  • this music is extremely sexy and passionate. vivaldi <3

  • Great video. I love this group. I have to say though, after looking at comments on MANY classical postings, I am really starting to get a kick out of everyone busting out the European languages to complement them, lol.

  • non si sente nulla

  • Bellísimo! Interpretaciones de escalofríos!

  • BARIOLAGE

    iloveit

  • europa galante is awesome!

  • simplemente hermoso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sorry but today there's one way to play barroque and that's tha PASTA WAY. Italian, of course.

  • @rometube Oh please, please: stop thinking Italia=pasta!!! Stooooop!!!

  • @alincielo mhhh, have you ever tasted the real pasta?

  • @rometube Is it really so hard to put the "e" in "the" instead of an "a"?...

  • Biondi et al, sind am besten!!!!!! Ich libe ihre wunderbare musik....

  • Biondi et al create a new world of music. none such we have ever heard before. the composers would surely fall in awe- Such ornate exquisiteness with such subdued execution... This is surely beyond any expectation of the composer...

    Europa Galante Uber alles!

  • realmente muy bueno...! excelente =)

  • Bllisimo sonido.Excelencia de Fabio Biondi con Europa Galante..GRACIAS!!!!

  • i love the 3rd movement!

  • Que increible concierto, llena de energia . Fabuloso, Antonio Vivaldi es un genio. Me deja absorto totalmente.

  • I like how they are playing true barroque, with the ornaments and improvisation, and make it look so damn easy.

  • AWSEM CELLO PICCOLO!!!!!!! Great job

  • cello with 5 strings

  • I have a recording of them playing this, but it's quite something actually seeing them. What a fantastic old church, too!

Watching Biondi churn out those Italian notes is amazing. He's truly one of the greats in Baroque violin performance. Thank you for posting this.

  • ...just awesome!

  • Who are the soloists?

  • First violin and direction is Fabio Biondi and first cello is Maurizio Naddeo, they are, according to Biondi himself, the bicephal leaders of Europa Galante.

  • An exquisite masterpiece.

  • the improvisation at 3:01 is very atonishing!

  • ....Vivaldi a german?........ oh my God...

  • @Coui0112358 yes, Anton Vivaelden lol

  • Is it gut strings on the cellos? Sounds like it

  • yes they're gut... :-)

  • It's gut strings on all the instruments.

If you look, you can see that the A and the D on the cellos are plain gut and the G and the C have a single winding :)

  • You know what? I'd like to see a duet with Biondi and Giuliano Carmignola. That would be nice!

  • Cannot praise Vivaldi enough for his works.

  • une pure merveille d'entre les merveilles !

  • ¡¡Excelente!! Muchas gracias por compartir este video musical de Vivaldi.

  • enjoyed it so much..beautiful instruments too...love the fingerboard on his violin

  • Well, it is doubtless a good performance. What I do not like sometimes in Biondi is his "testosteron driven" performing of concertos. Maybe it is authentic, I do not know. What I hear is, that he generates a lot of " higher order harmonics" which he cannot damp, because of the speed of his play resulting in some whinny sound. I think, that Rachel Podger, J.W. Vriend or even Kennedy have solved this problem. Europe Galante is excellent : react on everything.

  • Compare this with other recordings by contemporary performers and conductors: at first blush it seems to lack the soul and intensity of other interpretations. But i noticed for the first time subtle patterns and connections i never noticed before listening to this recording. This is the real gem of the galante style of playing, allowing the composition to really shine in its own right!

  • Are they playing 5-stringed cellos???

  • they're of the viola da gamba family

  • negative...

    this cello picollo

very common on XVIII century , the E aditional string makes cello picollo execute violin pieces easier

  • oh yeah

  • Oh~no~. This is just concerto for strings not concerto grosso. I posted this video few month ago. :)

  • great
