  • Thanks...and again congratulations for the excellent guide.

  • You think the car can improve significantly with an LSD or superfluous? the load of the engine weight on the rear axle does not feel the need for an LSD? thanks

  • @Duca916rs :

Adding an LSD would help somewhat in mid-corner accel & also under braking... but less of an improvement than a FR vehicle, because RR engine position already gives you lots of traction. LSD can also increase understeer, so would need to dial that out with suspension changes to restore balance. I would do it all if $ were available, for the benefits of an LSD would be nice!

  • @quickxotica22 : Listen to engine revs rise at 1:10 in the video. That is a spinning inside rear wheel, due to lack of LSD + 2nd gear accel while turning hard. I am forced to use half-throttle or short-shift to 3rd gear. With an LSD, maybe I could use full throttle in 2nd gear, which would help improve laptime.

  • Hi, you have flyweel stock or AAsco Flyweel lightened? have taken some precautions to lubricate the engine? For example, increased oil sump or accusump?

LSD Limited Slip Differential ? thanks

  • @Duca916rs No, driveline is totally stock. Only oiling improvement is factory X51 oil pan, which has slightly better baffles. No LSD.

  • Tremendous lap times at Thunderhill and Buttonwillow, quickxotica22. Really impressive! Do you find that the MPSC and Pagid rs14 pads make a big difference to your lap times? Was it a quatifiable difference? For example, like 2 secs a lap? I own a stock 997.2 C2 and was wondering how much different the car would run with those improvements.

  • @medpilot105 : Thanks. Yes, the MPSC's (or any good r-compound) are worth 2 secs per lap I think, compared with MPS2 street tires. Worth more compared to lesser street tires. The Rs14 pads have a higher friction coefficient and higher temp thresholds compared to the stock pads, so they stop quickly and don't fade (assuming your brake fluid can handle the heat). Tires and pads combined...hmmm, at least 3 seconds? Just guessing. Maybe more.

  • @quickxotica22 : Ok, thanks. Yeah, there's still a lot left in the driver mod before I can blame my equipment! Thanks for the feedback as it gives me something to go on when I eventually start playing with r-comps, etc.. And, again, it's really impressive to see a Carrera making those times. Well done.

  • dude, why wouldnt he let you pass??? is your car stock?

  • @evobeatsti : Yes my car is a stock '03 C2 plus MPSC tires, pagid rs14 brake pads, a bit of extra front camber + safety gear.

He did point me by eventually... and apologized for not doing it sooner. He's a nice guy and I was having fun too so no worries.

  • That's a 996, not a 997.

  • @jeebus2121 Exactly as it says. 996 Carrera following a 997.2 GT3 RS.
