Just a small, careful nudging at the appropriate angle, every now and then, but allowing the baby to use and exercise its clumsy leg muscles, to try to get up on its own first... Having a baby before and successfully raising him shows, when it comes to dealing with this present small tiny one.

Why are people so stupid laughing when Mother is trying to help her child up to
nurse... then making so much noise and clapping Why can't people be quiet and
enjoy the Mother and her calf. You would think zoo staff would have some brains
to understand that animals love peace and quiet. Too bad that the human brain
has a missing link or two.
