this has been going on for at least 17 years because when i was a young child i had an orca and a sealion toy and they were best friends and my parents told me in the wild they dont play so nice together :P so this is really old news

yes they eat what they want,but when we take what they want and do not replenish the supply so they eat other things, I think mankind needs to stay out of the oceans and stop polluting it with trash,Humans should not take anything from the ocean it does not belong to you!

I think it should be a world wide law Commercial fishing should be stopped..

if they want fish they should have farm raised the fish and give half if live fish back to the ocean that has been selfishly misused

Yeah and did you ever think that catching one million tons a year of their main food source might also kill sea lions as well? And actually, most orcas eat fish, but when you overfish their prey, too, they start eating mammals. And that's one more level up the food chain, which means more mercury poisoning.

killer whales do eat sea lion and they also play with them sometimes killer whales throw the sea lion in the air to practice for a harder attack, sometimes killer whales bring sea lions back to shore

People killed sea lions for thousands of years, and in the last hundred years we have become conservationists and think sea lions are cute pets and shit now. So the population grew... Killer whales having also been a long time hunter of sea lions probably caught on to this and just eat the fuck out of them now.

Considering orcas have been om-nomming sea lions without making them extinct for longer than we've even lived in the region... yeah. Somehow I don't think they're the likely culprits for a sudden catastrophic decline in sea lion populations that coincides nicely with an increase in fishing activity. Pull the other one.

Oh my god, they're just doing what nature calls upon them. It's in their blood; it's nature! Orcas eat fish, sealions, other sea mammals, and they've also been known to eat other whales; not that big of a secret.

Okay... who told the narrator that Orcas don't eat sealions... he made it sound like they were commiting some sort of crime, when any "coexisting" between Orcas and Sealions would be that of predator and prey...

Blaming the Orcas is just stupid especially when it is known that fish populations are dropping, fishermen just don't seem to notice because they can always fish in deeper waters, Sealions can't, so who's really to blame?

Okay this just is stupid! Fishermen are getting confronted about a sea lion problem and who do they blame? Whales! It says whales/lions coexisted but whales go by instinct and instinct obviously is telling them to eat the sea lion. Whales eat seals, everyone knows that, so why not sealions? Its simple ecology; if whales depend on sealions for food, and there aren't enough, then whales will die off, allowing the sea lion population to take over. Whales cant be the scapegoat for greedy fishermen!
