I am so fed up with these stupid stereotypes of the rude French & even ruder French waiters!
I lived in Paris for 2 years, and have actually met ruder waiters back in the UK, where I'm from, and the US.
If people who go to France would just take the time to learn some French, enough to get by, at least, and respect the culture instead of expecting the French to adapt to them in their own country, they would realize the French are actually quite courteous, warm and friendly.
@gr333nyboy Ah, the old "Blame the Americans" shtick...never gets old. Anyways, if you notice, this story was produced by AFP, which is one of the oldest French (yes, French) media organizations in the world, and not one American shows up in the video. How again would this be an American angle?
As much as it might flatter some of us Americans that the world seems to think we somehow invented the free market and a person's right to choose between alternatives, but alas, we did not.

Biased story. The French way and culture will never go away. With globalization crap, people are more aware of their culture and defensive now.
