I have the same snare but mine sounds a lot different. I have a coated ambassador on top and clear snare side on bottom. I'm not sure I like the sound of yours but it's all personal preference. I think it was the room you recorded in. It also sounds like there is an effect on it. At about 3:24 the Zep song kicks in and I love that snare sound right there. I'm wondering if there's any way to get my Rogers to sound like that??
@spercoco Its been quite a while ago but I think the difference from the beginning to where you are talking about is I had the room mic up more in the beginning and at the point your talking about I had the drum mic up more than the room mic. I didnt have an effect on it but at the time I was mixing it on my computer and there was a separate app with a EQ and effects that was turned on and I didnt know it and I could not figure out why I kept getting this washy sound.
Thanks again. I have had the same Ludwig set forever and just recently put together a stainless Bonham set. At the same time I really wanted to check out some other great snares. I really like these Rogers snares too. They have a great sound.
Your kit sound so much like JB it's uncanny. The kick is perfect. Well done!
Obviously I must commend you on some outstanding playing as well. Keep it up.
