Gotta love oregon for that, I used to drive from Portland to Eureka three times a month for six months. in that time I hit a deer, got car fixed, then hit a baby elk, didnt kill it, sure it made for an easy cougar/bear meal, a rabbit and a skunk. I love animals, but i like driving faster, this was all on HWY 199 from Grants pass to Crescent City. the deer was on 101 and never did find its head after the crash. not to mention the near misses and the heard of elk in middle of 101 north of Arcata.

In our country we have deers too. No problem. At lest in a car. Moose are the problem. 100 pounds ando nwards..Anyway. And regardless of what you do, you do not ry to pass them from the front. It is quite simple. They do rush on - not turn back. So you have an amateur biker who panics. He should have tightened the line and moved inward the curve. No proble - no harm. No he hit the deer and almost lost it. He might have also hurt the deer.
