  • Way Cool.. Thanks for the history. I heard the song on Glee and had no idea there was so much history to it...

  • My favorite version is by the Sexbomb Girls.

  • Thank you for sharing the history and these beautiful versions.

  • In 1954 this song was recorded by PEDRO INFANTE, the silkiest voice ever and by far the best version.

  • In 1954 this song (quién será?) was recorded by PEDRO INFANTE , the silkiest voice ever and by far the best version. Check it out!!!

  • I like versions::::::Michael BUBLE and Pussycat dolls. So different buth both marvellous:))))

  • Lubię wersje:::: Michaela BUBLE i Pussycat dolls.Bardzo różne ale obie cudne:))))

  • How it started?is it from Mexico?but I like much better in english...what do you think?

  • nice music

  • muy buenas versiones de esta gran cancion mmmm me hacen recordar mi infancia a l lado de mis padres qpd gracias por los recuerdos

  • Thank you for share, I agreed with you Bobby Ridell did the best version ever. pussycat dolls sucks. Thank you on more time.

  • @buddyeagle Yes, BR did a pretty lively version, in that "Frank Sinatra on speed" way of his. The PCD version was better than I was expecting; I could have mistook it for "Sergio Mendez and Brazill'66" if I heard it in a noisy waiting room. Of course, that's coming from someone who liked The Boys' (UK-only) 1978 punk-pop version. The EG and disco versions didn't do much for me.

  • ok, my nickname is a title of this song ^^

  • Thank you very much. I love it.

  • @GSilverWorld

Starting with this one, I discovered your other thematic videos and loved them. Carefully selected versions, depth of knowledge and taste. Result is wonderful videos. I had not heard Rydell's and London's versions. I am glad to have known them now.

However, I would love to learn your assessment on the Rosemary Clooney & Perez Prado version of this tune.

  • @BoraMT Prado is better than Clooney.

  • @GSilverWorld Rosemary Clooney recorded a version with Prado and orchestra backing her.

  • @GSilverWorld It sounded better without vocals that's always my opinion!!!

  • where can i download or buy Quien Sera by Eydie Gorme??

  • @Sashey24 I doubt it. Only if you find a way to save this video.

  • thanx!!

  • Excelente eleccion, bien por estas canciones y muchas gracias por compartirlas

    Saludos desde Mexico

  • does anyone kno who the female singer is in it second version??? I need to kno asap for a party!!

  • @Sashey24 See description at right.

  • Does anyone know if the Eydie Gorme album is available somewhere online or on CD?

  • It is hopelessly obscure.

Steve and Eydie have a website.

  • @andy957 Etdie gorme sings this with the trio los panchos CD is available

  • Pussycat Dolls did a GREAT job with this one, too. Also love Melinda Doolittle (from American Idol), Club Mambo (disco version), many others. It's such a great song. I like it sung on the slower side, very sensual, because the words are really about the singer singing to his/her lover.

  • My favorite is Julie London

  • For me... is better the last version of "Sway" singing by Michael Bublé.

  • I like this song :p I sang it for the school choir lol xD

  • i think you shouldve included Dean Martin's version

i believe its the best version in my opinion

  • mish! así que era originalmente en español ...

  • Bobby Rydell and Dean Martin have two

    hit songs in common: SWAY.....VOLARE

Both did a great job with Sway. Bobby

did a better job with VOLARE.

Bobby Rydell one of the most underrated

of the great singers...and he still sounds

    great today!!!!

  • YES!!!! My mom "introduced" me to Bobby Rydell back when I was a teen doing a report on the 50's/60's! Fell in LOVE w/ his voice! Mom has ALL his 45's in MINT condition, but she still let me play them! LOL! It kills me that his man w/ one THE GREATEST voices of his era is not played or remembered more! And to top it off... what a doll! ;-) Mom met him back in the early 60's and she said he was so nice "to an old married woman!" Ha! She was 23! Love Mr. Rydell!

  • "Sway" is the English version of "¿Quién será?", a 1953 mambo song by Mexican composer and bandleader Pablo Beltrán Ruiz. In 1954[citation needed] the English lyrics were written by Norman Gimbel and recorded by Dean Martin (his recording reached number fifteen on the Billboard magazine best-seller chart[1] and number six on the UK chart). Since then the song has been recorded and remixed by many artists (see discography below).

  • Oh! Bobby Rydell! "Sway" the very first 45 rpm I bought. I was totally in love with Bobby Rydell. Good souvenirs, thank you.

  • I think we tend to like the version we grew up on. But when you hear it in it's Latin versions you still can't stop tappin those toes. This song is one of the few songs thats all about the rhythm. Great Great song no matter who is doing it.

  • JLo did a great job with this song!

  • Although I am a big fan of JLO as an artist . . . but I must say her interpretation of this son is the worst I have heard. She has no color, no emotions, no weight . . . I am surprised to see that from a Latina singer.

  • No weight? Haven't you seen her butt?

  • Excellent band fantastic music!!

  • I think Julie London's sexy version of this song made you

want to get up and dance. She was the greatest singing this

    song.

  • Right. I found that LP too - Latin In a Satin Mood. Seems to be scarce, maybe I should post some of the songs. Excellent renditions.

  • Please....post those songs. I'm not much for female singers,

but Julie is fantastic and had a marvelous voice.

  • That can actually be found on the internet. Maybe I don't need to.

  • its not easy finding grome music....so thsi was cool to hear.

    michael

  • Hey guys, I sing a spanish/english rendition of "sway"-- check it out! Feedback is appreciated :]

  • Good show.

  • @NaomiJuliaRoochnik BEAUTIFUL VOICE, AMAZING, LOVELY, JOB WELL DONE MISS NAOMI JULIA. MAKE A RECORD OF THAT BEAUTIFUL SONG, I REALLY LIKE IT SO AS MY WIFE

  • @NaomiJuliaRoochnik BEAUTIFUL VOICE, JOB WELL DONE MISS NOAMI JULIA, WE LIKE IT, ME AND MY HONEY.

  • my fav by bobby is "Wild One".

  • In the Rydell part of this video I really love the girl's background vocal, just great.

  • It is a simple reality that when you take a

great song together with a great band and

put Bobby Rydell out there singing, you

have a masterpiece. Sway, Volare, Forget

Him, songs by Bobby Darin, songs of

    Sinatra, Dean Martin....not enough people

truly know that this guy isn't just good,

he's way past that. The stuff he has recorded is just the tip of the iceburg.

One of the greats and underrated for sure.

  • La versión de anita kelsey, la que esta en la banda sonora de Dark City, es la que más me gusta.

  • Espectacular.

  • "El Consorcio" (they where the original mocedades) redid this in their first recording most recently, dedicated to the people of Cuba but launched in Miami. Also Jennifer Lopez made a great rendition with an afro-cuban beat!

  • 50 years later and Bobby can memerize

his audiences singing this song. The

baby boomers would go nuts seeing him

on Oprah......and the kids today would

get to see what a true great sounds like.

  • Thanks for posting. This is Bobby's song for sure.

  • just to say; _Thank You_. always loved the song / never knew much about it.

  • haha en ingles oh espanol esta cancion es la mejor!

  • Check out: "Anita Kelsey - Sway (Dark City)" It was cool in that flick.

Thanks for putting this together! I'm partial to the first Rydell version--what a voice! I'm glad the PD did this, but evidently it didn't turn enough profit, so they resorted to stuff like "Don't Cha". Oh well. I can only hope that really good music will win out!

    Thanks again!

  • thank you very much for the info on the right side. Really, good job.

  • Bobby sings this on stage even today...and

    even better...Philly legend entertaining his

fans for half a century...go Bobby!!!!!

  • i have a reissue 45 of rydell's of sway and volare-i like both songs even if,or because of,their 1960 las-vegas-lounge-esque arrangements-btw,here on youtube is a scopitone of this version of sway, and his real name is Riddarelli.

  • I also love his 1961 That Old Black Magic. I think these were from his LP BR Sings the Big Ones. I'd buy it if I saw it.
