Lizzie probably killed her stepmother during an epileptic seizure and killed her father so that he wouldn't know she had killed his wife. It's a sad tale of a sad, unhappy family. All of the evidence points to Lizzie killing her stepmother because she hated her and because her stepmother was given property that Lizzie felt should have been hers. Today she would have been found guilty, but a male jury at the time couldn't conceive of a woman perpetrating such a vicious double murder.
@lordanne6 "how is Lizzie's sister the culprit she wasn't even there when her stepmom and dad got killed"
How do you know? "Emma Bordon was staying with the Brodells." --- never verified, never checked, simply an accepted statement at the time. She had motive (inheritence money) and was quick to file as executrix of the estate after the murders.
Im guessing that the people who have a problem with this video, are people who have never bothered to read any of the five hundred books written about her and the case. She was aquitted of the crime.
@emmers57 how do you know? i know my own picture, how dare you say its not me...hehe (oops wrong video with wrong comment) i must of skip video by mistake damn computer to fast...lol
@emxloveeXD Ok.. slow down. Nobody knows she really did it. There is always an alternative, so don't go bitching on other people's pages just because you have nothing better to do. I think Lizzie did it, but I also think she was a good person and there was something else going on with her and her parents.
@emxloveeXD Lizzie didn't deserve to die cause we didn't know who did it and also we didn't have the technology we do today so who knows who did it sorry im being smart but i just looked this up yesterday i didn't even know who she was until yesterday 7/13/11 is when i found out

im so glad u made this! everyone else looks at her as an evil little bitch but her life was hell! no one knows what she was thinking. if i had to do a report on a fave historical figure itd be lizzie
@ripperasylum Not being smart here, but look at the youtube site which shows compelling evidence of Andrew's son having commited the murders. Look at the transparent photo of the son superimposed over a photo of Andrew, it is a 99% match. Been reading about this case for decades, alway thought the old girl got away with it, now I think that she was innocent. The son incidently was, per people who knew him, very odd as he almost always had a hatchet with him which he kept in a cloth bag!
Guilty as hell. lol at the people who are commenting that her parents deserved it because they weren't nice. Yeah, they deserved to be hacked to pieces with an axe. lmao.
If she did kill her parents I don't blame her. Her father was cheap and only gave her 200 dollars a year to live on. It was also said that his abused her. As for her stepmother Abby I feel bad for her. When Abbey first married Andrew she was a pretty 36 year old with a thin figure. Andrew was said to have only married Abby so his daughters would have a stepmother to look after them. When her stepdaughters rejected her kindness and Andrew hardly showing any love.
She gave the skull that was evidence to her attorney, the skull of her FATHER....I don't know that this would be a dignified manner in which to pay tribute to your dead father.......her detachment yells GUILTY!
Let's face it. She was guilty as hell. The jury was too genteel to convict her, but, I watched the movie that had Elizabeth Montgomery as Lizzie. It was pretty accurate to the facts. Lizzie and sis were about to be cut out of the will. I think either Liz waited for sis to go on her trip, or she was in on it. If sis had not shown up at the friend's it would have been known at the trial.
agreed. plus it was 1892, of course they didn't have the forensics ability to prove it. why would she burn the dress she had been wearing? unless it had blood on it. why was the handle of the axe broken off? hmm... it had blood on it maybe? she was not innocent.
same reason people do tribute to Gangsters and outlaws and such whether we like it or not it`s legendary! But i admit i`m always interested in stuff like her!
If I were on the jury, it would be the only logical conclusion. She had motive, (single lady, hated her stepmom, etc) she had the opportunity, (maid was occupied), she tampered with evidence, (dress, axe which fit the wounds), she did not have an alibi (in the woodshed?), The evidence is circumstantial, but, there is plenty of it.
Her other motive was money. She inherited a great deal of it. And she said she was out in the barn at the time of the murders, but the barn was covered in dust with no footprints. The murders were vicious with multiple blows suggesting a personal connection, and a few days after the murders, Lizzie burned a dress with brown stains on it - the color of dried blood.
Yes, i completely agree with you, she had good qualities, and besides, she was found innocent. And I truly believe that anybody who is kind to animals can't be very wrong in other ways. Also, she didn't overburden the earth with a lot of children.
Our fascination with vilified people is wierd. We dspised what the did, but we still are fascinated. To those who think she did or did not do it, it doesn't really matter anymore. She's dead, but she'll always be remembered whether you like it or not.

I'm about to play Lizzie in my drama final, it's such a fascinating case. i think if we knew one way or another if she did it, it wouldn't be so interesting. i'm not entirely sure if i think she did it or not. fantastic video and great picture quality.
Well i am not lying when i say this but i know a lot about her because i am realted to her and we have one picture of her and some of my old realtives

I have just found this vid. I do not think Lizzie did it, where are all the bloody clothes? Victorian women did no heavy work, this kind of murders needed a strong person. Unsolved murders are interesting; Jack the Ripper, modern-day - Sam Shepard (Cleve. OH) ??
um...she was seen burning a dress that she said, "had a stain." thats where the bloody clothes are. they found teh hatchet in the basement. Also, she was not a small woman. In fact, she was rather large...she did it, but she was a woman in an era where women didnt do that. yeah...she did it and got away with it....
she was found when she screamed saying " FATHERS DEAD" and the AXE was found in the Tool Shed not to mention she was rather small. her alibi was she was peeling pears at a bar also. and i agree with CharTres1717. i dont think lizzie did it either. i think it was the maid who killed them all then committed a murder suicide act. its been done like that before by many people so before you go on being a smart one study this subject better and get your facts straight.
Hell what if she did do it? It's frightening to think about someone hating there parent or step-parent enought to kill them. Thank God my step-father was a great man before he died last year.
Very touching! Whether she did it or not is now left up to each of us to decide. The music here shows what a tragedy the event was, and how tragic many parts of the rest of her life were.
i wouldn't say shes a hero though. i mean come on, she wasn't a great person was she? she didnt do anything good for humanity. she was accused of killing her parents thats hardly grounds for admiration.
She is a legend. Will you or I be able to make that claim many years from now? Probably not. I admire her because she held her head high against all adversity until she breathed her last breath. I salute you Lizzie!
i got a decent grade on it, and then the teacher said i should have joined the school magazine so i guess she loved it, i just had a lot of grammar mistakes lol! but i think Lizzie Borden is cool. it's still a sweet video too! :)
i tried to read the book about that gives a day to day, hour by hour account of the days leading up to and the day of Lizzie Borden's parent's murder.... and it just... made me ill. i couldn't read it. i got to the part of the day before, or i think it was earlier in the day of the murder - when the parents ate more of the mutton & got sick again. :/
My family is originally from Fall River, Massachusetts. My great-grandmother - who I knew well as both she and my great-grandfather both lived into their 90s - worked as a maid in the households of the wealthy Protestants (our family is Catholic) from 1912 - 1919. At one house the head maid was formerly employed by the Bordens, and was the person who discovered the bodies. Just a bit of family trivia. Oh and by the way, she told my great-grandmother that she was convinced Lizzie did it.
Wonderful film. I visit Fall River every year and stay at the Lizzie Borden B&B. Guilty or not, Lizzie Borden is a woman of her time and all time. You have presented her here with great taste and care.
lizzie definately was a fascinating lady. so many unanswered questions that will never be resolved, no doubt speculation will continue forever .anyone view the movie where elizabeth montgomery played lizzie?
I saw a movie years ago about Lizzie Borden...If I am remembering correctly it was Elizabeth Montgomery who starred in it. Nice tribute there mister :o)
With respect, I find this sort of creepy and scarey, yet interesting at the same time. She was a beautiful woman wasn't she. So sad to hear of her story if in fact that was her story. Thank you for sharing this picture journal! :)
Great tribute! I haven't thought of Lizzie Borden in years. I don't think she did it. I think she and the maid planned it, but I have no idea who actually killed them. Fascinating case! Where are all the "channellers" to channel Lizzie and fill us in on what happened?? :-)
where did you get all of these pictures and this video and did you know that she had 3 bostonbull terriers they were donald stuart ' royal nelson and laddie miller and 1 cat and her favorite colors are violet and royalblue
I know you can actually stay at this house which is a B&B now! It costs more to saty where the murders took place!Do you think that she did not do it?? 5 fascinating stars!
I hope to stay there someday. I like to believe Lizzie didn't do it, although there's a strong possibility she either did it, or was at least involved in some way.

she was found when she screamed saying " FATHERS DEAD" and the AXE was found in the Tool Shed not to mention she was rather small. her alibi was she was peeling pears at a bar also. and i agree with CharTres1717. i dont think lizzie did it either. i think it was the maid who killed them all then committed a murder suicide act. its been done like that before by many people so before you go on being a smart one study this subject better and get your facts straight.

She wasn't "large".
She was medium size.

Hell what if she did do it? It's frightening to think about someone hating there parent or step-parent enought to kill them. Thank God my step-father was a great man before he died last year.

Very touching! Whether she did it or not is now left up to each of us to decide. The music here shows what a tragedy the event was, and how tragic many parts of the rest of her life were.

im performing as Lizzie in a play on monday.
its gonna be sweet.
i wouldn't say shes a hero though. i mean come on, she wasn't a great person was she? she didnt do anything good for humanity. she was accused of killing her parents thats hardly grounds for admiration.
sarahjoannekay 3 years ago
She is a legend. Will you or I be able to make that claim many years from now? Probably not. I admire her because she held her head high against all adversity until she breathed her last breath. I salute you Lizzie!
clockmakers55 3 years ago
Why'd you make a tribute to someone accused of killing her parents?
annieandtabithafan1 3 years ago
Accused, yet found innocent!
clockmakers55 3 years ago
That's good.
annieandtabithafan1 3 years ago
This was good I'm also doing a project on her.

How did you do?
clockmakers55 3 years ago
i got a decent grade on it, and then the teacher said i should have joined the school magazine so i guess she loved it, i just had a lot of grammar mistakes lol! but i think Lizzie Borden is cool. it's still a sweet video too! :)
problemchild53 3 years ago
i tried to read the book about that gives a day to day, hour by hour account of the days leading up to and the day of Lizzie Borden's parent's murder.... and it just... made me ill. i couldn't read it. i got to the part of the day before, or i think it was earlier in the day of the murder - when the parents ate more of the mutton & got sick again.

Extremely interesting "family trivia" Rob. Many thanks for taking the time to comment.

Wonderful film. I visit Fall River every year and stay at the Lizzie Borden B&B. Guilty or not, Lizzie Borden is a woman of her time and all time. You have presented her here with great taste and care.

Wow, I would love to visit the inn! How was your experience? Any ghosts there, as legend goes...?

lizzie definately was a fascinating lady. so many unanswered questions that will never be resolved, no doubt speculation will continue forever .anyone view the movie where elizabeth montgomery played lizzie?

With respect, I find this sort of creepy and scarey, yet interesting at the same time. She was a beautiful woman wasn't she. So sad to hear of her story if in fact that was her story. Thank you for sharing this picture journal! :)

Great tribute! I haven't thought of Lizzie Borden in years. I don't think she did it. I think she and the maid planned it, but I have no idea who actually killed them. Fascinating case! Where are all the "channellers" to channel Lizzie and fill us in on what happened?? :-)

I hope to stay there someday. I like to believe Lizzie didn't do it, although there's a strong possibility she either did it, or was at least involved in some way.
