The morning edition of "People Are Talking" pre-empted "The Price is Right" at 10am for many years. KOFY-TV 20 picked up TPIR for some time. Later, for a brief period, KPIX started running TPIR at 3pm; but there were a few years where Bob Barker was MIA in the Bay Area. That ended permanently once Westinghouse agreed to affiliate all of their stations with CBS (before eventually buying the network outright)- a stipulation of that deal was NO regular network preemptions.

I remember both editions. But the afternoon one later became "The Afternoon Show".

Is it true that this show pre-empted "The Price is Right" in San Francisco?
