There may have been a more emotion feel if they had actually done something with Alderaan instead of quickly shoving it in at the end. So when we realise it gets blown up we'd be heartbroken.
I like how they randomly started using OT Star Destroyers at the end of the film, along with randomly changing the layout of the interior of the ships.
After all these years, this ending STILL gives me goosebumps, especially when Obi Wan is delivering Luke and his Aunt and Uncle are looking in the sun sets. Really makes you think of Ep 4 when Luke is looking out himself.
You know, I think the best part of the prequels were the ending of Episode 3. The prequels get a lot of flak, and with good reason, but seeing it all wrap up and how it leads to the original trilogy is really great.
At last, the sith have their revenge. A new empire has risen. The story of palpatine's rise to power is over. The story of the fight for freedom is about to begin.
This scene is fucking epic. Episode 3 only gets hate because it was part of the prequel trilogy. It is actually amazing, and connects both trilogies in an extremely satisfying way. Sure 1 and 2 were meh, and 3 had some corny love scenes, but where it counts, 3 is a masterpiece, and is definitely the best entry since at least Empire...
The best ending for a sci-fi and misterious movie ever. The music is beautiful. It reminds the power of the dark side. In this worold there is the dark side, too, thin kabout the people in lybia and Syria. RIP the dead people.
Funny how Ewan McGregor described this last scene where he delivers Luke as "the worst moment" (of his acting) in the whole of Star Wars trilogy in recent Jonathan Ross interview, cause the scene was just done in a greenroom with him "riding" a green box and after giving the baby aunt Beru George just yelled "look at the moons! Look at the moons!" and nobody knew where the damn things were.
@MuikuliWander Wow, are you serious? That sounds like a horrible way to make a movie. I knew that George overused CGI, but that's just ridiculous. And sad. I'll never look at this scene the same way.
I did not like episode III at all, but this ending is fantastic. The New Hope borning with Anakin's Kids... I really cried at the movies with the reedition of the binary sunset.
Where was Han Solo during the prequels? I heard George Lucas had plans for a 10 year old Han Solo living on Kashyyk with Chewbacca in Revenge of the Sith but he never made the cut. Maybe it was for a good reason too he never made it? lol.
Anakin was the Chosen One. He brought balance to the Force as it was told.
When Yoda perished...there were two Jedis left (one of them untrained). Luke and Leia. And two Siths. Vader and Sidious. The Good and Bad were in equal measure. The prophecy had been fulfilled. :)
@Elorrra8787 I heard that Anakin was the chosen one. he was the one who kills the sith. his master Palpatine was a sith and Anakin was a sith. when Anakin killed Palpatine, then Anakin died to so thats how he was the one who kills the sith: by killing himself, cause Anakin was the last sith.
@35rocknroll I believe it's not about who killes the Sith off. It's about bringing balance to the Force. Yoda told it once that they might have misunderstood the Prophecy about the Chosen One... That maybe destroying the Sith is not the real purpose of the Chosen One. (And indeed it wasn't. Anaking basically killed all Jedi instead of destroying the one living Sith which means he was like the "purging fire" to create a new era.
@Elorrra8787 Technically no, but good try. (I'm a big fan, read all the books). The chosen one, is Luke, the chosen one brings balance to the force, they sensed it in him, because all of his power, wasn't for him, but Luke. Little fact, Plageious wanted to bring balance to the force which is why he made Anakin, but Palpitine didn't like this and killed his master and used his creation for the benefit of himself, not the Sith, which people often are confused about, not all sith are bad.
@HaydenCPASofa Well George sayd: "Even if he becomes Darth Vader, he is still the Chosen One". So I guess Anakin IS the Chosen One, not Luke. Luke only helps Anakin (Vader) remember who he really is.
@HaydenCPASofa :) I understand you're a big fan which is all right.I love Star Wars too but since I'm from Hungary and only speak/read English for a few years now I didn't have the chance or time to burry myself into this fantastic universe. For me the simplest, most logical explanation is mathematical. The moment Yoda perished, there were 2 Siths(the Emperor+Vader) and 2 Jedis(Luke+ untrained Leia) alive. This equals a balance in strenght on light, dark side=so Vader/Anakin is the Chosen One. ;)
May I join the conversation? ^^ This is truly a in interesting theory, my compliments! :)
But, I've always thought about it in a different way: Vader, at the end of Episode VI, actually brings balance to the Force by killing Palpatine ("It was said you would destroy the Sith!", well, he did it) and, thanks to his son, who succeeded in his mission where his mother before him failed, he returned a Jedi. (my speech continues in another comment: too long for YouTube's limits.)
So, he *did* join the Dark Side, help creating the Empire and everything, but all of this in the end led, hopefully, to a new Republic, and to a new Jedi, Luke, who is no more decadent as the Jedi Order in the last Republican era was; it's like Vader, or, well, Anakin, helped creating a new shining world, by passing through darkness, so it's both phases, light and dark, Jedi and Sith, and the result is balance to the Force. I'm not sure I've explained it well, though.
@HaydenCPASofa The song is titled "Padme's Funeral" and you can get it from the Star Wars Original soundtrack. But for free there is a nice program: aTube catcher. You can google it, download and install. Then there is another program, FormatFactory. :) You can make MP3 music from all types of formats. Hope this helps.
