Put him on a team where he doesnt have a running game or a defense and see how good he is. Marino is probably the best pure passer ever to play the game. Quickest release, could zip in all the tight spots but also had incredible touch and the ability to glide passes in on target. He was also extremely underrated in his footwork. By no means athletically quick-footed, but he had an instinct in the pocket to avoid the blitz long enough to get rid of the ball. I rank Elway higher for various reasons, but Marino deserves to be right there next to him.

Truly people measure success differently and I understand that. There were many factors working against Dan and the Dolphins during his time. Dan Didn't allow 38 points in that game. That's the truth. No running game, no defense, a stacked Bills team in the early 90's, and mediocre receivers all worked against him.
