@APBGrrl It won't let you go from 1st to 6th or if your doing 120mph it wont let you shift from 6th to 1st. Denying shift just keeps idiots from damaging the engine.
@APBGrrl It isn't that bad if you think about it, the car just wants you to be within the proper rpm and ground speed range for the corresponding gear, which you would have to be even if you were in a fully manual transmission and wanted to make a successful shift.
What, were you expecting to be able to downshift into 1st gear at 80 mph or something?

If its any good or not I honestly could not tell you as I've only driven an '11 Camaro once and that was on a test drive in full automatic mode with a salesmen sitting beside me.

Everyone one who says this is for posers is a lame themselves. Why is it just for posers. If someone wants the fuel economy of an automatic but still wants to have a little fun every once in a while? its like the autostick in the Challenger but I like the automatic transmission w/ autostick bcuz # 1, i never learned how to drive stick and also its like u get the best of both cars...if i feel like shifting manually i jus use the autostick but if i dont jus drive letting the auto do it but its not for posers...its all but ur personal preference
yeah i know, but personally preference for this car is manual. being able to access gears sequentially like that is a good feature for an automatic transmission though. it's nothing new, but i get it. you only mess up your manual if you don't know how to use it
tapshift has always been for posers. if the drive really wantscontrol of the gears, they should opt for the manual. if they don't know how to drive stick, they should get a buddy to show them, ya know what i mean. i'm not dissing automatics. in general, i think they are just fine if you don't care much about 0-60 times or just dn't wanna be bothered shifting. but leave the paddle shift for your wife, ya know lol
yeah see i love automatics and i had my friend teach me and now im getting the civic si because my budget isn't camaro level yet because american muscle car with a V6 just doesn't feel right
that's understandable. civic si is a great car. i don't really mind the camaro with a V6 because i don't see camaro only as a muscle car. i see it as a sports car platform that offers varying performance. V6 or V8, it's a good car and there's room for improvement on both. but that's just my 2 cents. enjoy that civic si ^_^
I've driven a Saturn aura with the same style transmission and it was bad. If u really want to shift some gears u need the stick shift
