I was at this concert in Vienna Austria. 100 thousand people. I was maybe 25 feet away from this duet..GNR played the night before. My buds and I drove down from Heidelberg, Germany. What a fucking fantastic weekend we had.

axl always sounds like a tortured cat. bono's nickname is an apt one.
in terms of longevity and critical success, we all know who is the obvious winner here. u2 wasn't even apart of the "grunge" movement, yet "achtung baby" was met with open arms by numerous fans and is known as an alternative rock classic.
"appetite for destruction" has dated horribly, in comparison; sounds like generic hair metal to me. still love "sweet child of mine", though...

Axl's not out of une at all.to me seems ilke Bono let him sing most of the song.Yes...there's no way to compare them either...both great each in his stile.It was nice.For me it's always nice see stiles mixing.After all is all music.

I like all these people comparing Axl Rose to Bono and thinking that you can actually do that. They sing two different styles of music. Comparing them is like comparing Beethoven to Metallica, impossible.

Its funny, two artists singing together, they have respect, obviously for each other, otherwise, they wouldn't be playing on stage together. However, it takes fans to chastise... I mean, how can you say that one is better than the other. Apples and oranges, and If you can, well, your just blowing smoke out of your ass. Both singers have achieved more than most, both have been front men of successful bands, and both have been labeled as great singers. so shut up and listen ass clowns!

U2 is touring stadiums and has the biggest tour of all time now. GNR only has Axl as the original member, and no one cares about them anymore. GNR is overrated anyways.

U2, and Bono particularly, suck. You feel the excitement and momentum of the song building with Axl, and then Bono throws a wet blanket on it with his, "brooding, sensitive-intensity-schtick" that he relies on time and again as a crutch for the absence of true talent. U2 are the most overated posers in the music industry. I don't know how they ever made it as far as they did.

Not only that but by your logic, the Jonas Brothers are the best band in the world because of how popular they are. Bono has NO singing talent and not even close to the same range as Axl. Also Edge is a terrible guitarist who relies on effects to do anything.

The only person with a worse voice than Axl is Kurt Cobain. and maybe Willow Smith. maybe.

@ArtMonkforHallofFame What leaps of logic? Axl Rose has a range and Bono doesn't. Any trained singer will tell you that Axl is a MUCH better singer. Guns N Roses are a much more diverse band that ventured into much more progressive areas than U2 could even fathom. Everything I said about the Edge being an effects junkie is true. He is the definition of an overrated guitarist.
I find it ironic how you are calling Axl washed up and giving U2 a pass.

I was at this concert in Vienna Austria. 100 thousand people. I was maybe 25 feet away from this duet..GNR played the night before. My buds and I drove down from Heidelberg, Germany. What a fucking fantastic weekend we had.

I'm sorry but it was Axl who came 3 hours later on the concert in Czech republic, (twice - 2006, 2010) and he was drunk as hell. I don't think he is the best frontman, I don't even think he is good.
