I have the pleasure of looking after these bad boys everyday... the tyres on these trucks are 14 ft tall and the engine puts out 4000 hp.. The excavators are massive.... 1000T... what else can i say....
@allistairc123 yeh mate getting busy.. they will be ramping up production this year.. might even be getting another RH400.. coin is good... makes me wonder why i spent 4 years at university...
A good idea for the wheel loader would be a clamshell bucket, like the tracked loaders and the face shovels have, handy for high sided trucks like the coal haulers, shaves precious seconds off the loading times resulting in better productivity.
Funny you ask that. I drove that 2350 straight over the wheel chocks and didn't even know until I drove back out in a landcruiser and saw them squashed on the road. The fitter gave me the allclear to move and forgot about the chocks.
The LeTourneau L-2350, the Terex rigs, and the Caterpillar 797F may be among the largest earthmovers for now but even larger loaders and haul trucks may be built in the near future. Trucks capable of hauling 750-1000+tons and loaders with 100-cubic-yard buckets will soon be used in the oil sands, mines, major construction projects, and snow-clearing operations in regions where heavy snow often occurs.
its the 4th 2350 in the world and the 7th rh400 in the world far as i know. there are 2 rh400's on this site and there is one recently built in africa.
These machines make the largest farm tractors and agricultural implements look like dwarfs! It would be nice to make tractors and other farm/agricultural machinery and implements on the scale of the LeTourneau L-2350 and Terex RH400 for the very largest farms in the world. It would take 2 or 3 large 4wd tractors to do the job that one tractor based on the LeTourneau L-2350 loader would do. I wish LeTourneau and Terex would make such machines for agricultural use.
The largest ag tractors and their implements currently available on the market appear inadequate for the very largest farms in the world which can exceed 60,000 acres. Ag tractors built based on the Caterpillar 994 and LeTourneau L-2350 loaders with their matching implements are needed to better handle the demands of those 60,000-acre farms by reducing the man-hours, machinery, and fuel required to handle the biggest jobs on the world's largest farms.
For the largest farms with tens-of-thousands of acres, even the largest ag tractors and implements in existence today appear inadequate. As farms get larger, so should the ag tractors and implements. Larger equipment=fewer pieces of equipment, less fuel, and fewer man-hours required to handle the most demanding tasks of farms with tens-of-thousands of acres. Ag tractors the size and power of the LeTourneau L-2350 & matching implements can handle the tasks of 3-4 Big Bud 16V 747 ag tractors.
@redmachine1994 For the world's biggest farms and ranches of today and the future, even the biggest farm tractors, such as the Big Bud 747 and the Versatile Big Roy, cannot effectively handle their increasing demands. We need to build far, far bigger tractors and implements to more effectively handle the increasing demands of today's and tomorrow's biggest farms and ranches. Today's production farm tractors are designed primarily for small-medium-sized farms and ranches.
thanks...I don't suppose you can tell me the name of the mine? I'm doing some research into amazing vehicles and would really like to contact them about the letourneau. Any help would be great...
I'm developing a TV programme idea where we take celebrities and give them the world's toughest driving tests...the letorneau is one of the vehicles I want to film with, but I need to find a mine that uses them to get in touch and pose the question...I'll have a look in Western Aus...thanks for the tip off.
ahh, ok, i do know who the mine is owned by, but not the location. what is the name of your production company or what channel is it for? you have got me interested now lol
@Leedsboy100 KCGM in kalgoorlie Western Australia has one, also Saraji Coal mine in Queenslans has 1 to i believe and this one which i think is SINO iron south of Karratha, Western Australia

Hi allistairc123,
Thanks for the very detailed video! Just amazing machines, and the digger is larger because it has to reach above the largest trucks?!
Take care,
