In my opinion I see Crosby as a more accomplished since he has the cup and the gold medal already. I think over time Alex will win his cup and he'll probably win more rocket richard trophies than Sid, but Crosby is the more valuable player for a franchise that wants to win cups. In my opinion I see Crosby as a more accomplished since he has the cup and the gold medal already. I think over time Alex will win his cup and he'll probably win more rocket richard trophies than Sid, but Crosby is the more valuable player for a franchise that wants to win cups. I think one thing Ovechkin has over Crosby is he's more exciting to watch and he's more dangerous 1 on 1. Aside from that Sid gets my vote.

I'm getting tired of everyone saying that Ovechkin and Sidney are the best players in the league. They don't play defense! If you look at guys like Jonathan Toews, Zach Parise, Danny Briere and Michael Cammaleri, they can really shoot one into the back of the net, but they also cause guys a lot of headaches in the defensive zone. Plus, Ovechkin can't seem to stop taking cheap shots. And Sid can't play great defense.

They just see 50 goals scored and a fluke goal from his back and ignore his great line (Semin, Backstrom, Crosby playing with Guerin and Kunitz and maybe Malkin. No comparison). Not the career PPG average which Crosby has, Shooting % that Crosby also has, 51 goals to Ovi's 50 with 100+ less shots playing with 3rd liners. And if Ovechkin wouldn't go around throwing knee on knee hits and boarding people he wouldn't miss games.

The guy is a ridiculous playmaker and an amazing shot, but I still feel that at this juncture, you want Ovechkin on your team. Not only is he a massive presence on the ice, look at the way he has played this month. He has matured beyond his younger years of wanting to show off and wars that C with a purpose.
