I'm coming from a 15" T61P (Lenovo), your Vostro was actually on my maybe list when I got this one. It cost me about $1200 back in the day and I've added an SSD since.
My main concern is screen size, have you missed the 15" screen at all? Can you compare the keyboard with a normal lenovo keyboard? (Doubt you could, it's just one of the few main selling points that Lenovos have)
@tertiusmcarstens You know, I haven't really missed the 15" screen, no. My Vostro 1500 had a 1280x800 resolution over its 15", so moving to the smaller 1366x768 screen of the X120e felt like a move up
@tertiusmcarstens I don't have personal experience of other ThinkPad keyboards, but it's my understanding, via other reviewers, that it's of a different style but similar caliber.
I am planning on purchasing this over the x121e as I prefer this design. Your review on the product is the best I've seen on this ultrabook/netbook. Thank you very much, well done +100 internetz
@rdbahm Okay; I ask because I am close to choosing this as my next laptop laptop; the only thing I do is work for university (office) and stream videos on the web. I feel like this computer would be perfect for me.

Whoa, I didn't know you could easily swap the keys like that. for a year now I've had ctrl/fn switched in the bios but not the actual keys. =/

@CypTV Yeah it's pretty easy. Look up a video on how to remove keycaps and it takes all of a minute to do.

@rdbahm
lol, I just yanked them straight off and pushed them back down after I seen your video. :)

Could you PLEASE put up a video of you playing starcraft 2? I would really like to see how it runs.

I am pretty interested in getting the x120e. Can you be more specific on its gaming capabilities?

@melotrom1 Not a problem for me. Can get a little noisy when playing games, I suppose, but generally pretty minimal.

Great review, thanks!
Does the screen strike you as too small at times?

@WaywardWinds No, I like the size of the screen. It hasn't bothered me so far. I do have pretty good eyesight though.

@WaywardWinds "office" meaning Microsoft Office.

thanks for clarifying the mic is on the tiny little hole at the bottom of the keypad
which is not so bright for lenovo's design

@chimu17 Yeah, it was not a good engineering choice, but it is a pretty good microphone as long as you're not using the keyboard at the same time.
