One thing that's always been on my mind with these electric cars is gearing. On a regular race car you'd have the gears to go through, gathering speed/power. While Electric power should be instant, which has got me thinking. Does it just have a Reverse/First gear? No Reverse and only first? Or are they setup with 4/5/6 gears like a regular car?
Only ig problem with having a full field of electric race cars in the future is all the noise will be gone :(
This is a private test of the KleenSpeed development car, in August at the Reno-Fernley raceway in Nevada. The track record for the gas version of this car is 1:17. The KleenSpeed car turned a 1:22. There is still much more left in both car and driver at this point, but we won't speculate on what ultimate lap time we could turn yet. The on board computer registered a top speed of 136 mph. Track temperature was in the 100's F.

@Bigrtftw just direct gear...reversing can be done easily with electronics to an AC motor... In fact, you could make It go as fast backwars.
