will a nickel from 1964 work?
coloradude1 2 years ago
yes any coin should work but try to stick with non-magnetic ones because they have a content of steal in them which maked them very hard to work with

just found out that the old 50p coin is made of Cupronickel which is a alloy of copper 75% and nickel 25% it will make your fingers green.

Hi, I used sand paper to make the hole bigger until it was the right size. It takes a long time but it works well.

Hi,
There are two things to take in account:
- You need the right coin. I chose an old UK 50p coin and it was hard work. An old 90% silver half dollar is much better suited for this.
- You need to tap the coin very gently and rotate it constantly. It takes a long time, so it needs patience.
Good luck!

is that a old 50p in the video? because i got a couple of them..

hikeytube i used a nail to hammer throgh the nail and used a file to do the reast
rtarddude 4 years ago
Good tip. However what was the material of your coin? Mine was a thick 50p coin, not a silver half-dollar, so it was tougher than normal.
My next coin is a proper 1964 half-dollar, so I'll try the nail trick.
