fantastic playing dude. seriously good. i've done session work and played in dozens of bands over many years and watching this makes me want to quit! :D
pritty good but it didnt have much groove to it i felt as if you were jamming through a bunch of patterns you know while throwing in random fills I will give u one thing tho
dude u have to know how to put in those fast notes in the beat. u cant just add them in and screw up the beat...in the beginning there was no clear, u have to get good at having a clear beat first before u can try all the advanced stuff ur trying, thats what makes those drummers advanced, they can keep a meter while doin all that complucated shit, one step at a time man.
@insanedrummer89 ...he's too ahead for drum-off very jazz[in his solo style{elvin jones style}] for drum-off, he's avant garde (he's my drummer and fam bam, so yall dont even know)
sabian has some good quality cymbals but is a bit inconsistent in their sound IMO. paiste seems to be the most durable because of some kind of finish they put on the cymbal and best quality throughout their line. and zildjian.. eh kinda watever. they have some nice cymbals, nd some not so nice ones. pretty much preference tho
I agree. There are drummers who can do more with three piece drum-set and three cymbals than these guys with those giant sets with hundreds of cymbals. And, for instance, if you play rock, like ACDC, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, then the best choise for such music is Paiste. Cool drumming.
Take time to think about your solo - give it structure and a theme. Use dynamics. Just sounds like you're slamming on everything without any thought. Lots of potential though!
2. he was kidding about the 8 cymbals, but he still thinks u need more than 2. u only need more than 2 if u dont have any skill. the more cymbals that you NEED, the worse you probably are as a drummer.
3. Sabians are very expensive pieces of crap, and crack very easily.
zlidjian k customs crack more often than any cymbal if ever seen, dont get me wrong i love em... but again i support both zildjian and sabian so i dont like to hear hate stories
@metzykid Sabians are cheaper, AND more durable than Zildjians for your information. If you think that than I highly doubt that you have ever played a Sabian AA, HH, AAX, or HHX.
I think Sabian is great! After all, their factory was the old Zildjian factory where they made the K series cymbals. and the same workers that worked for Zildjian there now works for sabian so.
You have very much skill on speed and u make good accents! But mostly i miss somethin like groove in your beats that make my feet wip with you! To tell the truth: I only feel a real groove at 2:04 where you start playing or your ride cym! Anyway, good video!
Some people find the sound of the kick with no front head more pleasing to record with. To me it sounds like your kicking a kickball, but to each their own, I guess. Very nice solo, by the way. Love the sound of those drums.
Tama,Zildjian,Pro Mark and Evans. Heads - emad , g2 clear and st ( super tough ) snare batter with 500 hazy res. i also use remo cuz thats what i started with and i still luv em.
Sabian and DW go together better i think, Pearl with Zildjian, Sonor with Meinl and Mapex with Paiste. There is my opinion if you can be bothered reading this =]
i absolutely adore how gracious and loose you manage to stay. was there a certain sticking pattern you were running with? or any set technique?

love the set, you got a ton of potential you just need to do less spastic type beats and play some solid stuff with a solid meter....

blaze1766aa 2 years ago
you need at least eight cymbals, lol. but you do need more than two. although he probably dropped alot of money on this kit.

depends on what you like

And sabian sucks.. He's already got A custom

Nice set, but you should line it with cymbals; you need at least 8, and I would get Sabians
oertis2 3 years ago
That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard ; "you need at least 8 cymbals"
WTF?
EBFTW 2 years ago 6
@EBFTW stupidest isnt a word, and you didnt hear anything. you read it. but yea, that 8 cymbals thing was pretty fuckin retarded.

hahaha drummers who "need" a certain amount of ANYTHING are usually compensating for their lack of creativity...
not saying the well-known drummers with huge sets aren't creative, not at all, but those drummers realize its not their set that makes them great
this has been Christopher's knowledge nugget of the day
drmmr1989 2 years ago 6
WTF
You don't need at least 8, you can do great just with 3 (Hi hat, Crash, Ride). And Sabian aint best for everything
Robotdrummerzzk 2 years ago

I actually saved up my money to put the kit...
Took me a long time. It wasn't about it being to expensive because you get what you pay for. It's all about what you really want in life.
