to stop the disputes about Rodans gender, it's both because there are multiple Rodans, Rodan even star in it's own movie where there are Five rodans flyin aroundm, so you could be playing either as a male or female.

Then, the Showa films feature a third Rodan who is a male.

The Heisei films feature Fire Rodan who is also a male.

Godzilla: Final Wars is the last film to feature a Rodan, but it's never made clear if its a male or a female.

Rodan's one of the few Kaiju in which both sexes of the same species have been shown.

Ok listen I will list all of the girl monsters out to make it clear. Mothra, megaguris, biollante, Rodan (Hensi and Millennium version), Kiryu (its a Japanese girl's name), and Gigan (Showa version)

Not all versions of the monsters are girls just some are

Most people think Rodan is a girl because they assume he is the one that was leftover from the first movie because "the first one that died was male".

Here's a little news for you, THEY BOTH DIED. This new Rodan hatched from an egg that was leftover. He's not the mommy.

Also, Kiryu is not female. IT... is a machine. And if it should be given any gender, it SHOULD be MALE, because the bones built into it were that of the original Godzilla.

I stand corrected on the case of Rodan, but only halfway.

Apparantly both Rodans were "eliminated" at the same time in an erupting volcano, but one survived, and it is never stated for certain that it is one or the other, so there is no solid evidence to support the current Rodan being male or female...

It's widely accepted that he's male, though. I think even Toho themselves are saying that, so that's that.

And Battra is said to be female not male, she is after all a dark version of Mothra, who is female.

I mean, Spacegodzilla looks like he has a vagina (Seriously, that slit-thing on his belly), yet you don't see people running around saying "Spacegodzilla has a pussy! OMG! Its a girl!" Why? Because Spacegodzilla is a MALE and Destroyah is a HERMAPHRODITE.

HE (Yes, Spacegodzilla is officially a MALE kaiju) was either created when Godzilla's cells fell off of Mothra (from his previous battle with her) were sucked into a black hole when she went into space to stop a meteor from hitting the earth, or HE was created when the Godzilla cells in Biollante's spore-form were sucked into a black hole. In the original 1956 film "Rodan", there were two Rodans. One male and one female. In other words, a breeding pair. Both of them were killed. Later on, a third (Male) Rodan appeared in the 1964 film "Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster" and all Rodans since then have been male.

So yes, there WAS a female Rodan. It's just that she only appeared in one film and was then killed in that same film.

Wait, that doesn't make any sense. "kickass" is not a gender. It's a slang adjective that is essentially a synonym for "cool" or "awesome".

Besides, M.O.G.U.E.R.A is a giant mech (IE: robot). It has no sex/gender since it lacks sexual organs and is unable to reproduce. Sure, we could call it a "he" for convience and for anthropromorphizing reasons. But, in the end, it's still a machine and therefore is neither male nor female.

Godzilla VS Mechagodzilla II takes place in an ALTERNATE CONTINUITY which means that the Rodan in that film has NO relation to the previous Rodans. Also, the Rodan in G VS M II is a male.
