"Jerk" also applies to Sandy Frank, the man who created this version of the show. Not only is he creepy looking (he looks like he had so many plastic surgery jobs), but his ex-wife (who is every bit creepy looking as he is) called him "an unfaithful creep".
That douche Alfred wouldn't even say "name that tune". He kept saying "name that song". It doesn't seem like that big a deal but it's so annoying that he was trying to cool or different.
@checkthisjunkout Remember-- the host gives a clue to the song in Bid-a-Note, then, they start bidding. That's probably the reason why Diana only bid 1 note.
And I still think "Sweet Alfred" needs a roasting at Game Show Garbage.
Do you have more of these pilot episodes? I know that there were five in total, and this was only a part of one of the pilots. It would be very awesome to see the episodes in full :-) .
Well, like I said, I think Diana was only mocking Alfred just to get back at him for his rudeness. :-) I certainly wouldn't want to invite him over for dinner!
Alfred, I hope somebody saw you in the parking lot and made you a soprano. Hopefully they kicked you in the nuts so hard you puked all over yourself. Asshole.
In fact, Simmons can be seen in the audience during this ep's opening...when Jim's calling the 2 contestant up onstage, he mentions he's "looking for a schoolteacher" (Diana), and Tommy's about halfway down the aisle before realizing he's not the one who they called. :-D
You bet your bippy! My mom would like that part when it got down and dirty like that in the Bid-A-Note. Perhaps, this is a precursor to today's game shows/talk shows! OMG, that dude gave her the Italian salute!
I couldn't name a tune from only a few notes, but I could name a video in a few seconds. I suppose I could also name a tune in lyrics instead of notes because I'm good at memorizing lyrics.
Hey amnewsboy if you have anymore episodes of Name That Tune please upload them up here I would really love to see them let me know if you do thanks a lot
Alfred is quite the asshole.

TVLubber 4 years ago 2
Yes it was 0 in the pilots. On the regular episodes, it was normally one note.
Valedc03ls 3 years ago
Incidentally, Diana was on the premiere of Face the Music some 4 1/2 years earlier...seemed like quite a few contestants appeared on both shows.
WhatsAYak 4 years ago 2
Tommy Simmons did both shows, if I remember right...
amnewsboy 4 years ago
He did indeed...Michael Lagmay, Sherry Lowenstein, and Richard Allegra also did both shows.

BTW, did I just see the pianist's hands hit two keys at the same time while playing "To Sir, With Love"?
