the menus should slide from left to right or visa versa for a smooth appearance. presentation is very important to the user. seems more friendly that way. when we see popups on a web page pop up they seem to intrude. when they slide on the screen they seem more friendly. Someone has to agree with me. Right?
WinMo 6.5.3??? Lolololol what sad way to enumerate a OS... whats next ? 6.5.3/2 ?? Please release a real Mobile OS not a half baked thing on top of WinCE.... Its very sad that google in 3 years could release a real OS... and Microsoft have done anything... Microsoft please wake up!!!
@nunofelicio Hey dumbass, before you go bashing Windows Mobile how about you take a look at the Android and iPhone OS. Every popular smartphone OS we know of is based on something. WinCE is JUST the underlying kernel to POWER WinMo. Just like how Andriod runs on top of Linux, iPhone OS is a slimmed down version of OS X, Windows Mobile runs on top of Windows CE so Android and WinMo uses the same techniques to stfu.
Seriously, what use other than zooming/rotating/gaming will multi-touch let you accomplish? I like only needing one hand to do everything. Can't hold a phone and use two fingers to stretch with a single hand.
I think that M$ should never tried to implement a stylus-less GUI, they made it even uglier! Clearly they are walking in the shadow of Iphone and Android! This because its not the natural appearence of WinMo, its just an app that runs on top of it!
M$ its trying to keep up with the last trends and don't loose their market but they are failling miserably! They should have made two isolated branches of WinMo. The tradicional, and one with a GUI made from scratch, by some "special design team".
Wow, dude, seriously, if you're going to do a review, make sure to use the phone before.
There was a lot of things that you tried to show like if you knew what you were doing, and you sell the idea to someone who doesn't have a WinMo phone, but... jeez I was getting on my nerves by seeing you touching the phone not doing anything and pointing the obvious about useless stuff D:
If I take all your comments, the only remarkable thing is the keyboard fix.
This reviewer clearly is not familiar with WinMo phones and it shows. 6.5.3 has the zoom magnifier, the top thing is not for apps, just notifications and system tools, that keyboard is not part of WM but rather 3rd party, and mobile IE6 got some great improvements in speed and stability that make it pleasant to use, which he did not demo. He is clearly more used to Android phones - for instance the top bar is a tap, not swipe, action.
Try 6.5.3 for yourself, see if you like it, don't trust him
Nothing has changed apart from the bottom taskbar. I seen the title of this and thought winmo might actually fix the my TG01 Mic Issues - but from the looks of it nada. you can swipe the text messaging anyway on 6.5 - not a new feature and because the mic and sound is messed up with 6.5 on the TG01 (3rd handset) i am allowed to cancel my orange contract for not providing me with adequate service that I am paying for even though the phone and problems belong to Toshiba and Microsoft.
@UnnDunn Everything the Volkswagen Golf does, the Beetle did 50 years ago. It's the way it does it, jesus how retarded are you to not understand that.
Windows Mobile 6.5.3 has been available for quite some time for those that are willing to 'flash' their phones with builds from the XDA forum. The latest builds work very well!!
i hate how microsoft refuses to update the look of media player and allow a separate text folder. i want it to be like a normal phone text app. shows how many text you have and when you press new message it doesnt ask you to create an email
@lotsblocks I love the way Windows Mobile handles text messages. The conversation view shows all the previous texts I've sent to an particular individual, and I find it very useful.
Well since Ballmer confirmed Zune integration with Windows Mobile 7 they probably stopped development for Windows Media Player Mobile and will be completely replacing it with a Zune client. Which would probably be much better for everyone and provide the ability to sync WinMo 7 phones with the PC software.
I hope it has some better autoincorrect and suggestings because the HTC keyboard is no help. It tells you the word you're trying to spell after you input the second to last letter and doesn't know when you've spelled a word wrong. It's a joke.
i thought microsoft killed windows mobile with windows 7 phones.... i guess not
DELMQR1 1 year ago
@DELMQR1 They are going to only be running WinMo on rugged devices for businesses who need it. Unfortunately you won't see WinMo publicly anymore.

The keyboard-swyping (from 1:50) is nothing new, I already have it included in the 6.5 ROM of my TG01.

you could already swish the keyboard in 6.5 and the key board is toshiba's version
