  • Brought to you by Whale Wars :)

  • What a biased video !! Don't be fooled by those white idiots.

  • @OUTSIDESOUND Have you ever seen a whale hunt?

  • 120 tonnes? Wow...that's not very much. The Alaskan pollock catch is in the 2 million ton (+) range...per year....

In 1985, South Korea harvested 858,471 tons of fish from the ocean. The 120 ton by-catch seems rather small by comparison.

At least the South Koreans are eating THEIR by-catch.

  • @plbuster That's just what was officially counted in the mid 2000s, not what was brought on shore in the dead of night.

  • @CloeBuckingham ??? You have video of this? Or are you just making accusations?

  • Koreans are dog and cat eater too!

  • @olblacks Fortunately, the world have plenty of dogs to eat.

  • @olblacks Dogs, yes. Cats, no. Interesting thing, to walk past a Korean farm. Out front, there are pictures of the kinds of meat they raise. You'll see pictures of ducks, chickens, pigs, and dogs....

Not sure if I ate any dog when I was there...

  • @plbuster what about silkworms and live shrimps

  • "South Korea’s whale bycatch ‘loophole’

"January 2012: In South Korea, commercial and subsistence whaling have been illegal since 1986...

However, due to the high price of whale meat... whales are intentionally killed through drowning and other means or left to die by fishermen when they become trapped in their nets, for financial gain.

Consequently, during the past ten years alone, cetacean bycatch in South Korean waters has accounted for 33 per cent of global whale mortality from by catch."

  • Isn't this video from the 90's? Since the 2000's with the internet, East Asia now knows that whaling is looked down upon.

  • @alonzo9772 No. Read the news, please: "Whale Meat Consumption Rising in South Korea" (Earth Island Journal, June 23, 2011).

Whales are brought on to land and cut up in the dead of night.

You say the video is from the 1990s, but it mentions Mongolia, which did not join the IWC until 2002.

Please check your facts before you spread your propaganda.

  • @CloeBuckingham What propaganda am I spreading? Don't get me wrong I'm very anti-whaling. But I think when it comes to animal cruelty, outdated videos should not be used. They could just dig up a video from the 70's then and say "See! You guys kill many whales too!".

  • @alonzo9772 I am not sure what you mean by "you guys." I never killed a whale.

Whaling is increasing in South Korea, not decreasing.

  • @CloeBuckingham Not saying specifically you, but what they would think about people that are anti-whaling.

  • ROFL, i just checked out the uploaders other vids, they are all ultra-national anti korean garbage-one of them tries to jsutify nanjing massacre LOL. also heaps of typos. just ignore this sad racist troll and hell go back to 2chan

  • @funnyguyagency It is strange that you associate Greenpeace with Japanese Nationalists, when they are usually at each other's throats.

  • @CloeBuckingham ummm...no?

  • Fuck all this retarded shit. Well, if crap videos like his gain credibility, then we mite as well do it...come on koreans, lets all go whaling....in JAPAN >:D

  • @mydogisnamedbean You are a brazen liar. I can google "메뉴 고래 고기" and find the menus of dozens and dozens of South Korean whale meat restaurants on the Internet.

  • Comment removed

  • I much rather be a whale swimming freely for most of my life, then harpooned to death, than live in a shithole my entire life before being killed 'humanely'.

  • @jerz211 I completely agree. Factory farming is torture or, as the title of the book says, Eternal Triblenka.

  • @mydogisnamedbean How was the dog meat?

    Google site:.kr 고래 고기

Gorae gogi is on countless menus, easily accessed online.

  • Korean basterds!

  • Eating whale meat makes ugly! And the proof of it is Japan and Korea!

  • Incrdible how ignorant people are comparing this to domestic raised cattle, chickens etc. These people are raping a natural rescourse, knowing that these are protected, or an endangered species. Try excersising birth control, then you wouldnt have to harvest anything that swims, hops, crawls, flies, swims, wriggles, etc. Its all fair game I guess until they,re all gone.

  • man has no right to decide what species to extinct or conserve!!!

  • japanese and korean fishermen are hard headed!

  • I say we drop a bomb on korea and again on japan. problem solved.

  • FUCKIN SOUTH KOREAN!!!!

  • NUKE THE WHALES

  • Whaling isn't illegal. Whale meat actually tastes pretty damn good with a little ketchup.

  • Sick bunch of fucks.

  • koreans hunt whales. japanese hunts whale and dolphins. but USA is FARMING cattles, pigs and chicken for food in a mass breed area and just slaughter them. how sad is that? u wont see any country being pure. so stop whining =-= watch george carlin. making an animal survive extinction is another arrogance by man kind. pls watch george carlin and then respond to a reasonable statement if ur mad at me.

  • @AnnihilaticJC I am opposed to all exploitation of animals, whether in farms (=gaols), factory farms (=concentration camps), Zoos, etc.

I don't want any animal to go extinct, not even Homo sapiens sapiens.

  • @CloeBuckingham true, but then again, every animal will disappear sooner or later. its inevitable to keep them on earth forever. i bet you drive a car. or ur family has a car. the oil you use for the car and the factory it came from are polluting the sea as well. so its impossible to save them all. whales are awesome, theyre so flubby

  • @AnnihilaticJC I do not have a car. Whether my relatives have a car is something beyond my control. I don't try to force people to follow me. That always backfires.

  • @CloeBuckingham ah i see. but its funny how just a group of people who does bad things can cause a fuckload of people to hate that specific country thinking they all do it =-=

  • @AnnihilaticJC Your comment is stupid, the animals you eat are bread to be eaten, they dont breed whales to eat, they just kill them and eat them, if they can start breading them, then they can eat what they want.

  • @AnnihilaticJC So u complain about the US.

Look at Germany! There is NOTHING like an organic cattle industry! It´s even worse there!

And the biggest German Irony is: We have a boar problem there (there no wolves who eat them so their population grows and they cause a lot of damage yearly!)

  • @AnnihilaticJC Cattle are bred for slaughter. Thats a fact. We can't breed dolphins for slaughter, and the methods of slaughtering them are extremely inhumane. Dolphins are self-conscience about their surroundings, they communicate with eachother constantly through the whole ordeal. They are terrified and distressed for several minutes if not hours before their deaths... alot of them flee and are left scared and injured until a party drags them back in to be killed. Their meat is toxic too.

  • @AnnihilaticJC George Carlin is a comedian. He says things because they are funny, not because they are fact.

  • Too sensitive about whaling.

Westerners, uggh all they want to do is just bullly asian countries, so racist

  • @lolokooza ohhh we have a racist card pulled, best way non-white people defend any action .... it shows when you have run low on reason

  • yeah alot of japanese living in korea for work and want there home town food and yes a few minority is some limited places u can find whale meat, altho its still illegal

  • Allah belanızı versin!

  • Always the asians

  • Whether you are a Japanese Australian or a Japanese living in another Western country I do not care, but I do not understand the meaning of this video either.

  • @SeventhSun What do you not understand about the video? I am happy to explain!

  • Hey thank the GOVT the iwc noaa cca everyone of them are the reason to blame. Educate your selves and see the big picture here.

  • That sure looks yummy. I'm going to korea now.

  • Yes, but it's not Korea as a whole. Whaling is illegal in Korea, but some sick people still want to be part of this cultural representation. Don't hate on Korea, I've never seen whale eating in my entire country before. Besides, the sick creeps who eat whales will die anyways, as large marine mammals are loaded with heavy metals.

  • @PengwonH I understand your point. If you're from a sophisticated city like Seoul, it is hard to imagine the ignorance and corruption of the south. It is the same as in the USA where a white teenager murdered a back man in August just for sport. But you need only consider the corrupt crypto-Communist politicians from the south like Kim Dae-Jung and Roh Moo-Hyun to understand what a place it is. They give projects to the southwest while the sewers of Seoul are in disrepair.

  • Kim Dae-Jung bribed North Korea into pretending to be friends so he could get his Nobel Prize. The Sunshine Policy has been a failure. And what did North Korea do with aid from the South? Build nuclear weapons.

It is the people in Seoul who live close to the DMZ and will taste hell first if there is war with the North. Those southerners never knew what it was like to have your city burn several times over during the Korean war.

  • @CloeBuckingham the north koreans came all the way down to jeju island under the peninsular. they suffered a lot too. i don't get what that point has got to do with this

  • @MrCaptaincommando I am opposed to cannibalism. I never said it was okay to replace whale meat with North Koreans.

  • @MrCaptaincommando There is no such thing as "North Koreans" and "South Koreans." They are all Koreans, and most Koreans would not make that distinction. It is just that some happen to be governed by democratically elected representatives, while others are governed by a hereditary dictatorship.

  • @CloeBuckingham i am a korean. i think i'd know already.

  • theres always gonna be the meat on market if there a small demand, most people in korea would not eat whale meat, its rare please gat facts right this is well out dated, easy to sit back look at an old movie,

  • this video was made in 2005 its old out dated busan has changed alot, the fish markets there is actually clean these days and i have not seen any whale restaurants, there was over ten years ago alot has changed, they have cleaned there act up,go there your self to point watching old docos lol

  • @jasonmumato You, my friend, are trying to mislead. The Korea Times, 2010: "Ulsan is the place to be if you are craving a plate of whale meat. The number of restaurants offering the dish in the southeastern metropolitan city has increased sharply over the past year, exceeding 100, the city government said Sunday. The figure is up nearly four times from a year earlier and the highest since the International Whaling Commission adopted a worldwide moratorium on commercial whaling in 1986."

  • @CloeBuckingham its still rare in daigu and soeul ive never seen, busan yes remember its an asian country, with similar culture to japan so what do you expect, alot are against not eating whale, trust me

  • @jasonmumato So let's organise those who are against whaling!

  • Comment removed

  • I think it's funny how the narrator of this video says "whalemeat is BACK on the international menu"! In case any of you didn't know, it was never OFF the menu. The 1986 moratorium is NOT a law. It's not even a treaty. It's just an agreement that some member countries of the International Whaling Commission adhere to. S. Korea is NOT a member of the IWC . Japan and Iceland are on the commission and never agreed to the moratorium.

  • @The6sicksikhs The IWC has 89 members. North Korea is not a member, but South Korea is.

You will see a membership map by googling iwcoffice org commission members

South Korea agreed not to whale.

  • There IS no international law prohibiting whaling. Whale meat tastes pretty good with ketchup (see my video, if you don't believe). I see it in supermarkets all the time. There are millions of whales on the planet. Most whale species's populations are increasing, these days.

  • @The6sicksikhs "In 1986 the International Whaling Commission (IWC) banned commercial whaling..."

Carnivorous whales are at the top of the food chain, so the meat is highly toxic. Dolphin meat has been found in Japan at 153 times the legal levels of mercury.

  • @CloeBuckingham...The IWC is not a law-making body. A ban is not the same as a law. Mercury? Not a single reported case of mercury poisoning attributed to eating dolphin or whale. Every year, in the U.S. about 90,000 lbs of mercury are released into the environment. According to the EPA, 1 in 12 women of childbearing age has enough mercury in her bloodstream to harm a fetus if she were pregnant. I have eaten whalemeat, I don't have mercury poisoning.

  • aparently japan has boats equipped with fishnets tht support about 40 tons of fish along with those cranes used in large structures to pull them out how the hell would you accidentally pull whales out of the water in fishnets

  • Koreans are the most immoral, criminal people on earth, bar none.

  • what is korean tradition:

    1.eating octopus alive

2.eating and torturing cats, dogs and worms

    3.burying animals alive

    4.whaling

  • @yourtestimonial I didn't know about burying animals alive. Please educate me about that part.

  • assalamualaikum what is this this is a fish or this is a elephant

    i can beleive

  • To TheJcp1234

you actually asking people to try and eat whales!

  • If you want to commit any kind of evil horrible act, whether it's ethnic cleansing, illegal commercial whaling, or cult mind control, just go to Korea of Japan and convince them that it's an ancient tradition and the ancestors will punish you if you DON'T go along with it. Seriously even "respected" MP's and CEOs in Japan believe this bullshit.

  • Great fisheries management.

    Problem: Not enough fish.

Solution: Put more nets in the water

  • @NoOne3234

Problem: Too many damn people who eat fish.

Solution: STOP EATING THE DAMN FISH!!

We actually over fish what we should be, so fishes can't repopulate faster than we consume them. Soon we wont have any fish to eat... humans in their unlimited knowledge should just be building huge fisheries and breeding fish for people instead of destroying what little resources in the ocean that are left. Dolphins really will become extinct if we keep eating all the fish.

  • @VxdVxn A vegetarian diet is the most health, moral, and environmentally friendly.

  • stupid cunts catch all eat them its ok their endaigerd then what eat all the dogs

  • Small pieces fried are better than pork skins....

  • It's not the actual killing of whales that gets me. It's that like all greedy people they take more than a fair share to the point where a resource becomes unsustainable. It pisses me off

  • Fuck Koreans anyway. Now I have a reason to hate them

  • just for the damn money. we will blame them when all the whales in the ocean are extinct.

  • @KaoriProductionz yeh but look how many animal we wipe off the face of the planet

  • everything is a tradition for those small dick mothafckers

  • Yes, that harpoon on the ship in the background isn't used for whaling.

  • @MinecrafterEvil That's right. We use it to pick our teeth. "Move along. Move along. No whaling here." LOL

  • @MinecrafterEvil Whats it for then? Free Dildo ship?

  • @rorycalhoun27 I worry sometimes that Paul Watson may be producing the opposite effect of the one he intended. When you act like a pirate, you lose the moral high ground in the debate.

Personally, I believe whales should be protected. But there is something racist and hypocritical about the focus on Japan when many other nations allow whaling to some extent, including the USA.

Whales live free until they are harpooned. Animals in factory farms live lives of torture.

  • @rorycalhoun27 Some dolphins caught in Japanese waters have 157 times the legal limit in Japan of mercury.

If you want to eat whale meat from Korea or China's even more polluted waters, enjoy....

Paul Watson is playing his games in the Antarctic waters, which are much, much cleaner.

  • eating cow and pig is ok? what a stupid logic.....

  • @dhksrksalem its not ok either.

  • @rorycalhoun27 The issue does not concern the culinary delights of eating whales, but the conduct of a country that officially opposes whaling and yet whales despite the moratorium on commercial whaling.

  • S. Korea, continue to hunt whales...support from Japan.

  • OMG a country lied. That NEVER happens!!! How dare they!

  • chinese eat dog.

    japanese eat whales.

    koreans eat dog AND whales.

  • @M3diaCultur3 Don't chinese eat babies too?

  • @M3diaCultur3 and that is why we are the supreme being.

  • Caucasian who the meaning and either is serious is ..a kind of.. sick.

  • All of you act like you've never seen something like this before.. People in every country are hypocrits, and they do things their not supposed too. Wake up!

  • does anything change stopping whale hunting?

  • @521i Whale numbers increase.

  • @CloeBuckingham ...does anything change by increasing the numbers of whales?

  • typical japs

try to blame others with this propaganda nonsense to hide there sins

hey people watch the movie called 'the cove'

you will see what a sick fucks the japs really are!

  • @NewWorldOrder2050 No one is trying to hide anything. I oppose all whaling.

  • @CloeBuckingham

obviously you are...where the videos about japs whaling?

  • @NewWorldOrder2050 Many such videos are available on YouTube. They tend to be overrepresented. There are many whaling nations: Canada, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Indonesia, Japan, Norway, Russia, St. Vincent, USA. Why do I need to add to the racism against Japan?

  • @CloeBuckingham

actually no its not over represented...

why are you acting like you dont know what your doing?

dont be a coward and show you true color its very cowardly

pretty sad and pathetic if you ask me...lol

  • @CloeBuckingham Ignore the Korean idiot. Japan has been eating whales and dolphins for thousands of years the same way Korea has been eating dogs.

  • @daebob Yes, last reports say 'S.Korea KILLED 3 millions of dogs'

  • @DtorBillAgain The problem is not just the consumption of dog meat but the cruel way of raising and slaughtering them. They believe that the meat will taste better if the dog dies in excruciating pain.

  • @CloeBuckingham Yes, I know this and I even saw it in person... There is a guy who is making dirty dirty dirty videos since two weeks ago against Japan without any proper reason (the curious is, he hides those videos and only shows videoclips (music) to attract people and get popularity. He doesn't want to delete the videos. Next month I have to go S.Korea again and I will tape a new video about what's happening with the dogs. daebob also has dirty videos, he is japanagirl00 and globalk100

  • @DtorBillAgain Thank you for letting me know. So obviously any effort on my part to have a rational discussion with these propagandists is a waste of time.

  • Go watch "Japanese kill 23 000 dolphins every year in Taidji Japan" and tell me what u think

  • @daebob That number sounds exaggerated and false.

I completely oppose the killing of dolphins in Taiji or anywhere else. It is inhumane, and dolphin meat is toxic. Japanese dolphin meat contains 153 times the legally allowable levels of mercury. Dolphin meat is mislabeled as whale meat in Japan, which is totally unethical. But it is non-Japanese marine parks that fund these hunts. If you read my posts, you would know that.

  • people eat everything. what is wrong?

  • @daebob As yourself that after someone eats you.

  • @CloeBuckingham Go watch "Japanese kill 23 000 dolphins every year in Taidji Japan" and tell me what u think

  • Whale burgers taste awesome.

  • @TheJcp1234 Awesome in the sense of giving your mercury poisoning? Or awesome in the sense of tasting like your mum's rancid box?

  • @CloeBuckingham Nah. A different kind of awesome.

  • @TheJcp1234 they have msg. eat strait whale and you would puke

  • Whaling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"In the United States, whaling is carried out by nine different indigenous Alaskan communities. The whaling program is managed by the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission which reports to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The hunt takes around 50 bowhead whales a year from a population of about 10,500 in Alaskan waters..."

  • @qcm7 Thank you. That is my point exactly. I oppose whaling, but I do not believe the topic should be turned into a racist attack on any particular nationality.

  • @CloeBuckingham is that why you have a video uploaded named KOREA'S BONER FETISH. PREPUBESCENT GAY PANTY OBSESSION? There are many ways to bring up an issue to attention, yet you chose a method to disparage another country. Your videos and comments you post show that you are very anti Korean and a Japan apologist. I don't believe you care for the whales at all. Post some more whaling videos of other countries, not just anti Korean vids you like so much. Your actions betray your words.

  • @stabdaback You may imagine what you like, but it is only your imagination.

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!

I will not stand for this kind of f**king bulls**t!!!

its the f**king Japanese who do illigal whaling and even attack the people who try to stop them!!!

Cloe you are 1 f**ked up person and i bet you a freaking Jap who hates Koreans but CLAIMS you dont by saying you are married to 1 and that you have alot of SK friends because honestly if i was your friend (im south korean) then i would beat the living sh*t out of you!!!

idk any SK who would be willing to hear about this bulls**t

  • @nos0323 In all your anger, I could not come to an understanding of what you were upset about. I am aware of the fact that many countries are engaged in whaling, including Japan and Korea. I am also aware of the fact that Japan does more whaling than Korea, and that Japan announces its whaling instead of doing it secretly and illegally. I oppose all whaling equally. I do not oppose the whaling of one country more than another.

  • @CloeBuckingham what does greenpeace and Seashepard say we can eat?

  • Let me guess that is the wrong translation

  • at Coe guy this is a TRADITION of Japan and you don't see the indians attacking western cattle ranches... Yeah that's right we have the right to attack the Japanese. They don't even fight back! We need to end the anti whaling campaign before conflict between japan erupts...

    Ps watch my video

  • @TheNeverNews Japan announces when they whale. South Koreans whale secretly. That's the difference. It's called hypocrisy.

  • @CloeBuckingham you do know japan is the one who kills whales.... and second of all, even if south korea did 'secretly' kill whales, it won't be that profitable because i don't think many people in korea even like eating whales, etc. Japan however loves seafood and especially whales. if watch TV, Japan actually secretly kills whales. I live in the US, and i've heard of countless incidents where Japan kills whales, but i have never heard of South Korea ever killing whales.

  • @FunnyPlace1 Don't you see the signboard with whale painting in the video? Just because you never heard of SK ever killing whales, does this mean SK never killed whales? Whether the majority of Korean eat or don't eat whales is not a discussion point here. Also, where did you get an idea of "Japanese love to eat whales". Most of Japanese don't eat whales. Koreans are liars as always. I must say, Koreans should stop eating dogs before criticizing Japanese eating whales.

  • @tictactogo1 first of all, i am not korean, i am an American. And second of all, you obviously don't know anything about whaling in Japan. If you ever watch the news or animal channel or something, you will realize that Japs kill whales secretly and loves whales. There is even a show on tv dedicated to Japanese whale hunting called whale wars. You should get your fatass out of your chair and go out in the real world sometimes

  • @FunnyPlace1 Who gives a shit whether you are American, Korean-American, Korean, dog-eating gook, etc. You are obviously taking a side of Korea and trying to change the accusation point against Japan. Your sources of accusations are also coming from biased and prejudiced media (ie "whales wars" is supported by eco-terrorist SS). On the other hand, you are defending Korea with irrational explanation. You very much sound like all other Korean retards who doesn't know how to argue logically.

  • @tictactogo1 I don't understand why it's an irrational explanation. If you search on google about Japanese whaling there are plenty of articles and sources about Japanese whaling. I'm pretty sure there are crazy people in Korea that maybe do "secretly" hunts whales, but i am saying that this is a very biased video showing something that doesn't happen very often. I believe in Japan, this happens all the time. If you research, you will figure out that Japanese hunted whales since 12th Century.

  • @FunnyPlace1 I am not denying Jap whale hunting activities. What I am pointing out here is you are trying to shift the accusation point from Korea to Japan fully based on your assumption. (Example; it won't be that profitable because i don't think many people in korea even like eating whales, etc. Japan however loves seafood and especially whales.)

What's so frustrating is Koreans always bring Japan trying to justify their wrong doings. It's Korean issue, Jap whale hunting is a separate issue.

  • @tictactogo1 I fully understand your position. I supported the Koreans because my feelings towards Japan isn't necessarily good. My grandfather fought in WWII and lost his arm in Japan. I'm pretty sure every country in the world does something bad, no country is perfect. Korea is not perfect, so is Japan, China, America, etc.

  • @FunnyPlace1

You should remember that the Japanese government was a democracy during the Taisho period, and that some militarists and Emperor Showa (Hirohito) gained power by assassinating their opponents. Japanese didn't vote for war.

Many Japanese suffered because of forced conscription, and Japanese civilians suffered even more because of carpet bombing, which destroyed 50 to 70% of the 53 largest cities except Kyoto, and two atomic bombs. At least Korea was never bombed in World War II.

  • @FunnyPlace1 Your personal feeling toward Japan cannot justify false accusations fully based on your assumption, unless you can perfectly accept any criticisms or to be called a racist. My hatred against Koreans are based on my experience through the interaction with them when I was in the U.S. and also from all anti-Jap activites that I hear through news and internets in past one decade. I don't mind to be called a racist against Koreans, just because I simply hate them so much, no exception.

  • @tictactogo1

I think you make a good point. I have many criticisms of Japanese whaling, and I have different criticisms of South Korean whaling. But we should not pretend that Japan is the only country engaged in whaling. That would be racist. We can find about nine other countries officially whaling and still more doing it illegally.

The South Korean government fully admits that this whaling is going on; it is illegal; and they are doing nothing to stop it.

  • @FunnyPlace1 Rather than telling us to use google, why don't you just give your references?

  • @FunnyPlace1 What is the point that you are trying to prove here? Are you one of veggie lovers who protest against eating animals? Or Are you whale lover who are dying to be recruited as a member of eco-terrorist? Or simply Korean minded ignorant who wants to accuse Japan for any reasons?

  • @tictactogo1 the first one

  • @FunnyPlace1 Yeah, right. So why aren't you simply criticizing Koreans in accord with the posted video here and trying to shift the accusation point against Japan? That's makes you a hypocrite on top of racist.

  • @FunnyPlace1 I am not sure why you insist the Japanese kill whales secretly. Do you refer to the dolphin hunts by the shore? Whale targets are officially declared as are whale catches. There is nothing secret about it. I oppose all whaling or hunting of dolphins, whether illegal or legal.

The USA and other countries encourage the dolphin hunt in Japan. The real money is made from finding beautiful young dolphins to sell to US and other aquatic theme parks. The remainder are killed for meat.

  • @FunnyPlace1 What do you mean "Japan is the one"? The following countries engage in legal whaling: Canada, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Indonesia, Japan, Norway, Russia, St. Vincent, and the United States. If you watched the video, you will understand that South Korea engages in illegal whaling. Just because you don't like whale meat (or dog meat or whatever) does not mean others do not enjoy it. Whale meat is NOT popular in Japan.

  • Accidental catch can provide for the small demand that the town has for whale meat, and as the video shows, historially, intentional whaling did occur and now it defines their town's identity somewhat so it's quite a big ask to ask them to wipe it out of their lives completely isn't it?

So some old fashioned people living on the outskirts of ulsan eat whale meat, so what? stop unnecessarily offending people and get to the heart of the problem -japan.

  • @porridgesoap There is no accidental catch except for small cetaceans.

You may not have read my other comments. Whale meat from Korea's waters is contaminated with dangerously high levels of mercury. Nobody should be eating it.

If you like to see the whole world hate South Korea for breaking international law and illegally killing intelligent life, and if you like to see Koreans poisoned by contaminated meat, then don't stop Ulsan. It's that simple.

  • Comment removed

  • Um... I don't know what you're trying to do here.. showing footage of japanese whaling ships and their harpoon guns trying to relate it to korea as if we're the same as them

I AM a korean, and I know for a fact that the majority of korea does not support whaling.

  • @porridgesoap If most South Koreans do not support whaling, you should stop South Koreans from illegal whaling, which they pretend is accidental.

  • this is old and s. korea re-enforced the whaling law...

  • @seokyounghwang Do you have any evidence? If the South Korean government really cared about whales, they would stop whaling, and stop the construction of facilities for processing whale meat.
