Don't think I've ever heard a complaint about Youtube's prior layout, simple and functional as it was. This reminds me of Facebook changing how news feed and photos work ("NO, I'M SCARED! I DON'T LIKE CHANGE, SET IT BACK!). We like what we can count on, what is comfortable in our hectic lives. And yeah, with things like subscriptions, you can't mess with those without some friction.

@Inhumantics Yeah, there's was lots of complaints about that one as well. It was also because of the way subscriptions were presented. But instead of making it better, they went a step or a few down. I don't usually complain about things like this, but it has really affected my views, so I had to.

@Eduardotipo You're very Youtube savvy, and you're more than a 'casual' Youtuber. I also think you're subscribed to a lot of the same people as I am, and most of them don't post on Saturday's, which makes it easier to find my videos. But a lot of people aren't like that. And the harder it is to find a video, the more people will not even know it exists. It has really affected me negatively.

@JAWwilliams58 How does it defeat the purpose? It has all your subscriptions in a list on the side, so you can see all their videos. Additionally, there is a much clearer feed of all of their newest videos. It's two clicks away from the homepage, and it always works, even when YouTube isn't pushing videos to the subboxes on the homepage.

@JAWwilliams58 No, subscribing is so you don't have to search for everyone's channel among the thousands of youtube channels and check whether they've uploaded new videos. This only contains the new videos of those subscribed to you, and is simply a clear subscription feed. If you're too lazy for two clicks, suit yourself, but it's not youtube's fault.

@PremierWu12 That is what I do when there's no other way. But internet people...they're used to fast and easy. More clicks to get somewhere, means less people will get to that somewhere. You have found a solution, and that's great for you. I'm happy because YOU will find my videos. But other people will not, and that is because Youtube messed up with the new homepage.

I find pinning totally useless. I always choose the email option when I subscribe to somebody, so I never miss their vids. The elimination of the friend list totally sucks, though. I like to consider people as friends, rather than just subscribers and those I subscribed to. Makes for a better social community, methinks. By the way, have you ever watched any of my vids? Probably not: there are only 4, and they're boring to most people, unless you think waaaaaaay too much!

@timmy25able I did watch like three of them. Thanks for the comment, and perhaps the e-mail option is a good one. But not very practical for people like me who are subscribed to so many channels. It would just become a cluster, and I would end up missing videos anyways. Thanks for the support.

@MrStimpy77 It really depends on how many people are subscribed to, and who they are subscribed to. Because maybe you're subscribe to people that don't post on the same days that I do, which make it easy for you to find my videos. But in a general sense, the new homepage has hurt my views a lot on my latest videos.

Actually Big K, I've gone the other way...from your pinning technique and have not pinned any of my subscriptions. Thus, all new postings come through as they always have and I just sift scroll through them to get to the good stuff. Of course, I don't have anything like 200 subscriptions so it may be too time consuming for you. For consideration at least.

@RandomGlobalCitizen1 Pinning still lets the subscriptions come the same way. You will see the same videos whether you pin or not. The reason to pin is so that you have the person right there very easy to find, and with just one click you can check if they have a new video out.

@KKortez I read in the Seattle newspaper that Youtube is trying to make access for the average vid poster harder because they want to develop more commercial tv like challenges from which they can collect fees and sponsors etc. I guess the market place dictates what we get even if it stinks!
