First off thanku james for traveln the world an makn these education videos for the average broke joe to watch. Thanks man seriously. Ne was at 3:45 thats a sick painting lot of paint to textur lik that. Looks lik they used a grill to pull across it. An at 3:56 omg that painting is incredible!! An u show it no love! It made me feel suspendid in air almort made my stoamch turn . Thats art man wen u feel even if it is nausiating.
Thank you for the video. I can't see the show in person. And, I like to hear your comments, to place them among the others I read--it helps with perspective.
@TomHendricksMusea Seriously, quit treating success like a club. All of these artists worked HARD to get here. It may not appeal to you, but quit being a salesman. Nobody cares. The crap your pushing doesn't belong HERE. The 'ivory tower' is a metaphor for everyone who is simply too lazy to try what success DEMANDS. GO AWAY, please :)

No they did not work hard. They tried to fit in instead of stand out. They tried to slide by with trendy stuff instead of real solid art, and art work. There was nothing new or outstanding here. No innovation. The new Post Modern Art, that should replace this derivative art, has at least 10 reasons why this is not good art in one of its manifestos. Check out my video series - five doors to the art revolution.

You're the epitome of the modern art lover: too scared to even believe that much of modern art is complete crap. You're scared to face truths - and that's something art should NOT be about. You want to accept everything, but in doing so you accept much that is crap. P.T. Barnum was right.

Lots of people "worked hard" to produce and distribute the new Lindsay Lohan album. Lots of people "worked hard" to put George W. Bush into office. Working hard doesnt mean that something of value will automatically come out of it. Watch "Hearts of Darkness", a documentary that explores what Coppola was willing to do to make "Apocalypse Now". Then tell me, would any of the artists in this Biennial be willing to die for their art?
were talking museums, its hard to get in. this is not a film site.Lindsay Lohan is not museum worthy. Nor Bush. artists want long lives like Matisse:)

There's more grace, beauty and introspection in that African's singer's music you filmed in the subway than in all the pretentious, sensationalist and boring "art" work that comes later.

Thanks James. I liked Charles Ray's paintings very much. Piort Ulanski's piece at the beginning looks like a blown-up Eva Hesse...

Modern art is neither - modern or art ! But seriously it is time to get art out of the NYC IVory Tower and get back to basics.
JK, you need to cover the snake oil video - conceptual art that attacks all conceptual art! Thanks.

Yawn? Yep, exactly my reaction to so much of your beloved "post-modern" ironic art. Duchamp must be rolling in his grave.

you seem overly concerned with something you obviously despise.....yawn
