure genius.

  • i just broke up with the man that i was going to marry...safe to say this has been on repeat.

  • Currently trying get over my ex, and that shits a bitch. Its hard living without her, but this song always gives me the strength to keep moving. Never knew learning to live without would be this difficult. But Brother Ali is easing the pain, I'm gonna make it through this. Thanks Ali.

  • @SweepxThexLeg keep your head up brother, you prob deserve better

  • damn the one person who disliked this song or any brother ali song for that matter doesnt know what a real ass song is or should sound like

  • since you never listen to a word i ever said

maybe seeing this door slam will get it thru your head

you dont love me i dont think you ever did

and if you hadnt killed me i stayed for the kid

  • half the song is wisteling along

  • i love ANT's beats, he is a true master of composing

  • I wonder if Brother Ali blazes. It would seem like it cause he's so laid back and wise. He reveals a truth in songwriting that most hip-hop artists don't utilize, and that truth is personal introspection. He will be an impact in my generation's life when we all turn fifty or more. This song will stand out in my life as one of those songs that can bring tears to your eyes. I think the whistling and the bluesy turn reflects that idea. As-Salamu Alaykum.

  • sounds like otis redding on weed =)

    the song chills a lot

  • great video whos the beautiful women in the gold tiny shorts and blouse

  • medicine for the soul for those rainy days, blaze it up people... peace!

  • To the only person who 'disliked' this song: fuck you.

  • refreshing

  • from hiero and brother ali all the way to tool. TairyHesticles yous a bad mofo

  • the beat dosent even matter the words are what matters

  • ive looked up the lyrics to this,

    and they all say:

''sometimes we just outgrow the ROAD that we play.."

shouldnt it be "the ROLE(S) that we play.."?

makes more sense to me, idk.

  • @cmac2191 well thats why you didn't write the song, Brother ali did

  • @crabjuice661 or the people who wrote them heard ali wrong..

  • @cmac2191 its Role.

  • thats the thing about good music

you can always RELATE to it

  • Listened to this a million times, never has it hit me so hard as today. Thick and this this man has pulled me through, absolute respect. Will never forget the day we crossed paths, I hope someone has had as much influence on your life as you have mine. peace

  • instant fav.

  • The first time I heard this song, I stepped out of my house and immediately started crying. No other song has ever done that to me. This is the best song I have ever heard in my life. Brother Ali speaks the truth like no other rapper out there, especially when it comes down to women.

  • just saw him live last night and he amazed me how a blind man can see the world so clearly

  • @noprobbob123 legally blind meaning his eyesight is very weak not Stevie Wonder Blind though

  • man, you listen to Public Enemy's sick beat with 10 million samples and then you listen to this and they both can make the same point with their own style

  • so good

  • i been using Propellerhead's Reason for about 3 years and i wish i could make a beat anything like this!

  • his voice sounds a lot like Atmosphere, all the more reason to love it

  • @sokrchik128 You mean Slug? lol

  • @ryan3169 his voice is like slug's, the sound is similar to atmosphere. sorry.

  • @sokrchik128

i'm not quite sure about this inparticular album, but Ali uses the same DJ as atmosphere. His name is Ant.

also, he on the same label as atmosphere. soooo its gonna sound a lot like them.

  • @Blaqueflame Ant and Slug started Rhymesayers, the label that they are "on", and has a lot of work/influence with the 30+ artists

  • @Cr125rmxr

i know man. i follow them all the way. :D

  • @Blaqueflame sry man, after reading my first post I realized how smug that sounded. my bad man...

  • @edredd701 to fuckin true.

  • @edredd701 "You don't have shit to say? You're just gunna walk away? What kinda man is that?" If they only knew how much strength that takes.

  • This song is so damn amazing. His brilliant lyrics over what is probably the greatest beat I've ever heard.....WIN.

  • Awesome !!

    Best song from the album

    5*

  • Out of all the great Ali tracks I've decided this is my favorite for the time being. And as far as this kind of music not being recognized on the air waves/mainstream media, i'm glad that's the way it is. Ali along with so many other underground mc's are true artists in the purest form, and the music will reach the ones that want to be reached. Thats when our part comes in by showing our love and support by buying a cd instead of downloading. Lets do our part, we all know they're doing theirs.

  • sooooo true but at the times we are at right now it is made so easy to just download the virus and spend the 100$ on fixing the computer

  • Its a shame that this kind of music isn't on the radio. I mean i have nothing against mainstream, some of it sounds alright(except for the bs bay area shit) But seriously, HOW CAN SOMETHING THIS GOOD NOT BE ON THE RADIO

Part of me likes it though, its like a pirates little treasure, Something you know for certain you can look at after a tough day at work.

  • simply great.

  • there's music like this out there u just gotta look, it takes work but the payoff is worth it. i mean it took me like 3 months to finally find this after listening to tupac i figured there had to be someone as good but different style

  • took me a couple of years no joke. i never was up to date with mainstream. but looking at underground hip hops website gave me a few directions i could folow through.

  • you can talk about how Brother Ali should be on the radio but the only way to support him is to show his music to your friends, give him that little exposure you can give and buy his albums...

    one love Brother Ali...

  • How does he do it.. ...i love this track .. my favorite

  • Simple drums, subtle bass, and that sweet whistling. Beats don't don't get much better than this one.

  • when people listen to this song they dont listen to it once they listen to it over and over songs like this makes people feel good about themselfs it also brings hope like some people when the listen to it think they want to write a song and fail listen to this song again the think they can still do it and some poeple think they can make a change and do something for the world. to tell you the truth this song drives me to work out and i listen to it every time when it do

  • everyones sayin how simple this beat is...

it'd be alot harder to make than you all seem to think..

  • Agreed.

  • @AbattoirDream no its really not, i promise. This is just really original and beautiful.

  • @AbattoirDream I know this is a year after haha, but this beat really isn't that hard as long as someone knows how to use fruity loops or other good programs. I've been producing for a long time and I can honestly tell you this beat really isn't that tough to make and that goes for beginners as well. For someone who doesn't know how to use fruity loops or for someone who has no interest in producing then yeah it would be tough to create.

  • @AbattoirDream that is true but besides the beat he killz this song

  • @AbattoirDream Word

  • @AbattoirDream its simple.. doesnt mean its easy.. simple and easy are two different words, with two potentially different meanings. simple can mean its nice and relaxing.. which is what i mean when i say that this beat is simple

  • @AbattoirDream Sick Beat! Simple is some times better...

  • lyrical genius

  • ok listen people nobody knows brother ali hes not BIG yet but once his song reach the radio i can promise you some wack rapper will try to sound like brother ali but its not going to happen

brother ali can start a new wave a music

other than the hard core rap

this is all rappers need to sound good

you cant ever get enough of this

but if you have a rap song with a BiG bass and loud backround it gets horrible after the first 2 weeks on the radio

.this is timeless. ♂ Peace brother..

  • everything on the radio is horrible.. they wouldnt put ali on any mainstream station, it has to be simple, boring and about being in a club. basically it has to be FUCKIN WACK to get on air.

  • Say brother ali is put on a station most likely someone is going to hear it and love it

he tells his friend about brother ali and it builds and builds and then a beat producer is told

he will find out that alot of people are starting to hate the big bass and likeing the smooth ans melow beats

then he will try hard to copy the beat

and another and another producer trys it

    and it build and builds

it could start a minor new wave of music

    just think?????

  • yeh.. right..

a whole scene of ali biters.. dont think so man..

  • Ah, some talented artists get airplay. Kanye and Jay-Z are pretty much radio stapes, and folks like Talib Kweli pop up now and again. "Get By" was a smash, after all.

  • this song makes me feel like michael j. foxx i cant stop moving with the beat

  • This is true musicianship.

  • pure lyricism.

  • I cant get enough of tjis song, he made a simple beat and made it into a masterpeice! you dont love me and i dont think you ever did adn if you had'nt tryd to kill me ida stayed for the kids..

  • THIS SONG DESERVES MORN THAN 2,916 views. SOLDIER BOY GOT OVER TWO MILLION...... WTF!

  • So agree!!

  • its not rap. its hip hop

  • this is the only kind of rap i'll listen to

    it's real

    i love it

specially ali his flows are dope!

  • dope shit man....

  • ali is good music, it aint like little wayne crap he doesnt say the same four fucking words in his songs rarely does he repeat..

  • its a shame that this video only has 1000 views. real hip hop like this deserves to be big. but shit like wayne and rick ross dominates the market. fuck that.

  • Ali is a master of words. Every thing he says, on tracks or even at shows.. it always seem so real. I don't know what it is about him.

  • I love Ali's spoken intro's, always very down to earth.

  • GOD DAMN!!

  • love it kik bak song
