I have a quick quiestion,

I just got my KOpro and I just plugged it in. The small LED screen is emitting a message that says Loading... dynamic something something... Does this mean that the unit is faulty? it's been in this mode for about 10 minutes. Any help on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

In addition to Reason's Midi Learn function, Be sure to check out the KOPro's editor software for some really interesting ways to customize the way it works.

@KorgUSAVideos Last i checked, editor software requires a working USB-connection. So you might wanna get cracking on updating the USB-drivers, so they'll actually work, before you recommend people trying to use it. Otherwise you'll have alot of annoyed customers thinking their gear is defect. When in reality it just havent recieved proper support... Wouldnt think it takes 3+ months to update a USB-driver...

@DrumMan1025 Hold down the SHIFT button, then press one of the LOOP RECORDER BANK buttons. Then, turn the PROGRAM/BPM knob clockwise to increase to 16 beats. Note that this only works above a tempo value of 104 BPM.

Question: let's say I'd use a KOPro in a live session. Is it possible to "monitor" or "pre-listen" to a new loop that I want to add to the "track" via my headphones (i.e. the crowd doesn't hear it yet) and then, when I think I nailed it, I'll record it to one of the banks and it becomes in integral part of the track? Or do i have to practice like HELL and do it "first time right" :)

very seriously considering buying a KOPro, however what i am wondering is the capability of the external recorder/looper.... If i understand correctly i can record a guitar loop onto any of the four banks...but what im wondering is how long my phrase can be?... as well as the physical recording mechanism....do i have to hit the record button again when i want the loop to begin looping or do i have a window in which i must play the phrase i want to be looped? thank you for any answers!

@ItsIvanJones The phrase can be up to 16 beats, the same capacity you have to record internal sounds. Once you press the record button, all the banks will blink red. Choose one, and you're recording. It will loop indefinitely, recording the whole time, until you press the REC button again.

I'm new to it so, every Youtube video is a great help as I'll probably find the instruction manual laborious and difficult to understand! This means I cannot use the looper of the k-pro midi synced. Pls try this out and fix it in the next update - without midi-sync the k-pro is not usable in my midi-setup. The midi sync was also one main reason why I bought it - I already have the kaossilator without midi.

Hi! The kaossilator is a great machine I really enjoy it. The fix or re-sample feature would be important - maybe this could be included in the next update?

But the main problem is ONE huge bug - I tried to midisync the k-pro with the elctribe mx via midi cable and with ableton live via usb in all variations(master/slave, slave/master) - always the same problem - midisync works if I change the master speed BUT it drifts away after a few minutes at the same speed.

Anyway I just wanted to check as I'm not really that familiar with the Kaossilators - is it possible to plug an electric guitar into this and record riffs as a loop, and save those to use later on the recorder banks? @loungingaround Yes, that is possible. For best results, we recommend plugging the guitar into a preamp to bring the signal to line level (most pedals/effects processors will do this), and then plug the preamp into the KAOSSILATOR PRO.

1. How many gate pattern types includes it (i.e. K1 is 50)? Can you set your own gate pattern using tap function (that would be great!)?

2. Does KPro have a resample function like KP3? Is it possible to sample in a bank all what is sounding (the other banks + live)?

3. Is it possible to synchronize the start of a recording of a bank like the K1 does? (i.e. all stopped, pressing Rec and when the finger touches pad rec starts).

2. No, the KAOSSILATOR PRO does not resample.

3. The banks are always synchronized, and if all the banks are stopped, holding down one Bank button will "arm" it, but it only starts recording when you touch the pad (like the K01).

2. Correct, Erase Loop is a momentary control similar to the K01, and Delete Loop will deletes a whole bank atonce.

3. No, the KAOSSILATOR PRO doesn't have the Fix/Cancel functionality of the K01... With four Loop Recorder banks, though, you may find that you don't need it.

@doktorfuture I highly doubt so, the iPad has got no sound inputs, you´d had to buy some external adapter if someone ever does so. Plus, it is highly unlikely that someone will make such a good sounding and advanced synthesis engine such as the MMT found on the Kaossilator (you can tell its MMT because one single voice, oscillator can sound as a chord). Plus it being apple your iPad wont last more than a year fully functional and you will most likely buy another in less than two years.

@peasant2general That wonky apple connector has an audio input on it. Pins 5 and 6 are audio in, pins 3 and 4 are audio out. As for the synth engine, one could compile any AU or VST or any code. It's just code. Look at the Korg DS10 which runs on the Nintendo DS -- it's quite good. Plus the resolution and multi-touch on the iPad would make for a more versatile UI. There are lots of interesting iPhone synth apps, and even an Akai proposed hardware/software interoperability API. Future's bright!

Which I really do not like on stuff I would use for music. BTW did you see, no flash for iPad :(
