How are you taking a serious review approach to a crap film like this... you fail to realize the god awful acting (they pause every other line), hilariously cheap fx, the writing is worse than a cheap romance novel, fight scenes badly coordinated, and there wasn't ANYTHING solid about this movie. No true movie fan could ever take this shit seriously without lacking any kind of taste.
I pretty much agree with you on everything you've said. I like the books. This movie is definitely better than the boring book sadly, but the books are better than the rest of the movies in the series. New Moon was kind of a joke. I blame it on Chris Weitz....
thanks for a honest review from somebody who isn't a retarded little girl caught up by the guys in the film! now i know to avoid this shit like the plague!!
Book is horrible, movie is horrible. I quit reading after the first book, and it was boring as fuck. My cousin made me watch the movie, and I was like WTF am I WATCHING??!?
Twilight was really good, not great but very good Fantasy/Thriller/Drama. OK, I expectted more action scenes but I guess the'll do that in the nex twilight movies. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Billy Burke did a good job!
"I am a Vampire, I am immortal, I cannot lov-*SEX!*"
That's the impression I get from the movie. I avoided it altogether for so many reasons. To me, Twit-light might as well not exist and make room for some other vampire series... like Hellsing... or even a 2009 version of Dracula (hey, why not?). If anything Vampire Hunter D could have been a fantasic story to give for a vampire-dramatic-romance-action-sorta movie.
Twilight is the most Boring Vampire movie I have ever Seen, The Dialogue is So Clichéd and worst of all the Acting is Bland, there seemed to be barely any emotion shown from every character in the film.
There are far better vampire movies out there than Twilight.
I think that was the Idea, to make it Cheesy for Comedic Purposes and It worked.
Near Dark is also a great movie, It Came out Pretty much on the same day as lost boys, and some people actually consider it a better film in terms of style. the movie is like a Western with Vampires.
Too sum it all up, I liked them both, as they both are totally Different in tone Lost Boy's to me is a Comedy/ Horror
Very fair review. I like how you didn't attack it without explaining yourself. The books are supposedly even worse because it's page after page of the same old thing.
But as always, a good review where you didn't just go "DIS MOVEE SUX SUBSCYB!"
yea she looks hot but also like she couldn't act her way out of a bag....hollywood along with every other form of media has become a beauty contest instead of a showcase of talent!
i think that u sitting through both movies almost in a row, it is amazing and possibly deadly to any of the male gender, but in your quest to review movies you sat through the shit and the awesome this year. keep it up
If I wanted a good teen vampire flick, I would see "Let The Right One In". They say it's 10x better than Twilight even though they're both based on a book.
The fact that they represented vampires as complete pussies. When I heard that Twilight was a movie about vampires I thought "Awesome, can't wait to see vampires killing each other in a blood frenzy, or at least that involves violence and that represents what they should look like". As soon as I saw the first 30 minutes of the movie I started banging my head against a door and try to forget what I saw. Alas, the only thing I managed was to break said door and make my forehead bleed.
people are like ''OH MY GOSH THIS MOVIE IS LIKE SO AWESOME THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN IT.'' Those are mostly girls, but personally I dis like the movie because it is so slow and boring.
wow my respects that you actually sat down and watched it on our own, i was forced and honestly, I died a little inside after watching that piece of crap
It was tough to get through. It picked up a little toward the end, as I said. If the bad vampires actually were after Bella from the very beginning, the movie may have been interesting... because then -- Edward wants to suck her blood, but can't because he loves her, and then James/Victoria/Laurent will be on her trail, hunting her down -- it would have had the depth the movie needed.
i have no clue .. but it dose drag on and on and on .. and alot of the stuff is pointless as you sad. . i haven't seen the movie and dont plane on it =). i enjoy your revues thank you
It's written a bit like a fanfic, cheeky dialogue, fluff, all of that. Most of the awards it won didn't seem to be really respectable awards, though I'm not sure. I don't know what those awards were based on, but I don't think they were based on quality. And I guess every girl wishes they could have some semi-invincable prince charming vampire guy stalk them and protect them.
Roger Ebert makes a good point that the whole story of the series is a metaphor of chastity. Edward wants Bella's blood so badly, but can't because it will be dangerous/he cares for her so he holds back (i.e. boy wants sex with girl, but cares for her and holds back) Girls this age eat this up because they can relate to this and or want a guy like that because they don't know about the confounds of how love really works yet. Fairy tale love is strong at that age.
True, but older females also love it too. The first book in the series is pretty much like the movie, a lot of explaining with no real point. I think in their effort to keep the movie like the book(to keep the fanbase happy), they were restrained to do anything to give the story more depth.
It appeals mostly to a female audience (obviously) but I think it could have have found a way to appeal more to guys too. If they just had the evil vampires hunt Bella from the beginning, and maybe learn more about them, it could have been slightly better. Edward's a pussy vampire -- not the kind of vampire's I've grown to know in folklore.
How are you taking a serious review approach to a crap film like this... you fail to realize the god awful acting (they pause every other line), hilariously cheap fx, the writing is worse than a cheap romance novel, fight scenes badly coordinated, and there wasn't ANYTHING solid about this movie. Really?? Again, I don't know how it can win any awards with that many problems.

I believe the fact that Twilight books are getting awards of ANY kind, is just another signal of worldwide culture slipping into oblivion.

Edwatrd: so you will be depressed for the next 12 chapters.

Pretty much the movie as well, but it's more like:
Bella: why are you leaving me?
Edward: So the werewolf guy can prance around without his shirt. I'd just get in the way.

just as a warning: the books is about the same as the movie. (seriously, the film is almost ripped page by page from the book)
and thus it proves my point...... people only like twilight cause they think Edward is "hot" (bleh)
