  • Of all the various professional darts players I watched as a kid, John Lowe was always my favourite, purely because he had the most solid and steady form, from his stance, focuse, grip and throw.

    Thanks for uploading this killculture.

  • Great 9 darter, cool as you like, video makes me happy

  • Sounds funny, but John Lowe looked better throwing a dart than any other player i've seen. Stance, grip, concentration; if there's any such thing as a darts stylist then he was it.

  • Before John Lowe hit this 9 Darter it was Jocky Wilson who looked the most likely to be the first, especally when he was the wrong side of the Double 18 wire on his 9th Dart for £30k, again against Keith Deller in the 1983 Embassy which can be seen on my channel

  • Keith Deller looks about 12 in this match

  • Best ever

  • John Lowe jest moim bogiem!!!

  • I think that It's impossible for me! Great game!

  • i loved when the commentator said he need a double 18 for 1 hundred pounds

  • @Lurkzz one hundred pounds would have been way 2 less :)

  • @Lurkzz he said 100 thousand pounds...

  • John Lowe Legend

  • True legend

  • I remember watching this tournament in October 1984. Nine darts of total perfection from a true darts legend. I don't think any of today's top players would go this way out from 141, they always start with a 60 and then shoot for 57 or 45, to leave 24 or 36.

  • That 100k then, is worth about 250K now... Crazy figures!! Considering Barny for 10% of that.

  • it was 1984

  • isnt that bata illic?

  • someone told me he died recently, rest in peace if you have

  • then your naive ;)

  • xD if u have....

but do not if youve not!

  • @dannyboy70112003 he is not died...

  • OMG!! I LOVED seeing this!! John, Bobby, Eric and Maureen used to come to California for the Golden Gate Classic and my family hosted them. We called Keith "Little Keith" as he was too young to come into the bar. I'd go outside and visit with him, since I was "just" old enough to get inside. Thank you SO much for posting this!

  • What year was this in?? i know the power is a undisputed tungsten tickling legend... but ole Stoneface ... he`s the grand-daddy of darts !!

  • I played John yesterday at the Northern Lights pub, Hatton of Fintray. He whooped mine & everyone else's arse!!! He's still got it has ol' stoneface, lol

  • john dont throw lke that anymore

  • that's really cool, but what would darts be without these two legends?

  • so where does p lim stand ?

  • The Paul Lim 9 dart finish was the first on live television. This was prerecorded.

  • the lim 9 darter wasnt live either, the lim 9 darter stands apart for being the only in the world championships untill barney hit his in the 2009 quarter. ITV( 1984)for lowe and BBC (1990)for lims were both recorded.

  • Ah, ok. Thanks for that info.

  • @BobCassidy

Agreed, but this is the 1st 9 dart finish to ever be done in any televised darts tournament, that's why there was such a big prize reward for whoever was the 1st to hit it.

Hats off to MFI for putting up such a ig prize, compared to how crap tournament prize money was in those days, compared to what it is now.

  • i love darts and that was a class video, plus john is a true class darts player.

  • i personnaly know john lowe

  • lowe was first televised , lims was ford at world champs , taylor first live

  • evry 9 darter they say its the first ever telivised 1,tayler did 1 in 2002 n they siad its the first ever telivised 9 darter

  • Lowe hit the first televised 9 darter. Taylor hit the first live tv 9 darter. The commentators in Taylor's video make that distinction.

  • why dont the show lowes 9 darter on tv much

  • " When i was in the Fishermans Club prior to Winter gardens in Eastbourne in 2005 + i said jokingly i remember when jocky Wilson beat you in the Embassy in 82,but Lowe didnt say anything of it, he actually seems a good Guy + his style of throw is spot on, the best style in Darts + this was my fav 9 Dart game to watch but 1st one i thought was done by Paul Lim v Jack McKenna of ireland ? or was Lims the 2nd 9 Dart game ?

  • I watched this about a jillion times..and it's still great..the original 'Stoneface'..John Part called me that once when I beat him at the Hamilton City Classic back in 1996..then the arrogant prick beat Bob Anderson..and went on to become world champ..I'm glad a Canadian won the worlds..too bad it was Part though..thanks for the compliment though John.."Stoneface"..LOLOL..

  • cockneymark.....what a complete tosser (just like all cockneys).

  • cockney mark !!! you absolutaly f...n idiot what a wanker you are,ya retard. your obviously lonely

  • Lowe is a kegend. I was sure the first televised 9 darter was Paul Lim in 1990 tough. You learn somethin new every day!

  • Nice to see the old gimp getting excited. If I`d just won a 100 grand though I think I`d have dropped my trollies for a proper celebration.

  • Deller looks like a baghead.

  • deller was a prize prick

  • I robbed a packet of John Lowe dart flights from woolworths when i was 8 so i could be like him. He was the best of the bunch i think. Jocky made me laugh too though, the fat scottish twat.

  • my mum loves zee lowe....bless him

  • Lowes Is All My School Talks About, He's Awesome, He's A Legend With The Little Boys, We All Love Him, Peace Lowesie, JLO, Brother John, John Lowes, And Dirt Bag

  • incrdible hehe it the hardest thing in sport

  • Just watched an old episode on Bullseye and Keith Deller did fuck all on the "Bonze Bully" round neither!

  • thanks for coming

  • That was his revenge for Deller beating him in the 1983 World Championship on the way to winning it.

  • legend, rich bastard.

  • John Lowe is a darts legend

  • eeeeeeeelectric!

  • what year was this

  • 1984

  • amazing!

  • I have read about this perfect 9-darter game in John´s own biography, but so far never seen it.

Now I have, and it´s amazing that he can do it - with audience and the tremendous stress, coming from the fact, that so many viewers are there, too.

Splendid job, I enjoyed seeing this classic moment in dart´s history.

  • Quality stuff from Old Stoneface. Check out opponent Keith Deller's sportingly crossed fingers as John nears the end of his amazing feat. Great action.
