You are very intelligent but it seems that you fail to grasp that anything those guys say on one day can completely change the next day or even five minutes later. They do a freestyle method that is more thought flow then strict data downloading. I often watch their update videos for clarification, because they sometimes say and do crazy stuff. The aftermath can be just as interesting. They learn as they go. For them nothing is writtien in stone. And it's mood based.
I much prefer you ranting for 35 plus minutes on philosophical subjects. Really. And yes, people reveal themselves under observation, except for perhaps those rare people who can really act without their own personal biases getting involved

Yes, I really really am an atheist. I don't believe in a personal god. I don't believe in survival of the personality after death. I reject the idea of a supernatural realm that is somehow impervious to scientific observation. Isn't that enough to call yourself an atheist?
I could as easily call myself a pantheist. A Wattsian pantheist. But I would rather tell my "fellow" atheists that they're being too limited in their understanding of science, mysticism, etc. than explain to "fellow" theists that my pantheism doesn't have a beard or a bad personality or magical powers.
Pretty presumptive. An atheist is usually somebody who does not base his life on the possible existence of a deity, and usually, but not necessarily, believes in a limited conscious existence. The perception of mysticism (which appears to be more true than objective reality) is not unknown to me, but I wonder whether one's true identity can be found through mediation, or whether it is the interaction with that which is not us what defines us and makes us self-conscious.
Consider something for a second. When I put in positive comments, I don't get responses. However, if I put in something negative or defend something, I can generally be sure to get a response. Interesting, eh?

I disagree. We may not know all the facts about each other. But anybody who goes on camera -- you, me, anyone -- even if they think they're putting on an act, reveals their true self. What's there to be seen may be misperceived, denied or explained away. But it's visible.

I have been watching your videos, and you appear to be intelligent. Your videos about non-drama topics are very interesting (and sometimes very long). I would expect a person of your demeanor to be above this fray. I hope you will carry on with topics that interest you, and ignore these petty little turf wars.
I don't have a webcam. I use my Canon GL2 camcorder, recording at 30 fps in NTSC DV (720x480 pixels). I do all my editing at that resolution, using Final Cut Pro. Then, before uploading, I downcovert to 320x240 MP4, .h264 compression, using VisualHub, which is great and you can buy off the web for $23 bucks.
PS: these days YouTube may not even be re-compressing .h264 compression. I don't know for sure, but lately my vids have been posting almost instantly after upload.

Lines are not made of infinite many points... but can be "broken down" into infinite many pieces in theory... but note the role of infinity is different between the two. Instead of an "infinite number" of points "in" the line, you have an "ability" to break a line into two pieces, repeatedly, "as long as you want", and induce the end state where the pieces are "infinitesimal".

You are using two different time scales to describe the observation: 1) The universal time scale which is perceived as linear. This time scale has a point T where the arrow hits its target. 2) A non-linear time scale where point T of the linear time scale is projected to infinity of the universal time scale, which implies that not all finite points of the universal time scale have a finite counterpart on the non-linear time scale.

In my not final opinion I would grant that HC has a very negative view of things over all, on the border between cynicim and nihilism. Pretty presumptive. An atheist is usually somebody who does not base his life on the possible existence of a deity, and usually, but not necessarily, believes in a limited conscious existence. The perception of mysticism (which appears to be more true than objective reality) is not unknown to me, but I wonder whether one's true identity can be found through mediation, or whether it is the interaction with that which is not us what defines us and makes us self-conscious.

Hey Bob. It actually seems like you try to be the father figure. And in general, that seems like a nice idea. I actually thought, "man, it'd be cool to talk about Alan Watts with Bob.. imagine if he was my dad.." However, you get angry/impatient when your not-officially-adopted children don't take your advice, and want to give up, it seems, quite easily. Watts wouldn't be so easily flustered.

I don't have a webcam. I use my Canon GL2 camcorder, recording at 30 fps in NTSC DV (720x480 pixels). I do all my editing at that resolution, using Final Cut Pro. Then, before uploading, I downcovert to 320x240 MP4, .h264 compression, using VisualHub, which is great and you can buy off the web for $23 bucks.

Because every solution that I've found on the web is not only beyond my skill set to judge, but not universally accepted. Or have I missed THE solution? google "infinite sums"... there is no paradox so well solved as Zeno's
it turns out if you break something in half and add the two pieces together, they add up to one... no matter how many times you do it.
It's proven mathematically with limits which allow us to take infinite sums.

pyrrho, my question about Zeno's "the arrow and the target" is less mathematical and more real-world. Clearly, before you can travel ten feet you have to travel five, and before that two and a half feet, and so on. My question is, at what scale does that logic break down? Is it at quantum scale, where certainty stops and probability kicks in? Or somewhere before that? Or am I missing something big and obvious up here in human scale?

metabob: zeno's paradox, the answer lies in calculus. Lines are not made of infinite many points... but can be "broken down" into infinite many pieces in theory... but note the role of infinity is different between the two. Instead of an "infinite number" of points "in" the line, you have an "ability" to break a line into two pieces, repeatedly, "as long as you want", and induce the end state where the pieces are "infinitesimal".

You are using two different time scales to describe the observation: 1) The universal time scale which is perceived as linear. This time scale has a point T where the arrow hits its target. 2) A non-linear time scale where point T of the linear time scale is projected to infinity of the universal time scale, which implies that not all finite points of the universal time scale have a finite counterpart on the non-linear time scale.

Hardcase has a very lucid and mature attitude ... and one of his accounts is meant to express it. I assume the entertainment value for him personally is greater in the fakesagan account, at least for now, and that explains what we see of him.

I am fine with being public using public information, and I think we get only a view on their public persona, not some "deeper" reality.
In my not final opinion I would grant that HC has a very negative view of things over all, on the border between cynicim and nihilism. I think the clarity of his individualism and rejection of group thought patterns and the fact that the world, is, in fact, very screwed up, balance the cynical aspect leaving some very interesting ideas in HC's bag.
