The Toyota 3.5 is NOT a very good motor! My 2005 Avalon has a major knock at 60,000 miles, and my friends RX350 that has 43,000 has the same slappy knock! I highly doubt either of these engines will see 100,000 miles. We both use Mobil 1 and change it before recommended intervals. Next vehicle= Honda!!!!!

@importcarfan I just got it back from the dealership a few days ago because the tranny was acting up. They rebooted the computer for it, checked the knock and told me it was normal, and within spec. Honda, here I come!

Lexus is the best. I just got my 2010 Rx 350 today and it's my 4th lexus. After driving 3 lexus's i started looking at BMW x5, Porsche cayenne, and Mercedes ML350 and i test drove all. In my opinion, the RX is the best crossover family suv. However, The LS is not the best family sedan, the S550 mercedes is.

i just went to get the RX350 fixed today for the engine oil leak. It took about 4 hours. But that's ok because i needed to go to another car dealership for 2nd car lease so Lexus gave me a courtesy loan car. They gave me a 2010 Rx350 with no navigation so it was hard for me to find the Mercedes dealer. I had to ask around. That's why i always get w/ navi. Glad i got that oil leak fixed.

Actually, the new Volvo XC60, Mercedes GLK, Audi Q5, Infiniti EX35, Cadilac SRX, BMW X3, Acura RDX to name a few all have 6's or turbo 4s and are not available with a V8. The Lexus RX is right in the heart of that class.
