Listen mister.. those marroons.. that is not every Surinamese man or woman. Ofcourse, every normal and decent human being strongly finds that what happened to the people repulsive and horrible. I can't believe that such a thing happened in my country. And I say it twice; those were rebels [people who were traded as slaves, but ran away to the bushes not to suffer the life as a slave.. So coming to think of it, maybe the were on drugs??? I still can't believe it. Cause we are peacefull people..
It is extremely serious violence suffered by Brazilians in suriname, 20 women raped, and one of those who suffered sexual violence was pregnant and was stabbed and killed the knife still in her baby belly. If that happened on another continent for sure it would not be only in the diplomatic sphere. These maroon Suriname practice what their ancestors did in Africa, rape, genocide, sale of slaves, cannibalism ....
Hi exter..., These are very unfortunate circumstances. Innocent people got hurt. not matter what tribe, race or country. Take Rowanda for example, they killed 1000.000 people in 90 days time. this is twice the hole population of Surinam. 1Despite this tragic event we will contineu to try to live side by side. Suriname belongs to no one and yet to everyone. It is the country we have grown to love. The land of our ancestors no mattter were they came from.
It is horrible what happened. But the maroons who did this are not all marroons in suriname. It is always sad when innocent people get hurt. But it is a fact that the marroons are being attacked daily by brazillians. Even in the capital surinamees aren't save from the criminals amongst these groups. The horrible deeds done are not the most bad yet that surinamees have suffered by the hands of brazillians. Still this does not make what they did right.
