Great author, but how could someone who conceived of a 6'5" guy who is so strong, that his muscles stop bullets, approve of the choice of Tom Cruise????? Tom Cruise is a pussy compared to say... Chris Hemsworth, the guy who played Thor??? Seriously, as a 6'6" man, I certainly identified with the character of Jack Reacher. I was even a drifter for a spell after getting out of the military, but Tom Cruise is no Jack Reacher. Poor choice!!!

@MiniGolfRocks I would take a bad actor over Tom Cruise, who on his own is the very antithesis of the Jack Reacher character. Actually, while he is only 6' tall, Mark Valley has that "Reacher look".

love the books but it makes me sick that Tom Cruse a 5 foot 7 dwarf with nothing even remotely symler to reacher is playing him in the movie Tom Hardy or Gerard butler would be a much better choice

You have got to be kidding. Pretty boy Ben is about 6' 1" and maybe 200. I'm 55 and I would take at shot at him anytime--The real Jack Reacher is Bill Goldberg. 6' 5" 260 pounds, mixed martial artist, extreme wrestler and certified bad ass. 6 guys in a bar fight would just be a warm up for him--He's hosted many different car shows on cable and been in 2 movies. He can definitely play the part of Reacher.

@Dividog Okay description, but if I may, I disagree. Goldberg looks like a body builder gang biker. Reacher looks like a tall bum. That's it. He never excersices in any way other than walking, doesn't eat sport nutrition rich in protein meals, and takes relatively poor care of himself. Only in Tripwire he puts on weight working out with a shovel. Summing up, goldberg arms are like trees, while Reacher's are like tendons with no muscle, as described in Persuader.
