@harshserf2 .hack all across the world has a cult following at best and as mentioned b4 its a pso clone in terms of design. the only way the .hack series can be a decent mmo is if they use the xbox live network and use a more refined kinect system for combat movement. have a fmd system where your eyes can help detect menu movement. and wireless wii mote. one side being nunchaks and the other the movement stick. both wireless.

@Treychik you don't. you need a modified PS2. I can't remember if it works with ESR or not. I think it did, but I could be wrong. Give that a shot. You need a way to install Free MCBoot though. Google it.

@rkuchiki you can always use swap magic coder disc. dont need to modifie your console for it. and there is USB Advance or Extreme - its for USB and its basically the same thing as MCBoot, but its loading from disc on which MC is installed, and from USB where you store games.
I still think they should put this game back ONLINE, in the U.S.A., and maybe have a event where in the 1st full week (7 days) of every month, the "Morgana" Factor will happen for the week, where all the towns look hacked, more protected areas & data bugs, and you even get to fight the 8 phases & Cubia.

The real reason as to why the game was discontinued was because of a sudden missing person's case that appeared in japan. He had been playing in The World for quite some time and suddenly he disappeared without a trace. The media was kept quiet by the company.

No, that's not correct! I don't know where this idea came up from. In fact, its the complete opposite. It was so popular they even kept the servers open LONGER then was scheduled. This game was just a test and they had announced it from the beginning when the servers would be closing.
I'm sure they had been considering pursuing a full online adaption of The World sometime later in the future but for one reason or another chose not to. I wonder why. The demand was certainly there. how disappointing, you just pick one of the premade character models from the .hack// quadrilogy. i was totally pumped to see all the possibilities, but this is lame. there would be a million kites and blackrose characters running around, just with different colors.

Why do two of the three female Heavy Axemen look like they cant hold up their axes (specifically the "Subaru" designs). Subaru never looked that pathetic. Regardless I wish I could have gotten in on this before it closed down.

No, that's not correct! I don't know where this idea came up from. In fact, its the complete opposite. It was so popular they even kept the servers open LONGER then was scheduled. This game was just a test and they had announced it from the beginning when the servers would be closing.

I'm sure they had been considering pursuing a full online adaption of The World sometime later in the future but for one reason or another chose not to. I wonder why. The demand was certainly there. Every time I pop one of my .hack games in my PS2 for a spin I always think ''Now THIS is what online gaming should be all about''

if they want to make this right they have to fix graphics, character choice(and i mean something complicated that makes it impossible to have someone look like you) , story, game play, add more maps and add the head sets and the movement going with it...but alas i dont think its possible at the time lol, how about actually getting in you in the game XD thatd be fucking awesome like metrix but im just going crazy now lol

form my idea in seaching on this game i found out this was a test to see how the players would act and i say it was bad but by this time afther hack//GU they are geting better but its hard to chag to a other console because of the 8 games play and sold with ps2 so its possable it well come out in pc but headsets are out / they try headsets and a tester on it got brain damge so it well not come soon with that + the game is coming back but in 2016 and by that time they got a lot fixed

i can under stand why they would cut this, dot hack was all about plot. its gameply was average at best but .hack//gu although sacificeing some plot value they created a awesome battle system i bealieve if they made another adempt they would surely succseed this time in making THE WORLD an actual online game. the only thing that stoped them was the bad gameplay for dot hack with that sovled wats to stop them it would be a huge hit of course they would have to modify things a bit but its obtainbl

how disappointing, you just pick one of the premade character models from the .hack// quadrilogy. i was totally pumped to see all the possibilities, but this is lame. there would be a million kites and blackrose characters running around, just with different colors.

I agree with you for the most part I dislike the high likely hood that will meet a character that is EXACTLY the same as you I enjoy .hack and stare at the very possible MMORPG with a lust that only gamers know but I realize now that it could be done now but I believe until designers wake up Requiem kicks ass

think about it. why did they stop it in japan? its because the game was crap. lame PC creation screen,lame area creation system, you couldnt play the online unless 3 people were with you.the game was nothing short of bad
