In development, this is what the Thor actually looks like before it got a new design. The Odin has the original design.

The development Thor was very overpowered had nearly 900 hp, did incredible damage and it's special ability can blow s*** up very quickly!

thor is a more advanced version of the odin with more computing power but dosnt hit as hard

At the time that these clips were shown by Blizzard, this model was in fact going to be used for the Thor - but at the time, they were still going with the one-at-a-time superunit idea. Similar to the Mothership, you could only have one of the Thor. And it was going to be built by SCV's rather than at the Factory.

Later on, the idea was scrapped, and the Thor was turned into a normal unit, built at the factory, with a smaller model. This model was then used for the Odin in the campaign.

They dont have that huge area of effect anymore with the 200 caliber guns on his back but in campaign there is an upgrade to get that area of effect and make that abbility much stronger

It's not renamed Odin, the Odin is a terran superweapon similar to the Thor, but more powerful and with 2500 hp instead of 400.

@bigtimbolim you honestly can't go wrong. The game dynamic is amazing. It's much easier to pick up on than Starcraft 1 and Brood War. The game pace is really quick and can change on the dime. In my opinion the best RTS there is available. Warhammer 40k was a great RTS but starcraft 2 dwarfs any other RTS ever made.

tvt turns out mech, but they would really mess up a lot of strategies, so I would actually say a Thor would be instrumental late game mech battles.

against zerg though, this unit is way too costly. A couple of lings would destroy it. Only use in TvZ i see is maybe for it to be significantly behind the majority of your units and to bombard a choke point.
