  • Silver $34.90 today .....

  • If silver is at an all-time high, why would anybody want to buy it? Always buy low and sell high. People who advise you to do the opposite are looking to sell the silver that they themselves bought at a low price.

  • @Tastentier History never viewed gold and silver as a stock that goes up and down. Sell Sell Buy Buy.....

so I dont think this trading stock perspective of precious metals will last that long.

  • I was just looking through and old trunk of my dad's and found about 5 1944 Walking Liberty silver coins right after watching this video, what a coincidence haha.

  • You...ROCK...my friend!! Great video!!! Thanks for posting.

  • I love your video, I just started last week in Junk Silver. I feel like I can get closer to spot. Do you know how much do dealers sell for? or Buy it for?

  • Are there any other preppers that have videos about silver?

  • check out my new GOT SILVER? shirts on ebay

  • True in my language, silver and the word money and currency are the same word w/ the same meaning.

  • i wish it was still 15$ an oz and one day ill be wishing it was still 40 $ an ounz

  • I wish to invest in silver. One important question for me is how does one check the silver content or whether or not they are genuine?

  • The only stock I have is a silver mining ETF,I will not invest in any more stocks...It is manipulated by and for the insiders..I wish I would have bought and saved every siver eagel I could have afforded back in the 80s and 90s especialy when silver was about 5 dolllars an OZ..I had no idea at the time about what holding on to PMs was all about

  • You're wasting your money. You do realize that anything of "value" is simply decided upon by the exact same authorities that decide on the value of paper money? It is a metals value exchange versus a paper value exchange. It's simply a replacement. One person somewhere says silver is worth this and that, some other will refuse to acknowledge that value and you'll be nowhere different than where we are with normal currency.

  • @Meowbay dumbass, go back to highschool economics and learn about supply and demand, its not even close to being fiat currency

  • @a10fjet That economy you think you live under is a lie. Go see vimeo. com/7857584 and vimeo. com/7938805

You're living a lie if you've convinced yourself you'll somehow 'survive' investing in silver, you sad excuse of a human being.

  • great vid, sorry to hear u lost so much money through stock. Collodial silver is great. God bless America and everywhere else.

  • ASIAN MARKETS JUST ANNOUNCED IT...GOLD DROPPED 30%...Better cash in first thing in the morning....if they let you......ha ha

  • Right now spot price for Silver is $21.76. It's up $4 an ounce just since I've been watching it 2-3 months. Tried to get my wife to put some of her 401k into Silver when it was $18ish- she wouldn't listen. Inflation will destroy her purchasing power, one day when she tries to spend it she won't be able to buy much of anything. Peter Schiff, Dr. Marc Faber, Jim Rogers and Gerald Celente are sounding the alarm, but most people aren't listening or they just don't want to believe what's happening.

  • Sootch-- Nice video -- David Morgan -- you may have heard of me.. Nice collection and good info for those new to the market. Notice your hits are well above most of mine-- good going. My currency crisis video is the only one that is in the 100,000 hits. May everyday have a silver lining for you. Silverguru 22 at twitter

  • @silverguru Hey David, Thanks for stopping by. Loved the Fox interview. Excellent info about the relative value of Gold vs inflation. Yes, Silver is going to come into it's own sooner or later. Take care my friend~

  • Water purification , too. And may be used to fight viruses.

  • My theory on prep is Guns, Water, Food, Silver!

  • When werewolves take over, you can make silver bullets :)

  • word silver :

    Silver : USA , GB , Canada , australia , Nw. Zealand

    Silber : Germany , Austria , Swiss , Luxemburg

    Zilver : Netherlands , Belgium

  • Interesting- Silver seems like a great hedge against currency. If you are looking for an interesting company or more experts on silver check out Industry Watch a new show hosted by Radio Man Al Korelin. All new episodes can be found on Evenkeelmedia

  • mate, very good work

  • Silver may be a sound investment, but if the shit hits the fan, things go scarce real fast. I just bought a 1000 cans of baked beans and 1000 vegetable soup cost me £ 300 wholesale. which is about $480..........If the shelves go empty I would rather be surrounded by food than piles of metal..........remember the feds won't tell you when there is going to be a food shortage, 48 hours and its gone.

  • @movement26 I agree. Food and water are the priority in an emergency or crisis. And I also have a stock of shelf stable food, but having SIlver/Gold protects your wealth. I converted a portion of my stocks to silver right before the bust and I'm glad I did. We should all diversify our preparations because no one knows what will happen tomorrow. Thanks~.

  • Very sound advice. If you can afford it I would choose gold over silver. A heavy chain or large bracelet 18K or higher is a great investment and can be found for very reasonable prices at your local pawn shop. Great reviews and advice, appreciate the time you put into them.

  • @sootch00 Actually, it all makes sense.

You have to feed yourself through the mahem, but you'll need recoverable wealth afterward. Stored food allows you to lay low, and a year or two later, the silver will allow you to recover savings no matter what may happen.

Lets all hope HSBC and JPMC get popped hard by the SEC/CFTC on their SLV derivative scam. If they can'y cover the contracts ... !!!! We win big.

  • Silver and gold are REAL money.

  • @movement26 But what are you going to do if you need OTHER things, eventually you will need things because ur food, medicine, ammo, water etc will be used up and silver and gold will be used as mediums of exchange aka MONEY. No matter how bad things get, sociaty WILL use something as money, and historically IT'S NOT FOOD or any thing like that.

  • @movement26

I agree, if I could only have food or silver, I'd rather have the food. However, last time I checked we can have both, so both it will be. One advantage to silver is the shelf life is considerably longer. If you don't have any silver, go get some. And on your way home, pick up some pork and beans.

  • "...Peruvian mines were discovered in South America, the supply of silver created inflation. You heard me inflation... There was gold inflation during the gold rush..."

I'd take my chances over a finite natural resource and a Federal Reserve computer screen anyday. That Peruvian inflation you mention cannot be compared to the trillions of dollars and other fiat currencies that are printed on a daily basis. Look at your history books. Histroy is very unkind to fiat currencies.

  • silver is also an antibiotic

  • great vid

  • Sootch.. Do you recommend cleaning the older 40s,50s, 60s, silver coins???If so, how?

  • I don't clean any coins. If you ever need to resell coins the buyer can use it as an excuse to pay less. I had a friend that recently cleaned a Morgan Dollar and a dealer used it as an excuse to offer him $6 because it was cleaned..... way below what was acceptable. Thanks~

  • @sootch00 Since US 90% is considered as "junk", so which it does not bear any numismatic value. The dealers cannot use cleaning as an excuse for less pay. I collect US junk myself too and I don't clean them unless the shit stain gets too heavy. Btw, good vid, great collection and keep it up dude.

  • Hoo-ah, Sootch !

  • I read where you can treat MRSA , a severe bacterial infection, with coloidal silver!

  • Yes, we've been colloidal Silver for years and it seriously works. Amazing stuff~

  • I read that in the old days,Americans put silver coins in containers of milk to fight of bacteria and extend the life of the milk.

  • You guys should look like money mechanics on Youtube, or find the book on the internet in PDF format. It shows how money is created. It shows what happens to money when it is lent out, and what happens to money when a debt is paid back. If a private bank controls the issuance of money, they can destroy people by inflation and deflation. We are now in a deflatonary cycle. This is the harvesting period for banks.

  • Silver will be good if the economy totally collapses. This is a big if. There has been a time in history when silver was almost worthless. When the Peruvian mines were discovered in South America, the supply of silver created inflation. You heard me inflation. This was during the 17th century. There was gold inflation during the gold rush in South Africa, and the American west. The Federal Reserve can make the price of gold and silver drop.

  • I saw something about silver being REAL money... LOL our paper money is worthless, and soon we will all be in a world of hurt. You are smart and fortunately are able to be well prepared. What should someone do if they have little or no money to spare to prepare?

  • My best advice is to slowly buy silver- you do not have to buy kilos- although one kilos is about $650us today and there is still some upside as it has not past its high like that of gold- so there is definately upside.

  • go and find a way to make some more money then convert it into this real money. these precious metals will always have value and can never go to zero unlike the currency that is suppose to be money. The paper is all its worth in the US that would be about what the Feds pay for the paper, about 1.2 cents per bill. It can go to zero. So my advise is to find a way to come up with your cut or you will be left out of the greatest transfer of wealth in the worlds history. Peace. keep stackin

  • Congrats on filling up your half books

  • The ratio of silver to gold was pegged at 16:1 by our founders. During the gold heyday of the 1970's the ratio was about 20:1.

    Today the ratio is 62:1

So silver has lagged gold, on a percentage basis very badly.

So silver, as an investment has a lot of ground to make-up. I would peg 30:1 as a reasonable ratio over the next 3-5 years. With gold over $1100 an ounce, spot silver should be around $40 but is only over $18. Silver is a good long term hold with a lot of upside potential.

  • Buying 1964 and earlier (junk silver) is the cheapest cost of entry. Reputable dealers sell junk silver at spot or spot + 1-2% mark-up. And will buy back at spot MINUS 1-2%. Mark-ups are very small.

Us silver eagles, while beautiful have a large premium over spot . 10-15% but you will get most of that premium back when you sell it. Storage of silver can be a problem as it is very bulky. $1,000 face silver coins (4,000 quarters) weighs 56 pounds. $1,000 gold weighs less than an ounce.

  • I love those half-dollars, such a nice size, good chunk of money.

  • Nice video and 100% accurate.

    BUT...BEWARE OF FAKE SILVER.

    It's now virtually undetectable.

Here is a video that will help!

    wnMZiUqi9ss

    Enjoy,

    SKB COINS

  • @r2hammer

Seems like getting 2010 mint sealed Eagles is the safest way to go, if not the cheapest.

  • @r2hammer

Also, what about the argument that all the 90% silver (junk, old Peace and Morgans) is not as good as .999 (bars, eagles) because when it comes down to when we have to spend it, the merchant isn't going to want something he has to melt down to get to the .999 value; that is, 10% of junk/Morgans/Peace coins are copper, leaving 90% silver. This comes a lot and, since I have this strange desire to buy old Morgans, I thought I'd get your take on it.

  • SILVER = SAFEST INVESTMENT

  • Great video, I've started buying silver a few months ago.

Do you think that the coins like Eisenhower dollars that are not silver, but has a lot of copper be good barter material?

  • If you're interested in accumulating copper, pre-1982 pennies are your best bet. Much more divisible than big Ike dollars, and they are so plentiful, it's nothing to find them in your change. Don't buy copper bullion or bags of pennies, you have plenty of capability to collect them yourself and they cost you only a penny each. Currently, just the copper alone in one of those pennies is worth about 2 cents. So, for every penny you find in change and keep...you effectively double your money

  • As a side note, I should say that some 1982 pennies are copper, but you'll need a scale that can measure to the tenth of a gram because copper pennies weigh 3.0-3.1 grams, while the newer zinc pennies weigh 2.5 grams.

  • Pennies are useless. You can't melt them, so there's really no point in paying extra money to have scrap copper you can't do anything with.

you would need to find someone in the black market to make money off copper pennies. I have 20 pounds that I pretty much want to flush down the toilet.

  • Cool, that's an idea!

  • copper is good too, but silver should go way higher

  • Gold is now at 1100 Dollars. Silver is around 17-18 at the moment. When do you suppose Silver will flare?

  • great video. i'm a silver junky these days. i truly think it's the only way to go for someone that can't afford to accumulate physical gold.

I just joined a program where i'm getting silver @ $7/oz. It's a referral program and it's cheap, easy, and gets me hard silver each month in the mail. message me and i can help you get set up or answer questions

  • P.S. - regarding barter. Back in mid 1970's when we had the OPEC oil embargo, gasoline prices jumped from about .40 cents a gallon to $1.25 and you could only get gas on alternate days based on the last digit of your license plate number. Our local gas stations posted a sign that you could pay for 1 gallon of gas ($1.25) with 1 silver dime. opportunities like these most certainly will come again.

  • Another industrial use for silver not mentioned is in water purification. Besides being a gold bug, I'm also a silver bug. At the silver highs in 1980 near $50/oz, a $1000 face bag (contains 715 ounces of silver) sold for $40,000. In YEAR 2000 when silver dropped to $4/0z, the same bag sold for only $2,800. That's when I started loading up on them. I recentl;y sold 1 bag of silver 90% quarters for $12,400 which more then paid for all my fine new guns incl H and K's, Sigs, Glocks and Rugers.

  • your a smart investor i just hope silver would get to be that low again one day. by the way guns are also a good investment.

  • @oldwithgold - Very true, it you dunk a pure silver dollar or 1/oz bar in your emergency water container that you get from your home tap it will kill any bacteria floating around in there for long storage. That old saying "Born with a silver spoon in your mouth" people used to let their kids suck on silver spoons so that some of the silver micro-paticles would be swallowed and keep you healthy! Now you can buy colloidal silver for medical purposes. BTW Nice going on your investment!

  • Peace dollars tone nicely!

  • Excellent work, as always.

  • Whats the current price for a new eagle coin?I would love a few of those for my collection!

  • The current price for the American Eagle is $20.01 on APMEX.

Yes, buying scrap can be fun and profitable :) Many thanks my friend!

  • Thanks for the reply, great channel, lots of variation!

  • I just noticed the bangle in amonst your silver, similar to mine, but mine is solid 16oz!

  • I collect scrap silver,in the past I had 16oz melted down and made into a solid silver bangle,I sent it off had it assayed and hallmarked when it was made, this is my emergency fund!I still have alot of halmarked scrap and coins only 925 or higher.Silver chains, small ones are not worth keeping, anything I keep must be over an ounce.I buy the silver at scrap price and get all sorts of interesting stuff in the bag!

  • i just scored some junk silver under spot with 8% BING on ebay.

  • gold at an all time high! silver will follow soon

  • For real.

I was checking how much gold had advanced on it's initial high of $1044 when I discovered silver spot market @ $24/oz

Now there's a market even I could afford. The built in sustainability makes me wonder what I'm doing screwing around on YT when there be markets to plunder yarrrr!!!

  • alot of these old worn coins have lost a substantial amount of their silver weight through "circulation wear" over the years. I buy only 1964 Kennedy Half dollars because they are still 90% silver and not really old enough to have worn much.

  • Awesome collection. I like to diversity in your collection. I probably focus too much on bullion and not enough of junk silver. Keep up the good work!

  • You only lost 60% in the market? You made out like a bandit! ;-)

  • Too lazy to go through the comments, but silver also kills germs.

  • Good job on this video!

  • Many people would be mobile in a dollar collapse situation. Getting out of the cities for safety and into rural areas. Therefore gold and silver would be bartable along the way to your destination, (Gas, Food, Ammo) wherever that may be. One thing is certain life will never be the same.

  • nice silver blog 5 stars

  • Trust and government should never go in the same sentence (unless you include a negative such as don't).

Silver is a great investment, but almost anything of real, material value is. Gold and platinum are great. Copper is good as well. Other than metals, I have heard of things like people investing in collector cars because (unlike money) they have real, physical value.

  • this may sound really stupid but i have been thinking about this for a while i am 12 and get alot of spare cash in my hands most weeks and never have anything to do so i go and buy loads of sweets and stuff. but i have been thinking about using my spare cash for this sorta stuff what does everyone think on it should i invest in this

  • My 11 year old son buys Silver whenever he can. He's built and nice collection of American Eagles especially. Obviously Coin shops are good, but Gun Shows and Flea markets are also a great source. Silver will still have value long after other "stuff" is eaten or forgotten. Best of luck~

  • good to see you teach your son these things i have noticed alot of of my friends parents hush them up to alot of things but my parents keep me aware to alot of stuff. and i am in the uk so its abit harder to get silver coins and stuff but i am gonna try

    many thanks a gun freak

  • to gunfreak1222: why not take half your money and still buy sweets (or as Americans say: candy) and take the other half and buy silver coins. A good compromise

  • Nice collection. Another great choice for silver coins is the Morgan dollar which contains .77344 ounces of silver.

  • Well Said~ I invest heavily in both :)

  • I know a nice place to buy pure cheap silver

  • Where?

  • The city of Taxco in Mexico.

  • Great advice! 5 STARS

  • What about a normal quarter that you see around today, would they have silver??

  • no only quarters from 1964 down

  • Nice overview, I didn't know Quarters used to have silver in them! Good point on the antibiotic properties, my dad once told me German officers in WWII used to put silver spoons in their canteens to keep the water clean.

  • Thanks. During the expansion into the Wild West, settlers used a silver dollar in their canteens for water purification. Good info!

  • Another great video thanks

  • Good video! I buy either a Silver Eagle or some Junk Silver every pay period. The other thing I'd say is that now and then as your stocks increase, trade in a little silver and get a one-tenth or one-fifth gold coin. You can usually trade at coin shops. I'd also suggest that you be aware that the government may choose to confiscate these metals eventually. This is especially the case when they move to a universal currency. Make sur eyou hide a large portion of your stock. Keep preparing!

  • Thanks for the great info. The Gold coin trade is an excellent point. Yes, the Feds can confiscate.... oh yeah, did I mention that I sold all my silver stock today! LOL!

  • so i guess the quarters we use is real money thats cool im gonna start putting some of that away or in my piggy bank thanks for the advice keep making great videos man

  • pre 64 coins only

  • pre 65 coins only.

  • Another great video! Thanks for all the vids/advice!

  • Wooohooo. Nice vid Sootch! I am a huge advocate for silver. nice one. I wear a troy ouce of silver around my neck at all times.

  • Not a good time to buy silver or gold. I'd hold off till at least 2010. Were predicting a sharp drop in silver and gold by then. When it looks like it's bottoming out I'm going to drop at least $500 on silver and gold. Then hope that inflation kicks in from the monetarist BS polices of are government and then sit back and watch the price spike again. If it works out I'll make a buck or two.

  • you may wait to long.

  • very informative vid - I never knew that silver & money were the same word in so many languages.

We have some silver 1 oz coins & junk silver too. The great thing about silver & gold is that it is not taxable and can be used for barter & to buy & sell.

I noticed you have silver candlesticks, do you plan to melt those down & if so how are you going to do that?

Thanks for posting about silver -- the poor man's gold.

    :D

  • Thanks my friend. As far as the Silver candle Sticks, most are in my Antique booth selling for well above the scrap price. The items in the picture were pretty dinged up and I removed the resin inside to get the silver weight. I'll wait until the price goes up and sale them all for scrap to a precious metals refiner. Take care~

  • I am wondering how hard it is to refine silver from candle holders & trays at home. This is something I am interested in cause I see lots of silver plated stuff at 2nd hand stores for cheap.

I do know you can buy home furnaces for @ $500, but wondering if it would be worth it. Any thots on this?

    :)

  • You would have to have a lot of Silver plate to make it worth your while. I've been a Jeweler for over 25 years and we steered clear of silverplate as much as possible. You're probably talking about pounds to get a few ounces.

I would recommend coins even over 925 Sterling silver because of the known value. Metaling down sterling would loose any proof marks and would need to be assayed to assure value to a potential customer. I'd do some serious research first.

  • thanks for the info and insight, I am doing more research and reading as you suggested. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

It always helps to have smart friends.

    :)

  • I'm honored. Nice to be able to return the favor, my friend. Your videos are always pointing me in the right direction as well.

    Long Live the Republic!

  • SafeArmsReview,(Steve) I recommend this book if your interested.

Recovery and Refining of Precious Metals

    Second Edition

    Author: C.W. Ammen....(Ebay) 45.00 new!

BTW, Sterling Silver contain's absolutely ZERO silver! I would start collecting Catalytic Convertor's from Vehicles. They have the "Three Platinum Sister's Group" Of precious metal's Pladium ,Platinum,Rohdium!

Big! Big! Big! Buck's just trading these on the exchange!

    I hope this help's.......

  • ~I couldnt agree more Sootch. Silver is a lot more reasonable for the avg. person to obtain and its much easier for day to day or week to week trade if things did go horrible. I look at it this way..Id want to trade gold for say a really nice object but i would want to trade silver for say, food or temporary shelter etc.. I was just wondering about silver too, thanks for steering me in the right directions..take care and great video. 5*****

  • Looks awesome! Shiny!

  • He was talking immune system poisioning....(Blood Poisioning)

    I would buy some Iodine.

  • Excellent way to be diversified

  • Colloidal Silver. Please keep in mind that if you take too much of this at once or over a period of time, you will likely get heavy metal poisoning. I don't want you to get hurt and since you said it wasn't toxic, I figured you might have known about this.

  • where can I go to find the info on that

% of people getting heavy metal poisoning from using it? only negitive story ive heard is the papa smurf video

  • THERE IS NO SUCH THING as "Silver Heavy metal Poisoning"

First of all..SILVER..IS NOT...a HEAVY METAL

Heavy Metals are a class of Atoms that CAN NOT be passed out of the Human Body

SILVER is PASSED out of your body without problem (in several ways)

A BILLION Hindus in India EAT SILVER FOILED FOOD EACH YEAR..and have for 5,000 YEARS

Open you mouth I bet their is SILVER DENTAL WORK IN THERE..Silver is in your Water

The EPA classes Silver as one of the MOST SAFE MATERIALS ON EARTH

  • Google: "Systemic argyria associated with ingestion of colloidal silver"

    Decide for yourself. ='[.]'=

  • ....This is a MYTH PUT OUT BY THE BIG PHARAM..OWNED..BIG MEDIA

If you take the time to actually READ the EPA report on the subject you will LEARN that...ONLY..SILVER COMPOUNDS...CALLED SILVER-SALTS...are a problem

Silver-Iodine to be specific....its a well known DYE used in industry for that reason...its will DYE Clothing...Paper products...OR YOU (go figure)

There is NO SUCH THING AS "Toxic" when it comes to Silver...the EPA ranks Silver as one of the MOST SAFE MATERIALS ON THE PLANET

  • Colloidal silver should be taken moderately as any medication should be.

It is not toxic. Excessive intakes may possibly cause Argyria, or bluing of the skin, but this condition is not common or deadly and typically has no major effects. Again, if you choose to use, use sparingly.

  • Great Video Sootch!

My family and i have been drinking Colloidal Silver for years now..and I KNOW FIRST HAND IT WORKS (as do you)

We use "Silver Biotics" from our local GNC Healthfood store..and we use this stuff for just about EVERYTHING

I have Even SEEN it take out "Super Bugs" like MRSA (my friend came down with) The Silver Killed that MRSA in just 4 Days

A bottle of this Silver is like having a PHARMA in your pocket..I added about 20 bottles to our long term storage just in case

  • I have used the GNC SilverBiotics but it is expensive! Have you considered making your own? The process looks pretty easy.

  • Great video Don.Always informative good advice.Thanks.

  • Good info for comming times. I bought 5 lbs. for future trading. A must have for your bugout bag.

  • This why I gave 3lb's of .999 silver to my pregnant step daughter to help her out.

I had collected 6 lb's and just gave it all away for free!

IT does'nt matter because of hyper inflation and the middleman. They will rob you so what's the point???

  • With inflation, the price of Silver would increase. If you sell on Craigslist or the local classifieds, you cut the middleman out. A great way to buy as well. Hopefully your step-daughter was able to use it.... no?

  • Actually;I told her I really didnt give a hoot what she did with it but with her being young,I think she was so impressed with it that she wanted to keep it all...LOL!

It put's her on the right track as the key point's in your video mention...

I make do with the world of hurt. It's called barter... Peace!

  • As much as I like silver and gold, I am leaning towards brass and lead.

Plus, I currently like tin cans filled with food.

  • silver is the best survival investment. Great vid!

  • 5$ for 25 cents? no thanks.

20$ for a once used 1$ uh uh cant do it lol

  • The value of Silver is much higher than the value of the Dollar. With the current economic climate, silver is poised to go way up in price. If inflation increases, the price of silver will rise. It's just a great hedge.

  • great vid dude.

makes me want to buy some now.

i recon im going ot visit some junk shops for silverware tomoro
