Wow, I had no idea there are so many different types of speed loaders. I knew about the HKS and the Jet, but none of the others. I think the HKS would be the most natural for me because I have known how they work since childhood, so it is ingrained in my brain (and they're the only ones I've used). Great video!
Dear Heartford: I know 5 Star and Clinton the owner very well. In fact he and I are working on a few terrific projects together. Regarding your 5-Star question – I love them and am currently phasing out my class HKS loaders for the 5-Stars. I just did not have them on hand on the day video taped. On an aside I am currently taping the one-hand-only snub reloading will be using the 5-Star reloader in that. Yours, Michael de Bethencourt
I find that the rounds will not reliably stay in the Maxfire loaders under moderate (realistic?) handling. Worse is I can only trust them in four of six common reloading methods (66% reliability rate.) I commonly keep my snub in my right hand and reload with my left hand and I find that when pealing off the rounds the Maxfire loader will stress (flex) the crane on the snub and can (sometimes) take the gun out of action. Subsequently it is not my first choice when carrying my snub. Yours, Michael
Good information. The tips were good. Unfortunately, I had to learn these on my own. Wish I had seen this video when it came out. I started using HKS for my SP101 and then switched to Safariland for my GP100. The S.I. Varioant was not available then..
Planning on getting a .357 Snub Nose Taurus 650 for my first CCW. Your videos have given a lot of great information and I will be practicing your techniques as much as possible before and during carry. Thank you.
Very helpful and informative. Well done.
Thank you!

I don't know if this is the case with all loaders. But my HKS speedloader will occasionally get stuck on the rubber handgrips of my .38 taurus M85.
