It needs to start slow to build up enough plotlines to make future seasons more enjoyable. If they start off with a bang you end up with Atlantis, which is a shame. What did we benifit from Atlantis? Like jack shit. No technological advancements made in the five years they spent there, just rehashed plotlines from SG1 and the same common theme of one big bad guy, keep fighting him off. SGU will surpass SGA, possibly SG1, give it time.
@skyecolor It has only been 10 episodes, You cannot judge it by half a season. All good Sci fi's take a season or two to really get kicking. I suggest you check out the newest trailer for the next 10 episodes and see if you feel the same. Aliens, space battles and lots of gun fights.

warehouse 13 delivered first season, see if a show lasts it has to be good from the get go none of this mid season break, where they ratings drop 500,000 an ep sg:u had its chance, and it has the same chances as the rest but it failed to deliver, caprica is good so far on the adama side the grey stone is getting repetitive.

SGU is no different. but it doesnt help with fan boys expecting it to be a replica of SG1 & SGA. When people realise SGU for what it is, people will enjoy it.

But when writers and producers disregard the loyal viewers that have paid their salaries for 15 years, and deviate so wantonly from the previous series it's not forgivable. @1337WhiteTiger SGU appeals to a different audience. It's more grim, more mature perhaps, and deals with more raw issues like failing life support and relations between crew members. I think it's extremely well done, and finally gets rid of the good guy - bad guy division that could be seen in SG-1 and SGA.

Um... Given you posted this yesterday, I assume you're talking about the season 5 final episode... That is the last episode of atlantis ever. There will be no more Stargate Atlantis seasons, they will make some feature movies. But Stargate Universe will continue the franchise in the summer of this year (presumably northern hemisphere summer).
I agree maybe not straight away but look at fascape thats been away for a while yet their doing webisodes now which I think means they are seriously considering bringing it back.
Hon, I'm sorry...but that's not happening. Weird was killed off in the third season, and Beckett was killed off earlier. SGA was cancelled couple months ago, but the new Stargate Universe is coming out this fall.

There will be no more Stargate Atlantis seasons, they will make some feature movies. But Stargate Universe will continue the franchise in the summer of this year (presumably northern hemisphere summer).

Never say never! months, years from now the franchise rights maybe sold or given new life.
Remember when people said there would be no more Jerico and people protested and got it back etc...
Just keep watching you never know.

Hon, I'm sorry...but that's not happening. Weird was killed off in the third season, and Beckett was killed off earlier. SGA was cancelled couple months ago, but the new Stargate Universe is coming out this fall.

It would be fun if the character John Sheppard would be in SG-1 and Cam Mitchell on Atlantis because in the 200 episode they say that Mitchell is the son of Jack O´neill and my point is that John Sheppard is more like Jack O´neill and would fit more as O´neills son. I´m not saying that the acters should switch I´m just saying that if the characters was switched it would be a bit more cool.

joe flanigan (colonel sheppard) is so damn hot, yum! I love mckay too, he's so funny.
I used to think SG-1 was better, but to be honest, I prefer Atlantis now. The cast are so much better looking and so are the graphics.

its very different, australia made. its about this guy that gets sucked through a wormhole and is stuck in space with aliens not being able to get home.. :) but claudia and ben are in it and they are so great! they have great chemistry in it.
