I live in a very liberal town and lots of my Dem friends parse the candidates based on minute differences in gay rights, environmental, constitutional positions. I remind them that my test of a true democratic candidate is someone who is more concerned about the folks working at Walmart for $8.50/hour than the majority of contributors that have 6 figure salaries. If we get more folks like Warner we will get there.
