Those scenes are out of order the scene with Jake phasing was related to problems with the other werewolves, oh well cinematic license, but the scene where Edward leaves Bella is the really sad one, it is kind of strange that she believed he no longer loved her, which can only be put down to her insecurity abt her looks and her "ordinaryness. She never saw herself as Edward did, so she is partly to blame for this, she just couldn't believe he loved her for herself. And Edward was misguided.
