Walter back in the day was Hellsing's top "Garbage man" meaning he was the go to guy to get rid of trash that stood in the organization's way. He was known as "The Angel of Death". When he got older he became Integra's personal assistant/bodyguard/ butler. He sold out to Millenium when The Major promisd to make him young again. Walter both admired and hated Alucard for his skill and his being a monster. So when he got the chance its not surprising he tried to finish him.

He will probably appears in the episode of same number of the manga's volum, as each OVA is a whole vol., but they are running late with the production of the VXIII OVA due soem issues adapting the episodes to DVD to sell the dvd box
