The pillar at Qutabminar Meraulli when I was there in 1985 was not closed in nor did it have any inscription on it nor does it rust ( for being iron) which was not mentioned here 'cos I think they don't know. I believe it to be,after my own tests, a mixture of murcury and iron and another metal.Any further responce would be helpful!
