  • Is this an Israeli Mauser?

  • how the fuck is it a carbine?

  • @ExtraCarnex Its shorter than the previous models of Mausers

  • 8x57?

  • ...That's like the worst angel you could record from!!! nice video never the less ;)

  • Where did you get it?

  • Try to learn shooting fast, I mean the bolt seems to me like it can be really quickly worked without breaking aim. I mean I fired a Einfield SMLE and Kar 98 and both of their bolts are conveniently positioned just above the trigger, and I was able to get a shot off almost every second without breaking aim.

  • wonder if they have it in airsoft under 30 bucks

  • "it's ma most favoritest guuun!"

  • Was that a stripper clip you put in it? i just got a mauser 8mm bolt action and i though stripper clips wouldnt work. let me know.thanks

  • Why would stripper clips not work? K98's were designed to load off of stripper clips. Unless you changed the reciever in any way there's no reason why it wouldn't load from stripper clips...

  • i want one of those i just got the bayonet for it

  • a humble legend

  • Hey let me know if you ever want to sell. Matt .. Clayton NC

  • rechambering it just makes it a different rifle lol.

  • nice rifle

  • i really want one of those.

  • A lot of people have had the &.92 rechambered to .308 as the .308 ammo is more readily available and less expensive than the 7.92 Mauser ammo. I have a VZ24 7.92 with Nazi markings that I love dearly and am looking for a K98 but would NEVER rechamber or modify either of them as it ruins the historic and cash value of the rifle. I can understand rechambering a rifle but not one of such historic value.

  • looks like a1903 stock fitted to the mauser

  • It's probably a Standard or Banner Modell Mauser stock.

  • @TheKarkolector I was thinking the same thing :)

  • i dont think that the wooden stock is correct...

  • yes its the right stock

  • Why would you re-chamber it as a .308?

  • nice k98 man i see its a ss version

  • no is not he re-chambered the gun now its crap

  • i agree, the K98 is also my favorite gun :3

  • can it be maually loaded like the mosin nagant? ( bullets put in one by one)

  • Yes it can

  • got a Turkish 8mm I love it best gun deal on earth

  • fuck obama

  • Don't ever get rid of that thing, you may need it someday. If marshal law is declared that would be a useful rifle because it uses the same ammo that the M24/M40A1 sniper, M14 rifle, M60 and M240 machine guns use.

  • lol marshal law will not happen in our lifetime, by the time it does come around, that will be the equivilant of a brown betty musket lol

  • Not necessarily, like I said before that rifle (NOW) uses the same ammunition as a lot of current military weapons in use around the world. In the case of martial law and or UN occupation just pick up ammo from vanquished foes.

Weapons like the M14/M1A, FN FAL, HK G-3/CETME, M24/M40 sniper rifles, M60 machine gun, M240 machine gun, just to name a few. If you know how to shoot a bolt-gun correctly in the modern age, will be a great weapon.

  • The K98 was only avalable in 7.92(8mm mauser), The guns you listed all use 7.62x39(.308win)

  • You weren't paying attention were you? This particular K98 is chambered in 7.62x51 NATO (.308 WIN). It was one of many re chambered by the Israelis from it's original 7.92 Mauser caliber. All the weapons I listed are all 7.62x51 NATO (.308 Winchester) not 7.62x39 which is a Russian caliber.

  • Sound wasnt on, and I had my numbers mixed up, I just was given a Krink AK, that does indeed fire 7.62x39mm, no need to get all huffy puffy

  • 7.62x39 is not .308 winchester. maybe you were thinking of 7.62x51?

  • Yeah, I had them backwards. To a limited extent, they do interchange

  • 7.62x39 is the "AK-47 cartridge"

    .308win is 7.62x51

    ;-)

  • I get the 51 and 39 mixed up alot. Its provides for close calls when I let my GF buy ammo when she's in VA

  • where do you buy these?

  • You ruined the rifles history using anything other than 8mm, buy a real Mauser 98k

  • I ruined nothings history, I didnt change it to .308, and I have an 8mm Mauser as well.

  • you got a nice one and yhis one was used by the ss

  • sweet

  • As for history:

K98's were converted to .308 in a few country's. (Israel, Portugal etc...).

The stock of this rifle is'nt German aswell. (Can't tell wat it is exactly..).

But as you can see, it's a nice shooter.... Nothing wrong with a .308.

    I own a genuine German K98, 8x57... And: I love it..!!

  • This is a Israeli rebarreled k98k. The Israelis got large shipments of these rifles which they rebarreled to 7.62 NATO for fighting their independence wars.

  • If he is in 308., this is probably because Israel rebarrelled him.

  • hahahaha "rebarrelled him"

    Sounds kinky.

  • @aryan8715 the germans changed some of their rifle to 30-06 in ww2 so if and when in battle you run out you pick up more ammo from a dead usa soldier or the dead usa soldiers gun and dont say im lieing cause im not my pappy in ww2 carried a 8mm mauser and a 30-06 mauser

  • @gunwiz96

Germands never did any conversions to .30-06.

US owners did fot hunting... There are country's that converted some K98's to .308 after the war, like Israel, Portugal, Argentina (Etc...)

  • @aryan8715 after ww2 the Bitish converted them along with mg42s to .308 and sold them to the Israelis

  • @himmler251 Lolno. The israelis bought the rifles from a few countrys and I don't think they bought any from the British. The Israelis converted from 7.92x57 to 7.62x51NATO in the mid 1950s and into the 1960s since they had recently been granted the use of the 7.62x51 NATO round. If they bought any Mauser's from the British or other commonwealth countrys we'd be seeing some British proof marked stocks and rifles. My Israeli K98k was rebarreled in 1957.

  • @aryan8715 after ww2 the British government rechambered k98s, mg42s, mg34s into .308 and gave them to the israelis

  • @himmler251

Actually, the Israelis bought the guns from companies in Czechoslovakia and Belgium.

  • You should post more of these videos. That was sweet. How much did you pay for it?

  • It was a gift, so Im not sure how much it was

  • best gift ever...

  • @richardrichard07 You can buy them cheap at Mitchell's Mausers. They are real german war surplus Mausers I guess. Never bought from them so I really dont know how legit it is

  • @4thReichProductions No, Mitchell's Mausers pieces together guns and stamps them to make them match. Sketchy business practices, quality's not there, they are overpriced (they have to be, they try to pass off refinished guns as original!)

  • my most favorate is my AR-15 =p

  • How do you get your stripper clip to work so smoothly when pushing the bullets in.

Mine is very stiff, and the bullets will not move whatsoever. Have any advice?

I tried to keep the bullets as straight as possible, but still too stiff, almost like the clip is bent.

  • try buying a new one or go to a gun smith. they might be able to fix it.

  • You gotta admit that those Israeli rechambered K98s got some ironic history behind them!

  • no kidding

  • what kind of ammo were you using?I have been told not to fire factory .308 in mine and to shoot only 7.62 nato because the headspace is not the same on the rounds.

  • why you buy a k98 in .308?????? :( you have to get in in 8x57

  • I have a mauser in 7.92x57

  • wow u dont know a whole lot about mausers do u what he has is an Israli 98k given to Israil after ww2 they rechambered them in the 50's to take 7.62x51 theres alot of mauser chambered in calibers other than 7.92x57 some are 7x57 some are 6.5x55 some are 7.65x53

  • dude i wanted to say that i prefer the real german ww2 mauser! i always prefer everywhere the first and original of everything :)

  • i love the k98 rifles

  • lol @ the ones that didnt come out no wonder the germans lost the war with that gun it must have been a bugger

  • nice gun but u shoot very rapidly lol, how much did that cost?

  • Hey nice gun, that looks like an early k98, what year and code is it ?

  • where u get it? is from some family yours?? look old

  • Was given to me for christmas one year, was bought from southern ohio gun, a dealer catalog

  • this gun is worth it

best rifle of the late 19th cenutry to the early 20th

  • i have a 8mm mauser what do ya need to know

  • man its worth buying just for the recoil

  • how tall is the k98 cartridge and how thisk in cm please comment back i need to know ANY ONE PLEASE COMENT ON MY PAGE OR REPLY THATNK U

  • Im not sure on the actual 8mm mauser round length, since mine is .308, maybe someone can help you

  • 8x57

  • there is an .308 edition too, but its not original from the ww2

  • 7.92x57

  • Now.. Ive always wondered. I see alot of these surplus guns aruond at gun shows.. that are built in WW2 and stuff. I really want one of these, but theyre so old i wonder are they fireable? Im really into guns, but i dont really know anything about how to properly treat an older one. ive always wanted an M1 carbine and a 8mm mauser like this one.

  • Most of them are fine. If they arent bent, or if you look down the barrel and the rifling is still ok, and its not loose and sloppy it should be fine. The age of something doesnt matter, the present condition is what matters. This Mauser was built in 1945 and not taken very good care of, and its still fine. My mosin was built in 43 I believe, as was my Enfield, and those are still great guns.

  • thanks i will get some

  • i got 2 8mm mausers and cant find any ammo for them

  • Cheaper than dirt has 8mm. You may want to go to a gun shop and ask them to get some surplus 8mm from southern ohio gun, a dealer catalog.

  • Good grip, sight alignment, sight picture, squeeze dont pull, ride the recoil. THAT FOLLOW-THROUGH WAS HORRIBLE.

  • When you arent shooting at anything and are just making a video, the drill isnt the first thing on my mind.

  • I have a Czech made VZ74 circa 1950's. Bought it 13 years ago for 100 bucks. You can still find them in most gun shops, depending on make and mods depends on the price. I seen French and Italian Mausers for 80 bucks (those two countries make the shortest overall gun length, prob because their men are short).A German K98 w/o a scope can run close to 200$. Second most reliable firearm next to an AK47, nothing sounds as sweet as the crack of a Mauser.

  • i want 1

  • nice sound.

  • werent the the bullets hot?

  • Nah, the spent brass cools quickly

  • really? because at 00:26 it seems like it was hot

  • Nah, I just didnt pull the bolt back hard enough to eject the spent casing, so I threw it out.

  • nice

  • How much are they and where can I get one? A site would be the most helpful!

  • no, sam98k, that IS a German Kar 98k rifle. The Israelis restocked them or cut those groves into the fore end of the rifle. I suspect that it's still possible if bigguy6100 looks really carefully, he can still make out some of the original German markings. But these are, without a doubt, former Kar 98ks.

  • thats a yugo k98 or a turkish or somit, german ones do not have a dip in the stock nice rifle tho
