  • Harrison had big ears, tried to hide them with his hair. The BIGGER the ears, the SMALLER the brain!

  • George Harrison is way too smart for that host guy

  • @chemtrailstacoma2011 - That "host guy" is one of the few

willing to have George Harrison on his show. Most wanted

Lennon or McCartney and if they couldn't get those two guys

they didn't want ANY of them. Keep in mind that George was

NOT the driving force of the Beatles. He was, in a sense just

a water-boy for John and Paul. Add to that George was busy

trying to cram Krishna down everyone's throat. If the country

wanted anything they wanted Christianity (ugh!).

  • He dope fiend! George! And Dick too!

  • He reminds me a bit of Russel Brand

  • Best people go first!

  • Best people die first!

  • I was with George, we both took drugs. So what? No big deal. Now I dabble in movies.

  • Steven Tyler explained it best when he said "We started off as musicians who dabbled in drugs and before long we became druggies that dabbled in music".

  • He's taking sense , most who visit here are the ones that are high, prolly not the right drugs either . When asked about drugs Salvador Dali replied " I am drugs" !

(for the idiot that said Harrison was just a minor Beatle , you missed the train but you'll get it someday )

  • @Treadlightlyful - George got hit by more than a TRAIN.

My goodness, to get STABBED to pieces by a lunatic and

then to slowly get eaten alive from the inside-out by one

of the worst cancers imaginable...poor George! His "sweet

lord" must not have been SO "sweet" after all!

  • good interview..he seems normal..not high!!

  • @RU2BFREE67 - George is who they interview when they

can't get a REAL BEATLE. That is to say, John or Paul. He's

what's known in the industry as Beatle-Lite.

  • @thegrinchl7 wow...what a retarded thing to say.

  • I think he hit the nail on the head, people just wana get high

  • R.I.p.

  • R.I.p.

  • George Harrison, not Sasquatch.

  • towlie from south park was based on this interview haha........just gett a little highhhh

  • All throughout history artists, authors ,musicians- all seek a state of mind in which they can dwell that break downs the restrictions of conventional thought / behavior .Or, they just want to get loaded and have a good time.

  • God i love it when people talk like they know a celebrity personally. it gets even better when we heatedly argue about the shit as well. Just people doing what they do well, fucking up a wet dream.

  • Dude it's america's fault the beattles got all fucked up on drug's. Listen to the music before the ed sullivan show. And then after, now when they came back from india. Whoa that's a whole other discussion right there. O.k. Hippies and other's you can attack me now..... Get set go. And your right i am a moron with a low iq who can not spell and have bag grammar and my sentences run together and stuff.

  • its amazing that 40 years on people still have the same views, yet its still such a huge problem !

  • Comment removed

  • Every word he said makes perfect sence.

  • he was so lovely, everything he said,do,look like was lovely, beatifull long hair, love men with long hair................

  • The title is misleading..........I thought he meant that he was on drugs.

  • If peace and love makes me a hippie then damn it I wish we were all hippies. Plus any kid or adult wanting long hair because of the Beatles why is that a problem. Not everyone wants that 1950 American buzz cut. If you have negative comments on George or the Beatles please share it somewhere else. If you hate em so much why watch these videos.

  • Beatle- Lite!

  • THAT is one Shity thing the Beatles did was introduce American kids to drugs . They Helped to bring in all the Bums and Hippies into Society , Every Stupid kid wanted to have long hair and look like a BUM just to look like the Beatles. They where a Shity example for kids to follow .

  • @nicktesla45 Conservative ?

  • @nicktesla45 Wow. You are truly an idiot.

  • @dylanc00 You've got to be kidding asshole! I have an IQ in the No-Shit category and just because I don't have your Hippie-Type brand of Ethics you have the Gaul to call me an idiot? Fuck-off Moron!

  • @nicktesla45 Good answer! you tell that hippy what's up. Lol!

  • @nicktesla45 At least those kids weren't violent, but peacfull in light of the example they chose to fallow. Choosing love over hate, and fear. If you're going to blame the beatles, you mine as well blame Jesus as well as his teachings were not only simullar, but delivered with much more power as it has lasted millenia. What IS shitty about america is how violent, and controlling it has become over it's sheepish populus who hate eachother (like you do) out of fear, and purposeless arrogance.

  • @palescale That does not offend me since I am Not a Religious Fanatic. The Bible is full of Self-contradictions and I don't believe it's holy at all . But kids in America where not so much into drugs until the British Long hairs came along and YES they had more morals before that time, Singing about peace is BULLSHIT Because as long as there is Injustice you will never have peace . And nobody has respect for Lazy Hippies that pick food out of garbage cans so Fuck-Off You Trash-eater !!

  • @nicktesla45 You shouldn't be so angry. Peace, my friend.

  • @nicktesla45 wow, you dont seem at all intelligent to me. maybe its about perspective. maybe, an iq in the 'noshit' category where you come from is like 120, whereas in the rest of world, I think(personally, not 100% sure about the objective facts on this, if there actually is such a thing.) thats its anywhere from 150+.

Having said that, here's your chance Genius. Answer this question: Why were the beatles a shitty example for kids to follow?not disagreeing, just asking for ur reasoning on it

  • @residue102 Look I am NOT saying they where Monsters BUT they could've kept their use of drugs private , That Part IS a bad example for kids. Kids tend to copy everything their "hero's" do . I think this topic has been exhausted , That is all I want to say for now . Good luck and God be with you !

  • @nicktesla45 Dude the beattles were pretty straight untill they came to america. Get your facts straight before you point the finger. like didn't you know american's are evil and godless and stuff. i don't know for sure but people tell me that every day on youtube, so it must be like true and stuff. Cuz we all know people who post on here are all highly educated, well informed experts and stuff.

  • I came here expecting George Harrison on drugs..

  • @oybeutu I wasn't sure if it was him wasted or him talking about drugs. I think its a bit of both. . .

  • @oybeutu its meant to be him talking about the subject, not physically using them during an interview

  • @MrAnusmystere Oh hello there FrightWolf aka ArgentinaExpel4Fraud aka TwoUselessLegs aka thegrinch7 aka CubanCheGuevara aka UploadedGiovlin. Shall I add this one to your great collection of trolling accounts? Yeah, I think I'll give it a try.

    Ready? Ok. Here I go...

FrightWolf, ArgentinaExpel4Fraud, TwoUselessLegs, thegrinch7, CubanCheGuevara, UploadedGiovlin, MrAnusmystere - ONE 'person', multiple accounts. Master troll, obsessive hater, little pathetic twerp.

  • @gietek Yeah, the twerp has multiple names and accounts, but he is still a troll on all of them and gets his rocks off by pissing off people who are better than him,. That would cover pretty much everyone.

  • @MrAlsfan5 Yeah no shit huh. I'm guilty as charged as well, but in my defence I"M better than everyone else. Yes that was sarcasm. And i know i can't spell and have bad grammar. Good day to you.

  • @teddlyt You to mate.

  • @MrAnusmystere a good bit of musicians plagiarize music. a good bit of songs come from people trying to learn other peoples songs, and a lot of the time when your trying to write a song, you find yourself playing something familiar..and sure enough, its somebody elses song haha im not saying its right and im not trying to argue or "talk shit on the internet" im just sayin...

  • This shit just proves drugs are only a crutch, my boy George couldn't have said it better

    "It's sad" yes, yes it

    Live free, stay clean

    Edge life

  • "I get high with a little help from my friend. Some early Butcher Block shots.

  • Just real, why any dislikes?

  • @c4r50n1 . His body became weak because of drug addiction, not on smoking............My father was a former band member since the 70s and he's still alive now. DON'T THINK THAT SMOKING IS HARMFUL, just fuck your butts on your head.

  • @desensitizersystem - Yes, everyone knows that smoking

is not only NOT unhealthy, it actually is GOOD FOR YOU.

Please...light up! And often! Here, have another! ...and

    another!

  • @desensitizersystem i'm pretty sure they're talking about smoking cigarettes.

  • He was a really smart guy. Liked seiing this.

  • Fake hippy! He hated MATERIALISM but not

enough to move out of his 120-room exotic

mansion called Friar Park. Then, he SMOKED

HIMSELF TO DEATH! How "spiritual" can he be?

  • @FrlghtWolf Having brain cancer is smoking yourself to death?

  • @FrlghtWolf I bet you love the National Enquirer.

  • @c4r50n1 - George died of throat cancer. According

to his doctor George's life long habit of chain smoking

was the direct cause. Most people don't know that near

the end, his voice was reduced to meer whispers. Which

could only have helped his weak, warbly, effeminate

    singing voice.

  • @FrlghtWolf I know who you are now. :3

  • @FrlghtWolf that last part sounded so disrespectful. You should be ashamed sir.

  • @adrozemog- Yes, I suppose I do NOT "respect" George at all. I very much found him a hypocrite, what with all his preaching against MATERIALISM only to find him living in a garish 120-room exotic mansion. As if he were some Duke or Earl. Then the blackguard went and smoke himself to death. What are we to think of that? This man who who preached that we ought to take care of the planet and our bodies literally SMOKED HIMSELF TO DEATH. Never mind his awkward music and singing!
  • @FrlghtWolf - wow..you're one of the first i have ever heard that hates George!!??

  • @bunnyhead71- That's the problem with many of

these video comments boards. Any dissent, any

differing opinion is met with ridicule and disgust. Thus,

all you're left with is an ECHO CHAMBER. George

Harrison fans seem to be unaware that there's an

entire world out there that not only don't like or are

indifferent to George's music, they don't much like

the man either. What are we to think of a man who

preached the evils of MATERIALISM while living in

    120-room exotic mansion?

  • @FrlghtWolf just an observation. you sound sexually frusterated. If you can't find some nice person to get you off. Perhaps you would consider a prostitute. We the rest of the world would greatly appreciate this. Thank you and goodday. P.S. I know i can't spell and have bad grammar. Be original with your venomous reponce please. thank you again.

  • @teddlyt - Well, I've been with prostitutes. I don't pay

them for the SEX, I pay for them to LEAVE. As for my

frustration, I think I would be sufficiently pleased if

George's fans quit trying to elevate hm beyond his

talents. He was a good soldier, he did what he was told.

While he harmonized well, his voice was NEVER meant

for solo work. His guitar work was pedestrian...but in a

band where the melodies were catchy and the lyrics clever,

he certainly didn't hurt the band.

  • Top bloke, thanks uploader..

  • I don't do pills but I had my wisdom teeth pulled out and took 20 Hydrocodone tablets which is a synthetic OPIOID derived from either of two naturally occurring opiates: codeine and thebaine, codeine is extracted from Iranian poppy.

Heroin is an OPIOID analgesic synthesized from morphine, a derivative of the opium poppy.

So I have done some heroin, but it is in a low dose and I had some withdraws too.

  • Good answer on the drugs bit, life is rough and that is EXACTLY why I smoke cannabis and have for 12 years.

  • Such a beautiful man, brings a lot of fucking trolls to his videos. Why?

  • @MissJJacks you disrespect George Harrison speaking like this he was a gentle peace loving human being who would respect another persons opinion sorry i offended you.I will remove the comment

  • @IKillGoliath how did i offend him? I'm standing up for him!

  • @MissJJacks Hi sorry i got your comment wrong i thought you were commenting to me about my comment so your fine wish i hadnt hid my comment i think it had alot to say about famous peopl are just as lost as the rest of us we all ned someone to rescue us and i mean the whole world and i know that jesus christ did that when he rose from the dead to show us who we should listen to and follow not forest Gump Jeus life was perfect Follow Him.

  • @IKillGoliath I am a follower of Christ

  • Comment removed

  • @IKillGoliath Sorry, but I belong to the cult of George Harrison. Your Jesus is not welcome here.

  • @puddnhead My sweet lord is one of the most beautiful songs and shows the musical Genius of George Harrison. If the universe were to disappear and nothing existed but yourself just you suspended in the eternal infiniteness of Eternity No time no space

just you. You ask the question is anyone there .The voice you hear will not be george harrisons it will be The voice of the Eternal God and he will say I am Jesus and i have always been here you are not alone.

  • @IKillGoliath I called Him, but He hung up on me. At least George Harrison answers my calls.

  • george has the best hair..

  • @yellowsubmaine420 Damn I was about to say something like that.

  • @yellowsubmaine420 George is my Favorite Beatle!

  • @yellowsubmaine420 but the funniest ears:D

  • "I am somewhere in the middle" hahah me to George my favorite Beatle he is so awesome.

  • drugs are in EVERY walk of life. it's just that musicians are more exposed to them on a more regular basis, and they usually keep the late hours and frequent the places (bars, clubs, etc), that lend themselves to being able to do it MORE than the rest of us. plus, they are looking for what they perceive as an "edge", in terms of creativity (ie, that drugs, and altered states of consciousness will lead to better/cooler/more poetic lyrics, or more wild guitar riffs, or whatever).

  • why cant the world just appreciate someone that was a model to society. just love, get high, and appreciate the ones who were insiprition to us all.

  • fuck off to everyone saying johns better than george or georges better than paul, theyre all different, thats it.

  • @FrlghtWolf,Cola96K , You guys clearly don't know what you are talking about. Guy who carried water for them?, John, not a good guitar player?...You guys are idiots and clearly not musicians.

  • @jameshenry73000 Yes I am you jackass and I'm just saying John is a good guitar player, not a great one and especially when compared to George

  • @jameshenry73000 - Some of George's overzealous fans often

insist he was an equal to John Lennon musically. I think this is

absurd. The Beatles were never about GUITARS, they were about

great melodies, clever lyrics and some wonderful harmonies.

Except that they were all friends, both George and Ringo were

always easily replaceable. Calling George great because he

was associated with the Beatles is like calling a barnacle great

because it was stuck to the ship.

  • @FrlghtWolf actually george was a great musician, if you like the song here comes the sun thank george cause he wrote that song... he was just like the rest of the beatles, great thats why they're the f-ing beatles

  • @FrlghtWolf I disagree his solos were great and taxman here comes the sun something wer all great songs

  • @elvispresley718 - Yes, George's voice was great...if you like high-pitched warbly, almost effeminate voices.

  • George Harrison hitched his wagon to John and

Paul's rising star. It troubles me that George is now

given a kind of cerimonial salute as the "great" musician

for the Beatles. Trying to compare him to the mystical

John Lennon is like trying to link George to Mozart. In

the end, George is given the courtesy and ceremony

often afforded all the Beatles. Except that George is

not the architect of the Beatles' greatness. He was more

like the guy who carried water for them!

  • @FrlghtWolf I think you've got part right, but that's a bit far to call him the water boy. I believe he was part of the team, and gave contribution such as writing great songs, giving ideas to paul and John, and giving a psychidelic touch to the music by adding sitar and outwork guitar melodies. Also, you can't deny that without George's guitar things would be the same: John could barely play rhytrhm, yet don't think about licks and solos. Listen to George on ''Abbey Road''

  • @Cola96K @FrIghtWolf you're both idiots. how dare you say anything like that about george? he gave so many ideas and wrote some of the best songs. he was just as talented as john and paul, and was possibly more mystical then john. while john DID have more of an impact on the world, that doesn't mean he was more mystical, or more talented in any way. george usually wasn't that outspoken, so we don't know everything about him. why do you have to assume bad things?

  • @JonBonBowie You got me bad. I say that George is a BIT under BOTH PAUL AND JOHN combinated, but that he did great work. I really like his playing and musical style overall, but what I say is that he is part of the team and NOT as good songwriter as Lennon and McCartney combinated

  • @Cola96K ok. i'm more angry about what FrIghtWolf said. the "waterboy" thing.

  • @FrlghtWolf

You have literally no idea what your talking about.

  • BULLSHIT TITLE, stereotyping bullshit, I HAVE NEVER SEEN SOMEON BE SO DAMN HONEST IN AN INTERVIEW IN MY LIFE, spoken from his heart, great interview,

  • @countessarcadius I don't think the title means to say that he is on drugs in the interview, but that he's speaking "on" the topic of drugs.

  • Poor George! Poor poor awkward George! The man was

off balance. Life and music never came easy to him. He

hid behind this goofy hippie "guru" thing but, in the end, it

only magnified his awkwardness. What are we to think of

a man who professes that we ought to take care of the

planet and "our bodies" with a cigarette hanging out of his

mouth? What are we to think of a man who preaches the

evils of MATERIALISM while he lives in a fucking 120-room

exotic mansion? My god, this man asks a lot.

  • @FrlghtWolf Most honest reality I read today.

  • @FrlghtWolf Hey like you sound like you read Pierre Salinger. Like maybe you can go bonkers and try to shoot somebody outside their apartment. My grandpap says "who gives a shit? It's only pop music. Listen to the bullshit on the radio. It's all pay for play payola. Anybody who has a brain knows that only bullshit is on mass media. Fuck You!"

  • Ugh! Poor George. I have never seen this man happy.

  • aw man hes only TALKING about drugs?

  • what a fuckin nerd

  • Good boy George it's all "high" 's and Lows really. as for that bitch heroine, fine if it's straight from the Afghanistan pony's pouch but after it's been through a shxxtload of tossers mits, so that they can cream off their financial cut, well it's pretty much toilet fodder.

  • Comment removed

  • The openness and honesty and lack of an agenda is profound!

  • @Horgan1956 yeah that would never work today

  • Amazing...such interesting, detailed, low-key conversation without glitz and flash.

Can't find quality interviewing like this on TV anymore aside from, perhaps, Charlie Rose or Bill Moyers.

  • @keefriff99 that is very true.

  • I love George Harrison. Probably my favourite Beatle as a person.

  • Who is "Besty Smith"?

  • @thesweetgermangirl She was a black blues singer.

  • @thesweetgermangirl Bessie Smith was a R&B singer from the 1930s.. I learned of her in History of Rock n Roll

  • George's hair looks so pretty here (not totally sold on the beard, though).

  • he looks like chales manson

  • TwoUselessLegs and FrightWolf are the same person. Using alt accounts to troll people is incredibly lame.

  • "They're all looking for some deep love...or something like that...and they miss it." -That's been my experience with people who do heroin. Well said George, well said. I think acid might be a better choice :) DRUGS ARE CRAZY!

  • Poor George. Nervous George...uncomfortable George.

Instead of the "quiet" spiritual poser behind the beard and

Hobbit hair...I see a very unhappy man. A clinically

depressed man. Instead of being grateful to the Beatle

franchise for giving him a lift amongst the stars...he instead

was convinced that the Beatles conspired against his music.

His vanity never let him consider that it was possible that his

music simply wasn't all that good. So much for the "quiet"

    and "spiritual" Beatle.

  • @TwoUselessLegs His vanity? Are you serious? There's not a shred of vanity in this guy's body! He seems to me to be a completely ego-free, honest dude talking from a place of compassion. He's concerned about people he cares about and the effect heroin has on them. What's your agenda? It's messed up, whatever it is...

  • @octaver I agree with your comment, when i read @TwoUselessLegs comment I couldn't believe the garbage that was on the screen. RIP George!

  • @octaver - Of course George was vain. Aren't we all?

George's early Beatle cut was modified to cover we thought

were his large his ears. Even here we see modern fashion

coming to his rescue as he covers his entire head with hair.

He often CLAIMED he hated "fame" because it compromised

his privacy....then, went on every interview of every magazine,

TV and radio. Even Living In A Material World is a tacit

acknowledgement that what George SAID isn't always how

    George LIVED.

  • @TwoUselessLegs WTF? Kinda judgemental there are we? Youve got it all wrong. What was not that good about his music.John and Paul treated him like shit when it came to his music. Who was acting vain here? Maybe he evolved later as a writer after being cut out of the process in the early years but give the man some credit for being able to pull it off! How fucking intimidating would that have been to anyone? Ask Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones!

  • @icabodcranium - It wasn't just John and Paul who rejected

much of George's early works. Producer George Martin him-

self was often given the task of letting George down gently.

I think it's safe to say that the Beatles knew a little bit more

about what "good music" was than you or I. If you heard

George's early works, you too would have rejected it. As it

is, John & Paul were kind enough to doctor much of his

music which only made George look better than he really

    was.

  • @icabodcranium - I think TwoUseless has a point. I love George Harrison but I would never confuse him with a great musician and certainly never with John Lennon or Paul McCartney. John and Paul operate in different spheres, they belong to the pantheon

of great musicians of timeless musicians. George belongs to the more earthbound celebrities of music: Abba, Neil Diamond and John Denver. Not bad for a guy who probably never should have gotten into music in the first place!

  • @FrlghtWolf Thats your opinion. first off we are talking about song writing. Second he was a far superior "musician" on his worse day than John ever was on his best day. And your gonna compare him to ABBA while both John and Paul brought their wives into their bands!

  • @TwoUselessLegs buzz off troll

  • @MissJJacks - But a "troll" doesn't really care

one way or the other. He will say anything to get

a reaction. I actually don't care what you think.

I really hate George Harrison. Not only his rinky-

dink music...but the man himself. Listening to a

George Harrison tune is like listening to "Yummy

Yummy I Got Love In My Tummy". His music is

meant for young teens and housewives. You can't

    compare George Harrison to...say...John Lennon,

do you? You're not THAT irrational.

  • @TwoUselessLegs your opinion is your opinion my friend. Yes, George is no John but hr was still talented and had a beautiful soul. How dare you judge someone negatively you, that you don't even know? To get a point across? Congrats. Still not changing my view on him.

    Good day

  • @TwoUselessLegs i've seen better trolls u'r more like a goblin

    a puny one ...

  • I know it's not meant to mean he's taken drugs... But he might have been a bit stoned :)

  • the reason why music was so amazing back then is because the artists smoked weed and used lsd!!nowadays musicians have no inspiration because they use cocaine heroine and drink alcohol!!

  • @supbrotv I thought everyone in the music business smokes pot.

  • Ugh! This fake hippie Guru with his pretend post

Beatle career. This man claimed he hated "fame"

...then went out on every interview on every radio

show, every TV show or every magazine to PROVE

it. What a colosal hypocrite! Never mind his awkward

music! Christ, his biggest "hit" turned out to be

    PLAGIARIZED!

  • @TwoUselessLegs It was a cover... the beatles did it all the time in the beginning

  • He meant well - for sure - and he yes he definitley was. That smile....Bless George - nice of Dick Cavett to be so safe to talk to.

  • We get it, they wanna get high!!!!

  • George speaks words of wisdom.

  • this clown was full of more horse shit than the race track barns...fuck-off...already...good fucking Christ you 'worshipers.'

  • @repelghosts show Dick some respect!

  • George Harrison was a devoted truth seeker who spread the truth that he found through his music and lyrics. He was a very spiritual guy, but he had a lot of distraction in his life and got caught up living in the material world. Although he sought the truth, he did not find the whole truth, because it couldn't be known at that time. Now it can. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then click on "The Present." What it says will blow your mind.

  • @monkeybindi Do you mind if I don't? I really don't want to track the 'truth' down on google. lol

  • I never much liked George the MAN or his music.

He seemed to suffer an ugly hypocrisy. Frankly, I

think this guy was clinically depressed but instead

of being honest about it he hid behind this Guru

Krishna crap. Imagine going to your death thinking

that the fame and world recognition you got

from the Beatles WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH. Imagine

thinking that the Beatles had conspired AGAINST you

instead of realizing that your music often WASN'T

GOOD ENOUGH. So much for his SPIRITUAL posturing!

  • @ArgentineExpel4Fraud You are blind.

  • My god, asking George about "rock stars"

taking drugs is like asking the janitor at Apple Records.

I mean, this is not exactly the engine that drove this

fabulous band. George was a good soldier, he did what

he was told but he was NEVER the innovator. Sometimes

I think they ask George because getting John and Paul

was so difficult. They often settle for Beatle-Lite! The guy

who preached "health" with a cigarette hanging out of his

mouth! Who's biggest hit turned out to be PLAGIARIZED!

  • the quiet beatle = ringo

  • @EnokiF wrong. Ringo was the one that had the mick taken out of him the whole time

  • @TheBuddyboy15 wrong. ringo is quiet

  • @EnokiF actually George was known as the quiet beatle. look it up on google :P

  • @TheBuddyboy15 - I only wish George had been "quiet".

Based on all the YouTube videos here and his constant

complaining...the man never seemed to shut up!

  • its what jesus did look like

  • that's how jezus should look like

  • here he is the holy one what you dont see are new york hippies on their knees in the audience

  • Peace and Love.

  • misleading title!!
